BURNT HANDS

the next morning, Eden went to work early, and since Mia didn't have anything to do at work, she decided to stay home with Isabella who wasn't going to school today.

Aunt Mary had to go see her son who just returned from abroad, leaving Mia and Isabella at home alone.

after breakfast, Mia decided to take Isabella to go see her friend Lizzie.

carrying her bag, Mia said, "Isabella go bet your pack bag upstairs and meet me outside ok."

hearing that Isabella nodded and went upstairs. after she went upstairs Mia then went outside.

Isabella got her pack bag, so they drove off. it was a one-hour drive they just played games and chatted until they reached their destination.

Mia and Isabella got down from the car and proceeded to the front door of Lizzie's condo.

standing in front of the door Mia knocked then she held Isabella's hand before the door opened and a woman with blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes stood in front of them.

seeing them Lizzie smiled and then gave Mia a big hug, "awww Mia, why didn't u tell me you were coming." breaking from the hug, Lizzie looked down and saw Isabella before saying, "awww is this my little niece you were talking about. she is so cute."

hearing that, Isabella smiled and said, "thank you, hi It's a pleasure to meet you."

bending down, Lizzie said, "well the pleasure is all mine sweeties. come on both of you, come inside already."

hearing that, Mia and Isabella went inside and closed the door. the condo was as beautiful as ever, everywhere was almost painted in white and ash. there were little things that made it full of space.

entering the living room, Mia and Isabella took a seat and Lizzie. keeping her bag on the chair, Mia said "so how are you doing?."

"well I should be asking you that question, anyway I've been fine. work has been a little stressful this past few days but hay, there is nothing I can't handle(laughs)."

hearing that, Mia laughed along with he friend, "you still haven't changed one bit. you still think so highly of yourself, anyway don't overstress yourself too much ok."

"ok fine I've heard mom (laughs)." hearing that Mia pouted and Isabella giggled.

the morning passed with Mia and Lizzie chatting and Isabella playing around.

it was already 12:30 PM and Mia thought of stopping at Eden's workplace and giving him a little surprise.

so she said to Lizzie, "hay can I use your kitchen, I'm thinking of giving Eden a little surprise and also lunch. So I can I."

hearing that, Lizzie said, "sure, the kitchen is all yours. I even need to take a shower, I stink. anyway have fun." saying that Lizzie left the living room.

after Lizzie left, Mia and Isabella then went to the kitchen to make lunch for Eden.

thirty minutes later, a nice lunch was prepared and Mia even made some milky dumplings for him, it was steaming hot so she just left them on the tray open, to cool off.

after which she then said to Isabella, "I'm gonna go get your slippers now so we can get going ok." receiving a nod from Isabella, Mia then went to get the slippers.

that leaves Isabella and the dumplings alone in the kitchen. staring at the dumplings, Isabella gulped, and the next thing, she stressed her hands to take a dumpling. but the next thing Mia heard was a loud scream.

hearing Isabella scream, Mia quickly rushed to the kitchen and towards Isabella.

she saw Isabella crying and a piece of her hot dumplings on the ground. she then looked closely at Isabella.

her fair hands were now burnt red. it was even peeling and she was hundred percent sure Isabella was hurting.

Lizzie who had just finished freshing up quickly rushed into her kitchen when she heard Isabella scream. and just like Mia she saw Isabella cry painful tears.

Mia went towards Isabella, and Bent down before carefully holding her burnt hands and saying, "Isabella how did you burn your hands." saying that, Mia tried to hiss Isabella's pain by blowing some air From her mouth.

hesitating a little, Isabella finally said I'm a tearful way, "I'm s-s-sorry Mia, i-i-i just wanted some dumplings but I didn't know they were this h-hot." saying that Isabella burst into tears and leaned against Mia.

Mia just patted her on her back, "then you should have told me, I would have given it to you by myself." Mia said, she wasn't happy and she was sure Eden will be the same too when he finds out.

after Isabella calm down, Mia applied some ointment and dressed her hands. she then went towards Lizzie, "I think it's time we get going. I don't think we can give Eden a little surprise today."

smiling in an understandable way, Lizzie said, "ok Mia, I think Eden will be a little Mad and upset about what happened to Isabella."

"I know but don't worry, u will talked to him and anyway it's just a Little burn, it will heal in a few days time. ok now, I think we should get going." saying that, Mia hugged her friend and her and Isabella left Lizzie's condo straight home.

when they reached home, Isabella still feeling guilty just went to her room, leaving Mia a little upset.

time went by and those two mother and daughter pair didn't talk until it was finally evening.

Aunt Mary came and started preparing dinner, while Mia helped her.

few hours later, Eden came back and Mia went to greet him. although it thought it was a little strange that his little sunshine didn't come greet him today, he also thought that since she has a mother now she didn't care much about him again.

Eden went upstairs to freshen up, and when he was just about to undress, Isabella came into the room.

she was now wearing her pajamas and she looked cute and sweet.

seeing his daughter, Eden smiled and Bent down, It was about time she came to say 'hi' to her daddy.

Isabella made sure to hide her burnt hands in her back in other for her daddy not to get mad at her and Mia.

smiling, Eden touched Isabella hair and then said, "how are you sunshine, did you have fun today again with Mia."

smiling Isabella said, "yes it was fun, Mia took me to her friend 'lizzie' house."

"really! I'm happy to hear that. now give daddy your hand, I want to gift you with a chocolate bar." Eden said while grabbing it from his jacket pocket.

hearing that, Isabella froze. what was she going to tell her dad when he saw her burnt hands.

shaking her head Isabella refused but Eden insisted and while they were bickering and Isabella refusing to give Eden her hand, Eden finally garbed her hands but he wasn't pleased with what he saw.

his little daughters hands were burnt, and he could here her groan because of the pain. he looked at her and said in an angry way, "who did this to you!."
