Archive 30: A man's home is his castle II.

There was no time to have breakfast that morning since it was announced by Pollux that the master was arriving.

Esmeralda looking at the very hungry children assured them that they would be having breakfast once their father was home.

She thought it would be a good opportunity for the whole family to bond since it had been quite some time since they've seen each other.

The entire household waited by the front of the manor, nervously awaiting the duke's arrival.

There was little wind that day and the whole atmosphere was demure and silent. The birds that usually sang every morning were quiet as well, as if knowing what was awaiting them if they did try to sing.

Finally the sound of horses could be heard from the distance. And a large group of people entered the gates making their way towards the entrance.

At the front of the group, there was a person leading the way. Even from a distance Magnus could feel the oppressive energy their emitting.

What an arrogant human being flaunting his power like that. Magnus thought to himself.

[Well he was the power to be arrogant.]

The system commented.

The man in question, who Magnus presumed to be Duke Helio Caesrus the head of the clan appeared before them.

Every attendant and servant in the house bowed their heads. Even Apollon and Aurore had their heads slightly down as a form of respect.

Alastor however did no such thing.

He believed that no human was worthy enough for him to bow his head. This honour was reserved exclusively to his Master and no one else.

Upon looking at the man, he could feel his power. This human was strong. Stronger than anyone he had come across up until now. It almost felt like his power could be close enough to a lower ranked angel which was impressive enough to Magnus but he couldn't be sure since at the moment he was too weak to measure this man's power accurately.

System. He called mentally.

[Yes.]

Is there anyway for me to measure this man's level?

[There is however the results will most likely come out inconclusive since your level is very low.]

This comment annoyed Magnus because he couldn't refute it.

It doesn't matter, I would like to try.

Just then, his screen popped up and he could see that it was loading. A couple seconds later, the man's information was presented to him.

Name: Helio Andreas Caesrus

Level: ???

Title: Head of the Caesrus Clan

Energy: 100%

Holy power: ???

Stamina: ???

Awareness: ???

Potential: SS

What in the world? What was up with these stats? Magnus thought to himself.

Although a majority of them were hidden, the one's that could be seen were quite shocking to say the least.

This man was a monster especially when it came to his energy levels. According to what the system told him previously, having one hundred percent energy levels meant maximum output power and mastery over holy power. Even though he couldn't see his level, he could tell it was off the charts.

What a scary human.

Magnus could feel the beads of sweat forming on his back. Altough he was frazzled on the inside, his outward appearance remained the same. Calm and almost expressionless.

During Magnus' little analysis, Helio could feel something strange happening. It felt like he was being obsersed but not outwardly. He felt like something was eyeing him from within. It was an uncomfortable feeling and he couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. The feeling quickly vanished however, as if it had never been there in the first place.

The feeling was soon replaced with what felt like a pair of eyes watching him. He looked towards the direction of the stare and locked eyes with his youngest son, Alastor.

Upon looking at him, he couldn't recognize him. It felt as though he was looking at someone else. The two stared at each other for five seconds before the boy looked away, his expression remaining the same.

This made Helio frown.

Noticing his master's sudden mood change, Alcyone quickly asked him if something was wrong.

To which he raised his hand dismissing him.

Esmeralda to a step forward, finally adressing the man.

"Welcome home Helio." She said politely.

Helio looked at her for a moment before coming down his horse. He gave her a nod before humming a soft "hmm" in response.

He turned to look at his older sons. Both Aurore and Apollon with their heads still slightly down said in unison: "Welcome home."

The knights who had been decending their horses as well were silently observing the scene. Both boys never looked up and faced their father. As soon as they said their greetings they remained silent.

They then looked at the youngest Caesrus boy expecting him to give his greetings but he said nothing. The boy's face remained expressionless however, to these trained and seasoned knights they could tell that there was more to the boy's face. It looked like he was almost in thought, not paying any attention to what was going on.

They then turned to look at the duchess, expecting her to give him some reprimanding like she usually would be she did nothing.

In fact, she remained where she was smiling as if nothing was wrong with this situation.

This shocked every single one of them. Especially Alcyone.

The master however didn't seem to give it any mind, handed his horse over to an attendant and made his way inside the home.

As soon as he was inside the rest of the household could finally relax. This included the boys.

They each patted Alastor on the head before going inside as well. Esmeralda who hadn't made another move since then reached out for her son, holding him close and guiding him inside the house.

It seemed like he had finally snapped out of his reverie and held on to his mother as well. As he was making his way inside, he could feel a pair of eyes on him, he turned to look at who was looking at him so intently when he made eye contact with the person in question.

He squinted his eyes as if saying "what the hell are you looking at?" before turning around and entering the house.

This left the person in question completely dumbfounded.

The master of the house has finally arrived.
