Chapter 20

Lin looked at her crying girl in front of her and thought about what she would be able to do to calm her down. After thinking about it for a few moments she decided to use their search as a way to calm her down.

"But now you have a chance to get his forgiveness don't you?" Lin started as she looked at the girl.

"It's not just that. I was just being selfish and self-centered and only prioritised myself. I didn't try to hear my brother's part of the story and just insulted him more." Yan said as she cried more.

"I guess that would hurt him." Lin murmured to herself.

"After that, me and my parents tried to call him but he never took our phones. We thought he was just being angry with us and not taking our calls due to that. But... But... then the police came and, told us that... that he had died..." Yan said as her voice broke as she reached the last sentence.

Lin knew that Yan was hurting from all of this. She knew that if she had done something similar to her own sister Ling then she would be in pain for having her sister go through such things.

Lin sighed to herself before she got up from her seat and sat beside Yan who froze when she felt the woman sit beside her. After that Lin place her right hand tenderly on her back and started to rub her back as a way to help her calm down.

'I was the one who started all of this by divorcing Wen so she might not like me so much. The best I can do is give her a pep talk and this.' Lin thought to herself as she looked at the girl.

"There is nothing you can about it now. The past has already happened and no matter how much you cry it's not going to change any soon. But now, Wen has come back to life, somehow. So this is the perfect chance for you to ask for his forgiveness." Lin said to her as she rubbed the girls back.

"Would he even forgive me? Won't be just ignore me due to how badly I treated him?" Yan asked no one as she cried.

"I don't know. In the end it's up to him whether or not he would forgive you or not." Lin said to her softly.

Yan heard the woman and sniffed as she tried to wipe away the tears. After a few moments she managed to control herself enough that she had managed to stop crying as she wiped the rest of the tears away before she looked at Lin.

"Th-Thank you." Yan said to her.

"Don't worry about it. I think you're reaction is something normal." Lin said to her with a nod.

Yan nodded to her and then the two were silent as they thought about what to do next.

"What are our plans now?" Yan asked the older woman.

"We continue our search for him, nothing more, nothing less." Lin said to her calmly.

'And maybe I could also apologize to him for acting like that a year ago.' Lin thought to herself as she looked in front of her.

After having heard from Yan about how Wen had felt for her she has also started to feel a bit more guilty as she wanted to apologise to him to at the very least make it up with him.

'But still, I also want to know why he never took my job offers even until the end. I just don't understand.' Lin thought to herself as she is confused.

After that they spent some time in the room before they departed from there to work on their own investigations to find Wen.

As the two women were searching for Wen, the man himself is currently with Mingyun at a fancy restaurant. She had invited him to lunch with her and he decided to attend as he considers her his friend.

"I'm happy that you agreed to my invitation brother Wen." Mingyun said to him with a smile.

"You did invite me and it would be rather rude if I were to decline your invitation. Besides, it's nice to be able to talk to you again." Wen said with a smile.

"I'm happy to hear that brother Wan." Mingyun said to him with a smile.

"By the way, how is brother Jing's father doing now?" Wen asked her curiously.

"Oh, uncle is doing fine. He has made a rapid recovery after what you had cured him. Speaking of which, brother Wen, I would like it if you could accompany me to the hospital to talk some things with cousin Jing." Mingyun said to him as she ate.

"It would be my pleasure." Wen said to her with a smile.

After that the two chatted as they ate their food before they made their way to the hospital. They then went to the room where Mingyun's uncle is and saw the man sitting on the bed with a smile on his face. He also looks very healthy now as well.

"Brother Wen, cousin Mingyun. Welcome." Jing said as he greeted the two of them.

"Hey cousin Jing, uncle, it's good to see you." Mingyun said as she walked inside.

Jing's father looked just like his son but a lot older as this can be seen as the two are beside each other. Jing's father looked at Wen as he made his way to him.

"Are you perhaps the one who had cured me?" Jing asked Wen as he looked at him.

"Yes sir. My name is Chen Wen, it's nice to meet you." Wen said as he introduced himself.

"It is nice to meet you Mr. Chen. My name is Wang Jin, Jing's father and Mingyun's uncle. Thank you for saving my life." Jin thanked him with a grateful look.

"It was my pleasure Mr. Wang." Wen said with a smile.

"Still, you saved my life so a good thanks is in order. I do need to repay you for saving my life." Jin said to him with a smile.

"No need for that Mr. Wang. Sister Mingyun and brother Jing have already taken care of that." Wen said to the man with a smile.

"Is that so? Are you sure you don't want anything?" Jin asked him for confirmation.

"Absolutely." Wen said with a smile.

"If that's the case then I won't force anything on you. But still, regrettably, I have another reason to call you here." Jin said to him with a sigh.

"What is it Mr. Wang?" Wen asked him curiously.

"Mr. Wen, I would like you to visit my home and see if there is any problems in there which could've caused me to be in this state." Jin said to him seriously.

"Do you believe that there is something in your home that caused you to be this way?" Wen asked the man seriously.

"Yes. Before I became bedridden, I was starting to get weaker and weaker on own home until I was in this state. I believe that whatever caused me to become like this would be inside my home. I would really appreciate it if you could go and take a look at my home." Jin said as he bowed to him.

Mingyun's and Jing's eyes widened when they saw the man bow to Wen, but they knew the reason he had done it so they didn't say anything.

"There's no need for you to bow to me Mr. Jin, I will take a look at your home and make sure that everything is fine." Wen said to him with a reassuring smile.

"Thank you. I'm very grateful." Jin said in a grateful tone.

"It would be my pleasure to help you Mr. Jing." Wen said with a smile as he looked at the man.
