Falling for Miss Director

"Nature doesn't force love, it presents it to you, like a delicate rose in bloom." ***** As Sydney's gaze met Jordan's, her heart skipped a beat, and her words tangled in her throat. His piercing silver eyes sparkled like diamonds in the light, and his black tuxedo accentuated his chiseled features, making him look like a debonair prince. The warmth of his gentle smile enveloped her, and she felt like she was surrendering to the whisper of fate. This was love at first sight, but... Sydney's hand instinctively went to her stomach, and she rushed to the side, overwhelmed by a sudden wave of emotion. But it wasn't just her heart that was racing - her deepest fear was also stirring. L-O-V-E! Sydney Mia, the well-known director in the country, had always lived by her motto: "Rule the world with my movies, collect trophies, and gain a legendary reputation." Love was never part of the script, just a distant hum in the background.  But Jordan's presence was like a gentle earthquake, shaking the foundations of her heart, and awakening a longing she never knew existed. Yet, there was something about Jordan that was different. He was the calm in every storm, the safe haven where she could be herself and face her fears. As she opened her eyes, her hand still trembling, their gazes met once more. His silver eyes shone with an otherworldly intensity, filled with concern and kindness. "Are you okay?"  he asked, his voice low and soothing, like a gentle stream meandering through a lush meadow. In that moment, Sydney felt her walls begin to crumble, her fears slowly unraveling. Could Jordan be the one to finally awaken her heart, to show her that love wasn't a weakness, but a strength that could move mountains and shatter the shackles of deepest fears? Could he be the one to make her rewrite her motto, to make love the leading role in her life's script?

Jordan

Country X...

Expensively dressed, Sydney stepped out of the backseat of her car, dressed in a corporate outfit and sunglasses.

Her gaze shot at different areas of the building before coming close to the entrance.

A little step further, her expression blissed into a smile watching the little girl run towards her after being guarded out of the school by her nanny.

"Mummy," she exclaimed on seeing her while Sydney crouched to come in height with the girl and then she joyfully embraced her.

Sydney rested her head on the little girl's shoulder for a while before she retracted herself so she could stare at the girl, she placed her hands on her cheek.

"I'm sure my baby missed me, right? " Sydney questioned as the girl nodded cheerfully.

"Seriously?"

"Yes, mummy I did miss you."

"Like how big?"

"This big, mummy," she stated as she extended her hands.

Sydney let a chuckle out her lips as she caressed the girl on the cheek while she stared into her eyes, some secrets laced in her eyes as her past concealed within her eyes.

She looked at Anna in admiration, staring at those silver eyes that reminded her of him.

"My little cottage, guess what?" She spoke trying to divert her thoughts from thinking about him.

Anna's eyes glittered in curiosity.

"Dear, is a surprise," Sydney intentionally stated as Anna's eyes dulled knowing her mother was purposefully trying to tease her.

At least her mum could release the suspense since she hated surprises.

Anna had a pout on knowing her mother was not going to easily let the surprise out.

"Dear, your Aunt Pene is around!" Sydney claimed and then a dazzle of joy expressed on Anna as she hopped on her feet in joy.

"Really, mummy?"

Sydney nodded.

"So common, we are going to pick up your aunt at the airport. I know you don't want to waste her time. So let's go now," Sydney instructed as she watched Anna being taken into the car by her nanny.

While she stared, Sydney stood up feeling a bit uneasy reminded of what had happened seven years ago, Sydney tried to distract herself from thoughts of Jordan, but her mind wandered back to him.

She raised a hand to place on her golden necklace and then she gently squeezed her hand around the sparkling piece.

Why was she reminded of him once again after so many years?

"Jordan," she whispered his name in anxiety, her mind trembling with thoughts of what had transpired.

"Mummy!" Her expression lit as she heard Anna call her and then she placed a smile again.

"Dear, I'm on my way," she stated as she rushed into the car.

While they were on their journey, Anna relaxed her head on Sydney's chest as she watched a cartoon from the gadget in her hand.

Sydney heaved a deep breath in distress and then she raised her phone to take a look at the call list, she hadn't checked him for years and all of a sudden, she was reminded of him.

Her heart pondered in fear as she stared at the number she had saved uncontacted for years.

Was he going to recognize her if she gave a call?

Her fingers lay on the screen, she tried to comfort herself with every emotion that streamed through her system.

And then she called the number.

It rang on the other side as she began to chastise herself.

Did she make the right decision?

Will he still love her after what happened or curse her?

The call rang for a while and then it got answered.

"Who's this?" She stuck on her breath feeling a lump in her throat as she heard a feminine voice from the other side.

Maybe he had changed his contact.

Sydney was about to speak but then she heard Jordan's voice from behind, she immediately felt her heart racing as she lost her breath.

She ended the call.

Her eyes widened as she placed a hand on her chest.

Had he moved on?

"Mummy," her eyes averted to Anna who removed her earpiece and then turned to her.

She still had her cartoon.

Sydney tried to feign with a smile.

"Mummy, why does your face look different?" Anna tried to inquire as she furrowed her eyebrows, she reached up to Sydney's cheek.

Sydney let a gasp as she reached for Anna's hand on her cheek and then gently squeezed it with a smile.

"Does it look that bad?" She said her face looked perplexed.

"Caught y'all, mummy," Anna stated in jest as she smiled but her mind was confined.

It's been years since it had happened, was he still living on that memory or he had moved on after what had happened?

Once they got to the airport, Anna was elated she got out of the car first she headed to the terminal area while her eyes surveyed around trying to look for Pene.

"Mummy, where's Aunt Penelope?" Anna asked for the umpteenth time while Sydney had her phone beside her ear, she tried getting a call through to Pene.

"Darling, I can't get through to your aunt, she's not answering," Sydney claimed as she tried again.

Her expression was perplexed, she'd been feeling nervous all day and this, could it be a sign?

She released a deep breath as she reached for her forehead.

"Aunty Pene!" Anna cried out in excitement as she unraveled her hand around Sydney and then excitedly ran to Pene who extended her arms to embrace her.

When she was caught, Pene hauled her from the ground with kisses on her face.

"My little cupcake," Pene voiced while Sydney walked towards them with a smile on.

"Oh dear, Sydney," Pene turned to her after she dropped Anna and then she embraced her.

"Hi," Sydney stated with a chuckle.

"Sydney, you never told me Anna was fed so much while I was gone, she's gained so much weight she's turned into a big girl all of a sudden," Pene commented as they chuckled.

"I know you'll be tired, let's go now," Sydney stated her mind was elsewhere, still reeling from the phone call and Anna happily took Pene's luggage along with the driver.

While Anna happily walked away leaving the two behind, Pene noticed her distraction and stopped her, placing a hand on her arm.

Sydney placed a frown on.

"Anna just came from school didn't she?" Pene asked as she nodded.

"It's been months, already. I missed her so much, " Pene commented but then she was reminded of something else.

Sydney noticed the sudden wash of expression on Pene's face.

" Pene, what happened? "

" Well, Sydney. I saw him a while ago, " a twitch formed on Sydney's expression.

" Who are you talking about? "

" Jordan. " Sydney narrowed, her heart skipping a beat.
