Exodia: Last Encore

(This is the re-uploaded version. I'll do daily uploads here.) (Disclaimer: There are swear words.) A century ago, the world was blessed with special abilities which came from sources in seven spots all across the world, in different continents. Not only this, a new species of monsters came along with the special abilities. The species which hate humanity and want to wipe them off the face of the Earth; Imperi. This entire event was called the Grand Impact. Those blessed with special abilities and superhuman physique were called Streia and those who were Streia and swore to protect people for a profession were called Magi. 8 years ago, East Asia was affected by yet another impact. This one mainly destroyed Tokyo and a few other places in East Asia. This was caused by an entity given the codename of Alpha. Thanks to one Magia, Alpha was stopped and vanished, never to be seen after that day. On that day, Kazuya Shiba's mother was killed. He swore to take revenge on Alpha and attended Interblade Academy as, now, a second-year. At Interblade Academy, his friends stand out more than he does as they are Silver ranked. Meanwhile, Kazuya is... Porcelain ranked?! Even being Porcelain ranked, that does not stop him from killing Imperi and defeating enemies. Will Kazuya be able to achieve his revenge or die trying? (I do not own the cover.)

Encore 74 — The Fake Nobles (I)

"So, if I can ask, how do you go about making false identities?"

I asked Nishimura.

We regrouped with Mei and Myraliana at a nearby fast-food restaurant. Myraliana spread her body across the chair while exhaling. I had to move near the window. Asking Myraliana to move doesn't end well.

"You know, being thrown out of a building and landing safely is something that has never happened to me. I feel like I lost years of my life."

"Think about me. I'm not some monster like you, Myra. I thought I was going to die. I passed out midair."

"Tell me about it..."

Myraliana had to wake up a shocked Mei. It probably wasn't easy. It was my first time, falling from that height but it's not like I haven't been up that high.

I had the Spatial Composer, so I could be up high but I never fell. I guess those previous experiences helped me stay calm. Thinking about the Spatial Composer... Reina...

"Kazuya?"

Nishimura called out to me.

"Ye...ah?"

He was wiping blood that was seeping from his nose. Without knowing his condition, it would appear to be a grotesque scene.

"You asked me about how I go about making my false identities?"

"Oh, right."

"Before that, could I ask you whether the surrounding area is safe? I don't know if we should be talking here of all places if you know what I mean..."

Nishimura said to me, glancing at random people in the restaurant.

It's not a surprise that he would be cautious of others, especially due to the incident that happened not long ago. I'm not worried because I'm sensitive to hostility. Even if someone is listening in, I'm sure February will tell me like she did with Ylna.

"It's fine, trust me."

I told him. He nodded his head.

"Well, it's hard to tell you based on my Singularity alone. Let me explain it this way. You want to disguise yourself as nobles, right?"

Nishimura asked us.

"Yes, well, Kazuya and I will but Myraliana won't. I know we're getting disguises but Myraliana is going to be hired by a client. It's convenient for us."

Mei told him. Nishimura set his palms out. He lifted one of them.

"Firstly, we'll set up a newly started company. I can make it so that the company has been around for a while. Since you'll be there in a week, setting it up should be fine. My question is, though, do you have an invitation?"

"No, which is why we'll make some too."

"Oh, is Kaito getting one for you?"

"Yeah, he said that you'd probably need it."

I answered him. As his nose began to bleed, Nishimura chuckled nostalgically.

"Anyway,"

He lifted his other hand.

"The other thing is that you will only have that identity for a maximum of 2 days. I can give you a disguise that will only last two days since I'm making two at a time."

Beside my face, February appeared.

‹If so, then wouldn't it be better to just make one?›

"One at a time? That still won't change the duration."

February shook. I'm not sure what she's talking about either.

‹I mean to say that Kazuya doesn't need a disguise.›

Eh?

"Huh? I don't."

"Oh right,"

It seems that Mei realised what February was referencing. I only noticed myself.

"You have the Archive to use, right? Can't you just change your hair and eye colour like you're doing right now?"

It's true. I could use Alter Ego, but I thought getting Nishimura to make it would be better.

I laid back against the chair.

"I could use it, but my face will be revealed."

"That's no problem."

I glanced at Mei, who was sitting opposite to me. I frowned when I saw the cocky smile on her face. It didn't mean anything good.

"Nishimura, how long will the disguise be if you only make one?"

"Oh, it'll last 4 days."

"I have an idea. Kazuya, you won't get a disguise."

Mei grinned with her hand on her cheek. Myraliana raised her brow in confusion. I also wanted to protest but it was Mei. If she said she had an idea, it would be better than anything I could make.

"Okay,"

I replied, withdrawn. February chuckled at me, but I ignored her.

"Nishimura, you don't need to tell us how you do it. I just want to know, when is the earliest you can set up the faux company?"

He tilted his head.

"Uhm... I'll need to contact one noble or two to act as insurance, but it should be up in two days."

"Okay, that's fine. Hehehehehehe..."

Yup, that's unsettling. Mei isn't the type of person to laugh like that. That means that whatever she has in mind is somewhat crazy.

Myraliana and I exchanged looks. It seems like she's probably thinking the same.

Saito Eiji. The ex-head of the Eiji Family. Despite being 85 years old, he travelled a lot. He has as much influence on the Eiji Family as Kimura Eiji, his son, who was the head of the family.

"Master, your guests have arrived."

A woman walked into the room. She addressed the elderly man who was sitting down. He slowly turned.

"Let them in."

He croaked.

She moved to the side, holding the door open.

"Wow, what comfortable reception you have, Mr Saito."

Ylna walked into the room with the giant named Tvar behind her. Saito Eiji grimaced as he saw the stained arms of Tvar. He exhaled, putting his hand on his face.

"Did my subordinates cause any... trouble?"

"No, they didn't. In fact, they entertained us quite a bit."

Ylna smirked. She summoned her snake, petting it and licking its red-stained hide. It was an attempt to tease Saito Eiji.

He looked at the woman standing by the door.

"You didn't kill Kurin, it seems."

"She was kind enough to recognise us and lead the way."

Ylna responded.

"Is that so...? Kurin, leave the room. Make sure everyone else is informed about these two."

"Yes,"

The woman bowed before leaving the room.
