CHAPTER 16: COUPLES DILEMMA.

"Hey honey. My car suddenly developed fault, and I needed to get it fixed before returning home," Mr John lied, as he was confronted by his wife. He walked towards her and sat on the couch as well.

"Your car suddenly developed fault and you couldn't reach out to me?" she asked, knowing that something wasn't right.

"Look Honey, I never wanted to bother you with bad news. So I decided to take care of it," he lied again, making sure he composes himself so he doesn't get caught.

"But I tried calling, you decided to end the call Instead of responding to the call. What will you say about that?" she angrily asked, furrowing her brows.

"That was a mistake honey. Please don't make a big deal out of this okay," he said, pretending to be angry.

"A mistake you couldn't correct huh?" she angrily raised her voice at him.

"You know what? Go ahead and believe whatever, I don't care anymore," Mr John said, hissing as he stood up, heading to the bedroom.

His kids were already asleep. And he didn't bother asking about the kids. He had never returned back from work at that late hour of the day. 

'This is what one goes through, when working for inconsiderate individuals. I should have allowed her do what so ever she wanted to do.'

'Now look at the mess am in. I've never had a fight with my wife, now this,' he thought, as he walked into the bedroom.

"No. I need to go open up to her," he said, taking off his shoes.

"What's wrong with him? He had never spoken to me in such manner, what is going on with him?" Mr John's wife asked herself, wondering. 

This was so strange that, she couldn't figure out what the problem was. Because she knew it was definitely not his car.

She was confused, and that got her thinking.

 'Is he cheating on me?' she thought, wondering.

She turned off the TV and walked into the bathroom as well, meeting her husband deep in thoughts.

"Honey, what's the matter?" she asked calmly, placing her hands on his shoulders.

"Huh? Oh. Am okay honey," he was startled.

"What really happened?" she calmly asked. That was actually the best way to approach the matter, not to yell at each other.

"Seat down honey," he said, holding her hand.

She sat down, staring at him, as she doesn't know what he was about to say.

"Look Honey, am so sorry. It wasn't my fault okay, I wanted to preserve my job," he apologized before telling her what he actually did.

"Okay? What did you do?" she asked, wondering.

"Something happened that made me cheat on you," he opened up, without minding his wife's reaction.

"You did what honey?" she asked, as she fled up. 

"Am sorry honey. It was never my intention to hurt you," he apologized, touching her.

"Don't you dare touch me, don't. Because I am sick right? You couldn't wait anymore," she said, crying.

"Who did you cheat on me with? Who?" she angrily asked, wondering.

"My boss's -" 

"I knew it. Because she's wealthy, she thinks she could get anything she wants huh? She should be ashamed of herself. Her mates her married with kids, but she chooses to sleeping with different men," she interrupted him.

"I mean, my boss's f-"

"Yeah. It's now work and pleasure?" she asked, not listening to her husband.

"You're quitting that job. I can't have you sleep around with her."

"Her name is Lina! Not Ava," Mr John angrily said, as she doesn't want to listen to him.

"Oh yeah. Lina, Ava all the same. You're not going back there. You're rather going to choose between me or your work," she angrily said, and laid on the bed, covering herself with duvet.

"Aren't you going back home tonight?" Lina asked Megan, as they were done drinking and having fun.

"Naa. I don't wanna go back there anymore," Megan responded, as she was already drunk. She isn't used to drinking much as Lina does.

So, she became drunk, while Lina was still strong. 

"You really need to start going. I wouldn't want your husband insulting my singleness.

"I don't wanna go."

"Get up, I need to take you home right now," Lina said, helping Megan up. She grabbed her car keys, and opened the door as she helped Megan to the car.

She forced Megan into the car and locked the door, as she got into the car as well. She drove off, heading to Megan's house.

"Where are we going?" Megan drunkenly asked, as she couldn't see properly.

"Taking you home. You didn't tell me you were going to sleep over, so am taking you home," she responded, as she drove.

"No Lina, this is a bad idea," Megan said.

"You're going to handle that," Lina responded, as she drove slowly. It was already late, so she needed to be careful. Though Megan's house wasn't far from her house. Maybe that was probably why Megan decided to come over to her house instead of Ava's house.

Shortly after, she arrived at Megan's house. She parked the car by the entrance of the house, and came down opening the car door for Megan.

Megan's husband was still in the living room watching some series, as he wasn't concerned about Megan's where about. He knew she was definitely running to one of her friends house, so he didn't bother looking for her.

Suddenly, he heard a car sound, he stood up from the couch and looked through the window, and saw a car parked by the entrance of his house.

He quickly rushed into his bedroom and put on a shirt, as he was wearing just a trousers. He came out from his bedroom and rushed to the door.

He quickly opened the door, looking to see who that was. He saw his wife coming out of the car. He hissed and walked back in, leaving the door open.

"I gotta go. See you tomorrow," Lina said, and got into the car and drove off, heading back home.

Megan struggled herself into the house, meeting her husband in the living room. She walked into the bedroom without saying anything to him.

"Got drunk huh?" he asked, and chuckled awkwardly shaking his head, as he noticed she was drunk. He so believe that Megan was keeping bad friends around her. And that has been the reason for her misbehaviour.

So he hates seeing them around her. But Megan wasn't ready to let her friends go in other to please her husband. She believes that men can never be pleased, no matter what you did for them. 

"She's definitely going to choose between me and those her friends," he angrily said, not knowing he was actually the reason for the disrespect Megan always shows to him.
