Chapter 31 Decision

Xiao arrived back inside to see Jack with his head between his legs. As he walked up Jack lifted his head showing his tear stricken face.

"Did he leave?" Jack asked without consideration for his ability.

Xiao looked at Jack seriously wondering whether to answer but eventually decided to "Yes he left". Xiao said with a face that was done with this nonsense. It would be up to Jack if he would reconcile with Ryan. If he didn't Xiao would be very upset with him.

"Since Ryan left this party is pretty much over so you can leave." Xiao said dead serious. Jack slow to react looked at Xiao while blaming himself internally. If he didn't have this ability then he wouldn't be at conflict with both his friends.

This ability broke his oldest friendships. The choice lay with him whether to choose his friends or his ability.

Jack left Xiao's room leaving behind the snacks as he slowly hobbled towards his room.

Barely paying attention to anything he arrived back inside his room with his mind in a mess. Deciding to sleep on it to get into a better state of mind he struggled to fall asleep.

Finally passing out from sheer stress and tiredness he wakes up the next day later than usual.

Thinking back on what happened and his decision he entered his divine realm to weigh both sides.

Though Jack knew what decision he would make in the end he still wanted to make the best of it.

Entering inside his realm and with his few faith points remaining wondered what would be the best things he could do with his ability before it was removed.

Looking around and wondering as he could try to upgrade the arena somehow with hope though that would probably take more points than he would have. Jack considering coming to a compromise with Ryan in exchange for keeping the ability the rest of the month.

He could possibly get a ton of benefits out of it. Jack stopped thinking of how his friends would react as he kept coming up with uses for his ability.

Eventually he heard a knock on his divine realm though it was more metaphorical since you couldn't actually knock on it.

Looking outside his divine realm Jack saw Xiao standing outside looking very annoyed.

Going outside to meet Xiao Jack was stunned at what he said.

"So you decided to keep your ability?!" Xiao said biting down as he squeaked out each word as his eyes slightly shown with red light.

"What are you talking about?" Jack asked clearly confused as his faith decreased.

"ITS BEEN 5 DAYS!" Xiao shouted out loud releasing his frustration.

"Huh" Jack took a second to comprehend what was said as he didn't know he was in this realm for 5 years.

"It has been 5 days Jack." Xiao clearly said each word with emphasis on the 5 looking directly at Jack.

"Oh lost track of time" Jack said awkwardly.

"Jack remove the ability now or we won't be friends anymore." Xiao said done with this and turned to leave.

"Wait!" Jack screamed clearly not wanting to lose his friend.

Xiao turned around and waited.

Jack stood there stunned before realizing what he was waiting for. With a heavy heart and a bit of reluctance he removed the ability as he said "Sorry".

With a flair of magic and the disappearance of the aura around Jack Xiao sighed in relief as a smile appeared on his face.

"Its done." Jack said looking a little sad as he lost an ability.

"Good well have a good day and I will inform Ryan." Xiao said with a smug smile as he left to inform Ryan.

Jack watched as his friend left as he felt he was tricked though he knew it was done for him.

Looking back over his realm he sent a message to his warlock who is on his way to become his disciple and the saint.

"Do not call me as the silent one anymore. For I am the Lord of Grass" Jack sent down a divine message to the warlock who looked shocked before getting to work.

Jack looked over his realm realizing the amount of faith he used up talking. The only real benefit he gained was the warlock. It would transform his entire tribe.

Jack remembered how long Xiao said he was missing and left the realm.

Picking up his phone he looked at the date. Realizing that only 6 hours passed since he entered so only about 1 day since he last talked to his friends he knew he was tricked.

Annoyed he angrily texted Xiao and complained to Ryan to never trust Xiao. Who both replied immediately that he deserved it. Knowing he wouldn't win this conversation he took the initiative to apologize to Ryan and said that he hoped they would still work together in the future.

He texted his mother how he no longer had the ability that disabled communication realizing after that he just screwed himself over.

Emailing his teacher apologizing for the inconveniences but he was now able to talk freely again.

Sighing as he realized how much inconvenience he caused for everyone and how this would be better he entered his divine realm to continued observing and making small changes. Now with only one ability he good consistently bless many things.

Having the faith to have every old adult kobold blessed permanently alongside permanently blessing the trees, boars and rabbits randomly.

Jack continued going to his classes weekly and informed the class he could now talk freely again to the mild surprise of everyone.

On off days jack continued to manage his tribe seeing more evolutions and more the first evolution of non kobold life. One of the rabbits evolved into an earth magic variant.

This rabbit had increased lifespan and could breed with the original rabbits creating ordinary rabbits with bloodline. Allowing for many children to then follow the footsteps of the father and evolve.

No boar evolved and no apple tree evolved unfortunately while more dragonoids evolved none were warlocks.

Jack woke up ready to head to class and compete in the third trial or personally for him the second.
