Dinner is Served

Alex arrived at his mansion at half past six in the evening. As it is the weekend, the office had been busier as it hastened to finish some more works before the employees goes home.

However, the man still looked like he just woke uo in the morning, looking handsomely fresh.

And why not? Lara slept beside him last night, though not by her own choice, when he think of his teasing her this morning his eyes would glimmer with playfulness. Also she accepted his gift.

That hadn't been easy to acquire. Thank God he's friends with an extraordinary being.

His employees seemed to act awkwardly the whole day though. While he was relaxed, they had been squirming in their seats and gossiping behind his back. He had to check his face in the mirror at one time of the day.

Do I look so love struck?

He was walking at the entrance when she appeared at the top of the stairs. He faltered his steps. He had seen her in a gown before, in the island, so he knows she is exquisitely beautiful.

But this time its different. As if an angel appeared before him. He saw her smile awkwardly as she descended the stairs. Like the true gentleman that he is, he walked to the bottom of the stairs and reached for her hand.

He had to praise the stylists he hired for her. Her long brown hair is straightened and let fall on her back up to her waist, it looks so silky he wants to run his hands on them. Her makeup is lightly applied, highlighting her cheekbones and a touch of eyeliner only. Her lashes and eyebrows doesn't need anything else as its already perfect for her little face. While her lips has a touch of rosegold color lipstick.

They had chosen a Venus cut long dress in rosegold as well, with a rose brooch on her left shoulder as her only accesory and nude stilleto sandals.

'Dinner is served. But he can't eat yet' How frustrating.

"Darling you're so beautiful." He kissed her lips lightly and her cheeks immediately turned pink. "Let's go." Before I take you back upstairs, he thought.

They soon arrived at a banquet of a 5 Star hotel. Lara was feeling skeptical but Alex held her close the whole time. Not making her feel out of place even as he talks business with some people.

Either he put her arm linked in his, or holding her hand, or her waist! Lara didn't mind, in fact it made her heart at ease. She was introduced to so many people that she can't remember their names. And she can't blame it on the wine in her hand as Alex only allowed her two glasses to drink.

She remember their dinner at the yacht and she silently thank the heavens for it. It gave her a footing on what to feel and expect on nights like this. Also, Alex seemed to have guessed the menu ahead as the food served earlier has some of the dishes they ate that night as well.

She missed the oysters though! What a bummer they didn't had it here.

"Were you bored? Sorry." Alex whispered so only she can hear.

She shook her head negatively at him. How can she be bored? She could just stare at the handsome being beside her tonight. All else doesn't really matter.

"We'll go home soon." He kissed her temple.

"I hope you both are enjoying your evening." Lara saw an old man come up to them. He exudes an authoritative demeanor, like that of a general, and Lara can't help grasped Alex's arm tighter.

Alex's lips thinned, but he greeted the newcomer respectfully. "Grandfather Yu." He bowed his head in recognition.
