286. Stupid Ravens

Flare looks down and decides to follow Ben & Mira. But then Ivan stops them, "Wait! How can we know that you are really sent by this Eternal Flame?"

The other Raven Tail guild members join Ivan and ask them to show proof. So Ben takes out a communication lacrima and calls the giants. Some seconds later, the giants picked up the call, and Flare recognize them immediately.

But she doesn't dare to talk with them because she left the village at her whims. So she thought the giants will hate her. It's not true, of course, or they won't ask Ben & Mira to find & take care of her.

The giants also show the Eternal Flame to them and Atlas himself tells Flare to follow Ben & Mira. Now, Flare is sure that she needs to follow Ben & Mira. As a villager of Sun Village, Flare believes in any of Eternal Flame's words.

Flare tells Ivan that she will quit Raven Tail to follow Ben & Mira, just like what Eternal Flame said. Of course, Ivan & Raven Tail don't like it, but there's nothing they can do, not until they can find a way to defeat Ben.

The only thing Ivan can do now is run his mouth. But that's a very fatal mistake because he made a big blunder out of rage. Ivan insults the Eternal Flame out of anger because Flare leaves his guild.

"Hah, so you'll just leave and do what you want after everything I did for you. I don't know why you and those villagers listen to a stupid flame. It must be a demon, a fire demon. You all must be demon worshippers," says Ivan angrily.

Flare doesn't take Ivan's insult toward Eternal Flame kindly. She finally realizes that Ivan isn't a kind man like she thought he was. He knows that Eternal Flame is her benefactor, but he still insults Eternal Flame nonetheless.

"DON'T INSULT THE ETERNAL FLAME!" shouts Flare angrily while controlling her hair to attack Ivan.

However, before her hair can touch Ivan, it drops to the ground, and she falls weakly too, so weak that she almost faints. Mira catches Flare and supports her to stand while Ben stands in front of the girl. He can't let the girl entrusted to him get hurt.

"I wanted to just let it slide and leave quietly if you just stay silent because you are Master's son. But you just have to do something unnecessary, Ivan Dreyar," says Ben with a threatening tone.

Ivan grits his teeth and commands his men to attack. There's nothing he can do but attack Ben in the current situation if he wants to survive. He still has hope that his whole guild will be able to suppress Ben.

"You are too full of yourselves," says Ben as he activates his Sun God Slayer's Gravity Magic.

All Raven Tail members including Ivan & the elites fall to the ground. They even start sinking into the ground because of the super strong gravity. Ben's Sun God Slayer's Gravity has a pitch black color, so the whole area becomes very dark.

"A familiar with Magic Cancelling ability, quite a good one you have there, Ivan," says Ben.

"Familiar? What are you talking about?" asks Ivan very slowly because he is pressured by gravity, but he is obviously confused.

Ben frowns before he smirks, "So it's not your familiar."

Ivan is still very confused, so Ben uses gis gravity magic's pulling power. He pulls a small creature from a big guy with blue hair & skin. The guy is called Obra, but he is actually just a puppet, the real Obra is the little creature pulled by Ben.

Ben uses his sword to create flying slash attacks that rip Obra's puppet's body. The reveal surprises everyone in Raven Tail, including Ivan. Obra has fooled him very well and he genuinely thought that the puppet is Obra's real body.

*Sniff sniff* Ben smells something on Obra and it feels familiar, so he tries to smell it again.

"Well, well, well, what a surprise. This is a smell that I still remember. So you are Zeref's familiar, huh? Zeref, the coward who ran away before Acnologia came. I've thought about it and I know that he knew about Acnologia's appearance on Tenrou Island. But he ran away even though I'm sure he was one of the reasons why Acnologia got attracted to Tenrou Island."

"I don't know why Dark Mages worship someone like him who is an immortal but doesn't even have the guts to fight Acnologia. But I'll make sure that he & Acnologia perish from this world. I don't care if he has a sad past like Acnologia. Those who hurt my loved ones won't have a good life," says Ben before burning Obra's body.

Obra can't even scream before his body gets burnt into ashes. As a familiar, Obra must be connected to Zeref. So he will know that Obra has died. It is a way for Ben to warn Zeref that he is one of Ben's targets now.

Ben leaves the location immediately because Zeref might come soon. He might want to kill Zeref but he knows he isn't ready yet. Mira & Flare will also be in danger if Zeref comes while they're still here.

In the past, before Acnologia's appearance, Ben has seen Zeref's magic. That magic is too dangerous because it will kill any living being around Zeref. So Ben needs to do research first before he can confront Zeref.

Before he leaves, Ben knocks out and teleports all Raven Tail Mages to the Magic Council branch. He placed a paper note on Ivan's body to notify them that he is the one who send them. He asks the Council to detain Raven Tail because they have a connection with Zeref.

With his title as a Wizard Saint, The Council will do as he requested. They will surely ask some questions to him later, but it doesn't matter. He just needs to show some proof and they will believe him.

After that, Ben throws a lot of black balls on the ground. Then he leaves with Mira & the now unconscious Flare. Obra has erased her magic power, making her lose consciousness. They will go to Sun Village first before going back to Magnolia.

Sometime after Ben's group leave, Zeref really appears through a black orb. He looks around the place and there's no one left there. The only thing that remains is Obra's puppet's broken body that Ben left for him.

Zeref then sees that there are many metal black balls the size of fists. He doesn't know what they are so he ignores them and checks the puppet. He tries to find out what happened here and how Obra died.

But suddenly, *BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!* Some big explosions suddenly happen there and engulf Zeref. The black balls are explosives made of gunpowder, not magic. That's why Zeref didn't feel anything from them.

Ben made them himself and the only magical thing on them is a simple enchantment. He puts a simple enchantment on them to explode when a massive source of magic power appears near them. They are traps that Ben left for Zeref.

Sometime later, Zeref comes out of the explosion site, battered, & injured. The immortal Zeref still can get hurt if he received massive damage, after all. Ben's explosives can be compared to high-level magic spells, so they can injure Zeref.

Also, these explosives didn't use magic power, but physics. So they can't be blocked by Magic Resistance ability. That's why Zeref still gets injured badly. If he doesn't have his immortality, he will surely die.

"Have a taste of that science power, Zeref," says Ben while smirking in his car.

"Will that be enough to defeat him?" asks Mira.

"No way. If that's enough, then I won't need to leave that place. His injuries are most likely superficial and he will heal fast. Forget about him, how's Flare?" asks Ben.

"She will be fine after recovering her magic power," says Mira.

"Good, let's finish things up in Sun Village and go home. I missed those little troubles already," says Ben as he drives faster. Their trip is really going to an end now.
