Chapter 191: The Grand Magic Games (2)

~Third POV~

[July 1, X791]

The next day in the morning the crowd was restless since they were very excited to attend this year of the Grand Magic Games. Everyone was cheering for their respective favorite teams.

"GO SABERTOOTH THEY'RE GOING TO WIN THIS!!!"

"NO WAY GO LAMIA SCALE ARE GOING TO WIN THIS!!"

"NOPE THIS IS THE YEAR OF THE BLUE PEGASUS!"

"NAH! THIS YEAR's FOR THE CERBEROUS!!!"

Everyone was ready for the games to begin then in the commentator's room there were four people inside one wearing a brown suit and a small face named Chapati, and the next to him was an old man wearing a chief uniform named Yajima.

The other person with them is the reserve member of Blue Pegasus Jenny Realite wearing a blue dress Jenny says with a confident tone, "Don't worry everyone this year will be the year that the Blue Pegasus isn't that right."

The fans of Jenny and the Blue Pegasus guild cheered louder agreeing with her on that statement.

"YEAH!"

"I LOVE YOU JENNY!!"

"GO BLUE PEAGASUS!!!"

Then Yajima expresses his interest in Fairy Tail commenting while smiling, "Oh, my I wouldn't be sure about that Jenny. I think the Fairy Tail Guild has a good chance against everyone here, but then again we don't what might happen in the games."

Jenny just glared and scoffed at that but didn't show it since she was the current beauty queen of 'Miss Fiore' and not Mirajane since she was stuck frozen in time for seven years.

Meanwhile, back on the benches Fairy Tail Team A gazed at the scene expressing smirks as Natsu punched the air in excitement, "Hell yeah! All of them look super strong! Can't wait to take the first piece of this action!!'

However, being the voice of reason Silva commented pointing his thumb at Gray being participated in the event, "Sorry Natsu. You know the rules Gray won first come first serves being in the first rounds."

Natsu merely pouted not getting any action as soon enough their eyes widened listening to the news of something entering third place causing Silva to freeze on the spot, 'Oh, you have to be kidding me… Why are they in the Grand Magic Games?!'

Listening to the announcer through the Lacrima communication speakers announced in a surprised tone, "Moving on to fourth place… what's this?! Who would've seen this coming!!! It's the first time in the Games but this guild has taken fourth place!! The Lawful Justice Crime Sorcery!"

Erza's eyes widen in surprise recognizing a few familiar faces, "What! They're participating!"

The people had different reactions as the team consisted of Jellal, Meredy, Ultear, Ur, and Lahar participating causing some confusion within the crowd.

"What?"

"Wasn't that guy arrested in the past?"

"Yeah and isn't she with a Dark Guild?"

"We never heard of them before…"

Causing an uproar by the surprise appearance Chapati began to explain to the crowd in an excited tone, "Let me see, according to the official info his majesty pardoned the 3 for their past crimes under unique circumstances that were unjust under Lahar and Ur one of the 10 Wizard Saints watchful eye of rehabilitation. For the past 7 years, they have served under the Magic Council assisting in dangerous Mages, and thus have earned their right to work with us! Such a redemption arc!"

Upon hearing this they nodded in understanding the group was surprised as Natsu grinned eagerly at the news, "So we get to settle scores then huh? I can't wait to return the favor of Jellal knocking me out in the past the favor."

Lucy could only sigh at the sigh as Silva muttered out loud in an excited tone, "So they're fighting in the games huh? This is gonna get a lot more fun."

Erza eyed the screen above them in their waiting room till finally, the third-place team appeared surprising the Fairy Tail members, "Now! Taking third place we have…. This is a shocker! I never would've seen this coming! It's Fairy Tail Team B!!!"

Lucy's eyes widened her skin color turned pale witnessing the lineup's surprised tone, "Oi! What the hell is this!! How the heck is that fair!!"

Silva eyed the group his grin twisting up in the corner of his lips clenching his fist at the lineup against their fellow opponents, "Oh? Seems like Gildarts decided to join the party huh? This is going to be tough huh guys?"

Gray paled at the thought as Natsu replied in the same vigor anticipating duking it out against Gildarts as well, "Heh! You and me both buddy but his mine you hear!! I want to show the old man the difference between us in the past 7 years. I'm getting all fired up!!!"

Erza remained silent only curtly nodding at the challenge ahead of Fairy Tail B consisting of Gildarts, Juvia, Gajeel, Laxus, and Mirajane at the ready.

The crowd was surprised by this but didn't break any rules thanks to the judges explaining the rules.

