Chapter 10-Gathering

Back on Earth Cassa, Rose, and Bell all meet up to discuss the stuff that's been happening recently. As they sit at the park in Westfall city, Cassa watches Ru playing with the other kids on the playground.

"We need to get to the bottom of what's going on. I mean a god wouldn't just bust in like a maniac if it wasn't anything serious!" Rose said as she irritably read through blueprints that made no sense.

"I think it has to do with some kind of new threat. Even though he wouldn't tell us about it."

"Could it be something serious that involves those gemstones that Arako and Crimson have?"

"You mean the Lyrx gemstones?" Rose asked as Bell begins thinking harder.

"Yeah what if they found another one and Kessa sent them to go get it?"

"If that were the case it would make sense. Those gemstones are dangerous after all." Bell said worriedly.

"Yes, but if we leave it up to them to collect them all then I think the worlds in good hands."

"Hey Rose, you still have the topaz right?" Cassa asked curiously.

"Yeah, It's locked up in the lab behind some pretty strong reinforced glass, and a ton of security if anything a normal being wouldn't be able to get it. Yet a god, well that's a different story."

"Well do you have any way to check?" Bell said with hope for confirmation.

"Yeah, I'll just access my security feed from my watch." As Rose lifts her right arm and flicks open her watch a projection of her cameras appears. She scrolls through the multiple cameras until she hits her lab.

"See it's right... Wait a minute. Rose enhances closer into the lab and notices something bad."

"We need to get to my lab now!"

Cassa gets up and rushes for Ru who was playing with another boy. However, cut short as she rips him away from him.

"I'm sorry sweetie, but something bad could happen and your mom can't leave you here by yourself."

Ru pouts and waves goodbye to the little boy who was also sad his friend left him so suddenly. As Rose got into her car, Bell got into the passenger side and Cassa put Ru on Bell's lap.

"I'll meet you guys there! Be quick okay!"

"Wait Cassa it's dangerous to go alone!"

Cassa didn't hear that part and burst off towards Rose's house.

"Damn it! That woman never listens to me!"

Rose kicks it into high gear and begins driving like a racer. Switching gears manually leaving people in her dust as she zoomed by them.

Cassa quickly arrives and lands to see a giant hole entering her lab.

"Crap am I too late?!"

Cassa rushes in without thinking and prepares for anything as she looks around the lab is trashed, and her cameras were destroyed. Machine parts were laid to waste on the ground.

"So much for security..."

As she looks around more she noticed the reinforced glass untouched and the topaz still in its place.

"Wait so they came to trash the lab yet, didn't attempt to take the topaz? What the hell... This is definitely weird. Something has to be..."

"Wrong?" A strange voice said finishing her sentence. This caused her to shift and turn to face the voice. Once she does she notices a new being.

"Y-You're an angel?! But you aren't Lord Kessa's angel... Who are you?"

"Oh my dear it's not about who I am, it's about what I plan to do... You see I've had my eyes on you for some time now. Ever since your planet went kaboom."

"H-How do you know about that."

"Never mind that now, shouldn't you be worrying about that gemstone behind you? Doesn't it look mesmerizing... Dare I say tempting?"

Suddenly Cassa's mind begins to go blank, and her body shakes. Like she was under control, the Evil angel grinned evilly as he watched Cassa break through the glass. Each punch slightly shattering it more and more until. It finally shattered and the topaz was fully within her grasp. She grabbed hold of it and her body took an immense shock. Shaking her free from whatever mind control she was under.

"W-What am I doing."

"Tsk, it seems I'll have to return another time... Tah tah!" The Evil Angel vanished within a second, and just in time too as Rose and Bell arrived.

"W-What happened to my lab?!"

Cassa's mind was still unclear of what just happened.

"I d-don't remember."

Cassa fell to her knees as Rose noticed the trashed security and shattered glass.

"So they came and destroyed my lab, but didn't take the topaz? What on earth is going on!"

A few hours later and Cassa's mind was still a bit shook. But she could recall a bit of what had happened.

"When I arrived there was this giant hole in your wall, the one you walked through. Then I entered without even thinking about the dangers. After looking around I looked at the topaz and just completely blanked. I remember nothing after that. Then you guys showed up and suddenly things were back to normal."

"You mean, you went braindead? For like that whole time. You don't even remember if anyone else was in there or tried to fight you anything like that?" Asked Rose who was curious and angry at the same time.

"I mean I wasn't hurt when you found me or I when I snapped out of it is what I should say."

"I'm sure it'll come back to you within time Cassa. For now, I think you should head home and rest. Especially after all this..." Bell said with worry in her voice.

"Y-Yeah I think you're right."

As Cassa walked out with Bell. Rose looked around and tried to figure stuff out.

"Tsk, my cameras are busted and it seems the glass didn't hold up against whoever broke it... But I swear I saw someone on my watch before it went black... Aghhh damn it this is all so infuriating!"

Rose began picking up papers and broken robot parts to try and salvage what she could. As police blocked off the area to make sure no one set foot within the lab. This investigation was far from over.
