Exodia: Last Encore

(This is the re-uploaded version. I'll do daily uploads here.) (Disclaimer: There are swear words.) A century ago, the world was blessed with special abilities which came from sources in seven spots all across the world, in different continents. Not only this, a new species of monsters came along with the special abilities. The species which hate humanity and want to wipe them off the face of the Earth; Imperi. This entire event was called the Grand Impact. Those blessed with special abilities and superhuman physique were called Streia and those who were Streia and swore to protect people for a profession were called Magi. 8 years ago, East Asia was affected by yet another impact. This one mainly destroyed Tokyo and a few other places in East Asia. This was caused by an entity given the codename of Alpha. Thanks to one Magia, Alpha was stopped and vanished, never to be seen after that day. On that day, Kazuya Shiba's mother was killed. He swore to take revenge on Alpha and attended Interblade Academy as, now, a second-year. At Interblade Academy, his friends stand out more than he does as they are Silver ranked. Meanwhile, Kazuya is... Porcelain ranked?! Even being Porcelain ranked, that does not stop him from killing Imperi and defeating enemies. Will Kazuya be able to achieve his revenge or die trying? (I do not own the cover.)

Encore 75 — The Fake Nobles (II)

The two humanoid Imperi sat opposite Saito Eiji. He grumbled as he saw no third person with the two of them. Saito Eiji tapped his walking stick against the ground.

"Where is Furuya Nishimura?"

The man asked.

Ylna smiled as she crossed her legs.

"I had captured him, but... he escaped!"

She stuck her tongue out playfully.

Saito exhaled as his walking stick began to shake. He was furious but he knew that getting angry at Ylna wouldn't get them anywhere.

To keep the conversation on track and not to waste any breath...

"You remember our deal, don't you?"

Saito asked them. Tvar and Ylna exchanged glances.

"Of course, we wouldn't forget."

Ylna kept a nihilistic smile.

"If we got you the majority votes of all of the families at the meeting, you would tell us the location of the Godslayer."

"I'm glad you remembered."

The old man grinned.

The reason that Ylna and Tvar were cooperating with Saito Eiji was the same as why Kazuya wanted to find him. He knew the location of the Godslayer.

"So, anyway, why haven't you brought me Furuya Nishimura?"

"Why do you want him, anyway? He's a young man with a bright future."

The pink-haired girl leaned forward, narrowing her eyes.

"You surely jest. He has a dark future. Eventually, he'll be targeted by many different noble families and groups, wanting his abilities. I wanted him first, but it's fine."

He said.

"I've been wanting to ask you, Saito Eiji."

Tvar spoke, glancing at the old man. Saito gestured to continue.

"What do you see in Imperi? You, whose wife was killed by Imperi, support them? Why?"

It was a valid question but an unnecessary one. Ylna glared at Tvar and elbowed him but he ignored her.

Standing up, Saito looked at Tvar.

"Why? That's a simple question. You all are alien."

"What?"

"Just like how in some holy books, humans are said to be stewards of nature, I believe that Imperi are beings that we should protect and analyse. Of course, I don't care for their life as a whole. They're simply interesting beings."

The man winced, staring at Saito.

"Interesting beings. Are you saying that as a scientist?"

"No, I'm saying that as Saito Eiji. I mean, if I benefit from you two, who are monsters in your own right. Of course, you haven't forgotten your part, right? You promised to tell me how your Singularities work."

Saito scratched his beard while sneering at the two humanoid Imperi.

Saito Eiji's true objective lay elsewhere. He loved the Imperi simply because he hated the creatures called humans. He found the existence of Imperi intriguing and wonderful.

When he discovered the existence of Ylna and Tvar, that was when his interests seemed to peak. He wanted to know more about these sentient Imperi.

He wanted to control them. He wanted to break them like the Whiteclaws that he owned.

Tvar glanced at Ylna, who flicked her head nonplussed. She put her hand on her head.

"Shit, I already regret making that contract."

In this world, there are laws that the world keeps in place. Within these laws exist a way to bind people together with a promise. A contract.

This contract has many different names. A Linked Chain, a Binding Contract, an Inscripted Oath and etcetera.

This is a promise made between two parties. Under mutual conditions and agreement, the contract is formed. This contract cannot be broken without mutual agreement from both sides.

If one side breaks the contract, they suffer unimaginable consequences depending on the scale of the contract.

In this case, the agreement made by the two parties of Saito Eiji and Ylna and company was this:

-Saito Eiji receives information about Ylna and Tvar's Singularities and along with the majority of the noble family votes at the meeting before the end of the agreement

-In exchange, he tells them about the location of the Godslayer

The problem was that Ylna and Tvar didn't want to tell him but it was their only choice.

And so, Ylna starts.

"My Singularity is..."

{A week later}

In Roppongi, for the meeting of noble families, a large hall was being used. It was more like a banquet than a meeting.

Outside, Myraliana adjusted her tie with a sour look on her face.

"Fuck, I want to die just from looking at the number of nobles I'm seeing."

She muttered.

There were 20 noble families invited to this meeting but the maximum there could be in a party was 5. There were a few guests as well, who could also have 5 in their group.

"Some of them are giving you sour looks."

A man said to the woman.

He was the head of a noble family called the Otsuka family. He was a young man who went by the name, Rentaro.

"That's because some of them commissioned me."

Rentaro was accompanied by another woman in a suit. She was his maid. She was Fan.

"Why did you choose me?"

He smiled as he asked. Myraliana didn't like his attitude but answered anyway.

"You're helping us and you're paying me a million on top. Honestly, I should be charging more but I can't be that greedy."

Myraliana had more than enough money. It was the money that Lucia had paid them for their services. Rentaro raised his eyebrow, amused.

"Haha, well, I would pay you more but I'm in a hard place financially. In fact, I think I'll be able to pay you more if you get rid of him."

'Him' referred to Saito Eiji. Myraliana and the others were planning on getting the location of the Godslayer from him. Mei would be an important asset for getting such information out of him.

Of course, he wouldn't be an easy target, seeing as he is the main guest of the meeting. The nobleman turned to the blonde-haired woman.

"So, do you know who they are? I'm sure they told you."

She scratched her head before groaning.

"They're the Suisha siblings that work in a company called FreeLive that works on phone service."

I'm going to be uploading around two or three chapters weekly. I'm not sure if I can do seven a week. Honestly, it depends if people actively read this.