That was when the announcers began to announce the people in second place everyone was at a loss of complete shock when Mato said in an excited tone, "For our second place to participate we have the number one guild in Fiore give it up for SABERTOOTH!"

When the members of the guild arrived, they welcomed them with cheers, but they were surprised that they came in second place and not first everyone in the coliseum of Domus Frau then they wondered who came in first.

After their introduction, Mato says in a prideful tone announcing the first place in an excited voice, "Well then we now have our final first place winner of the Sky Maze also a newcomer for this year of the Grand Magic Games we have Fairy Tail Team A!!!"

Then Silva, Gray, Erza, Natsu, and Lucy all came walking down onto the middle of the stadium wearing their clothes from when they first entered the Sky Maze everyone in the coliseum was surprised but cheered for the newcomers.

But it was more so everyone seeing the strongest mage finally joining in the Grand Magic Games as all team looked from the audience stand while the team were just waving their hands at them getting along with the swing of the things from the audience.

Silva merely muttered with a smug expression on his face, "Just smile and wave boys."

*Shiiii*

Then suddenly a stone that holds the rules of the tournament of each day will consist of while some have blanks that have been filled with question marks then next to it says battle.

Then Chapati explains the rules in an informative tone for all the teams to listen intently to the rules with varying expressions, "It's time to announce how this year's game will work! First, I'll explain the contest. Teams will be ranked first to eighth place, based on their performance, points will be given to each team based on their rank. The teams will be allowed to choose to participate."

Everyone was listening closely to the rules as everyone tried to figure out who would go first choosing who would go first, "Then after the contest, let me explain the battles. The sponsors will pick competitors against each other based on factors such as an audience vote. The battle rules are really simple. Each team will fight each other, the winning team will be awarded 10 points, and the losing team will get 0. In the case of a draw, both teams will receive 5 points. Now with that over it's time to present the opening contest! Prepare for the Hidden! Now you choose one person from each team and we will explain the rules once all the participants have come forward!"

Gray was chosen as he headed towards the grounds with Ur, causing him to steel his determination as Silva leaned on the wall replying at the opponents, "This will be an interesting match. Student versus master. Especially in a game like this."

Erza nodded her head in agreement as she questioned Silva who would win in a curious tone, "I can agree. But I have to wonder who would win this round. Any thoughts on the matter Silva."

Being put on the spot he sighed surprising his teammates who would win in a defeated tone, "Rufus of Sabertooth. With the game setup Gray was dealt a bad hand you'll see why soon enough."

Their eyes flashed surprised at how instant Silva responded but soon turned their attentions towards the field as they all heard Mato speak out loud, "Now open the field!"

*Shiiii*

*Rummmbll*

Then the empty stadium transformed into a miniature city where everyone was teleported away from each other.

Then they all heard Mato say from a hologram screen explaining the rules in an excited tone, "The rules for Hidden is simple. Contestants are to find their opponents somewhere in the city and use any magic they like to attack. Regardless of how much damage is dealt, every successful hit will earn the player 1 point."

Then a bunch of copies could be seen as Gray uttered surprised to see a bunch of copies of himself and others popped out of nowhere startled as he spoke out loud, "What the heck is going around here why is there a lot of fakes?"

The announcement from Mato continues earning the participant's attention immediately of the rules, "These are copies we made of everyone. If a player mistakenly attacks a copy… he or she will lose one point. The time limit is 30 minutes! Now! Fade into silence! Like a black cat in the dark of night! Let the Hidden begin!!!"

"BANG!"

A gunshot rang out as everyone began to react Silva leaned on his back and Mavis soon appeared startling the core members as he greeted her casually, "Hello there Mavis sensei. Been a while since we talked huh?"

She pouted in Silva's direction causing him to sweat beads of sweat as she responded almost crying at the end, "You didn't even speak to me after those 3 months… you big meanie-e… sniff…"

Erza not aware of their dynamic reacted accordingly making Silva plead forgiveness, "Silva I didn't expect you to –"

However, Silva replied dryly at Erza causing Mavis to pout realizing her crocodile tears, "Erza she's faking it. How could a ghost even cry anyway?"

At this Mavis pouted surprising the core members' reactions of how nonchalant she's being around Silva, "Ahh… and here I thought you would fall for it old chum."

Silva merely snickered till Lucy's thoughts clicked blushing accusing Mavis in surprise, "Wait you're the ghost that steals my underwear!!"

Mavis merely gave Lucy a peace sign snickering causing her to yell at Mavis, "That's not something to be proud of!"

Silva merely smiled happily seeing the scene thinking to himself at their antics, 'I really missed these types of interactions. It's great to finally see them back.'
