Chapter XV

Lux POV

I woke up at the sound of laughter and shouts of people outside enjoying their day. I stood up and felt the breaking sensation on my sides... "I'll get used to this someday." I said to myself.

I head out of this tent and see Blue, Zeke, and Zach along with the soldiers playing some kind of a game while the Girls are in the cooking area while Jerimiah was watching the girls cook at the corner. talk about being introverted.

A guy came up to me. "Oh you're awake." he holds his chin. " The funny thing is you're the only one in the group who was beaten to plum, I wonder why?" he seriously said.

I only stared at him because I really can't remember him at all. I think I might have heard his voice somewhere and I can't figure out where.

"You can't remember me huh?" he holds his waist. "I let you borrow my telescope and you can't remember me?"

"Oh, your that guy, neat," I said while trying to recall his name.

I'm not that good at remembering names and faces. I don't know why but it is something I have. this brain of mine...

He nods down as he loses. "The names Leo, remember that," he said and stood straight up again. "By the way, the old man needs you," he immediately walks towards the massive tent at the back.

I followed him all the way there and started to look at the surroundings and I think we have about 5,000 people here in his make-shift fort. we are going to war huh.

The moment I entered the tent I was welcomed by a cold metallic hug, not only it is cold but it also hurts, being crushed by metal is painful enough but add your injury into it, and it turns into torture.

"I finally met you for many years, my nephew." He said and let go of me. "Since you left the now ruined village," he said and sat on his chair. "by the I'm the cousin of your father."

"I don't know you at all," I said as I scratch the back of my head.

"I only saw you when you were an infant and then big events happened that I could not visit." he stared at me from top to bottom. "you turned into a fine gentleman," he said in a teary eye

"hehe..." I embarrassedly scratch my head. "maybe you mistook me for someone. I don't any relative that's royalty." said with a smile.

"His goal is to hide you from his enemies and live a peaceful life, his father also been banished from this land so he left the royal life and hide there for a long time.." He said seriously. "He is also known as one of the champions who defeat the demon lord so he wants to get away from that role. He doesn't want fame so he hid there to live a normal life." he walks towards me and grabs the sword. "It's his sword, he used this to kill the demon lord but after that, this blade was never used in battles."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked.

"Ever since that battle he never uses it or even tries to unsheath it from its case it's like a seal in its place." He said and unsheath it.

his eyes became serious and start mumbling but I can't hear it, he then put it back on its sheath and gave it back to me. "Take care of it. Be sure not get taken by it." He said and sat on the chair. "that's for now nephew I have to do my job now so you may leave and have fun outside."

I nod at him and leave the tent. I joined the others and have a relaxing time before the war. Let's hope everything ends up well.

Leo's POV

I stared at the old man Marcus. "So did you confirm it yourself?" I ask with a grin.

"it looks like George is right, we have to come up with a plan before that time comes." He said while spinning a small knife in his hands.

"I think it's unnecessary," I said with calmness.

"Why do you say so?" He asked.

"I can feel that there's someone you need to worry about more than him," I said and use my air magic to sit mid-air. "I'll take care of Lux."

"You better guard him. as far as I can see he's also being targeted by that anonymous group, so protect him with you got. if the time comes do everything to stop him." He said and drop the knife. "He's your cousin so I guess it's only fair."

"Why do I feel like I'm babysitting him?" I said sarcastically. "Hello, I'm only three years older than him." I wave at his face.

"And yet your more childish than him." he shook his head with a disappointed look.

"What did you say to me?" I said as tackled him.

but grab my head using his big hands. "Do you think you can match me?" he said with a glare.

I escape his grip by turning myself into liquid and springing back into my original body. "Musclehead," I said as I frown.

"your magic is annoying." He said and stare outside the tent. "He has good friends, I think he's in good hands." and sits back on his chair. "Will you tell me now what you saw at the border?"

I fix my clothes and salute him. "Yes Sir."

Lux's POV

"Why did the Grand Collar Knight call you?" Jessica asked while eating the stew that they cook earlier.

"Just asked me about myself, apparently we have a close connection that I didn't know," I said as Gina handed me a bowl.

"What is it?" She asked.

"He's my uncle," I said with a sigh.

Everyone around me stare at me, some nearly spit out their food, and some gagged when they heard what I said.

"What did you say!?" Rachel said and hold me in my shoulders and shake me. "Every day shocks me about your group," she said with a big sigh.

They all continued eating and ask me a lot of questions about how that happened and what are the details but I can only tell them that I don't know because even I was shocked on that news flash, let's just wait and see whether it's true o not.

after that big reveal we change our topics on what happened in the town and how did it go. They said most of the guards successfully captured a few, others escaped and a lot fought until the end of their lives, Zephiel sneak out of the carriage and joined the fight so he's the one who extracted me inside the building and brought me from here while others settle things in the town.

Speaking of Zephiel where is he?

I asked others but they said they don't know so I scanned the environment but I can't see him. I think he's somewhere in a private place in this fort.

Zephiel's POV

February 27

I woke up on a bright sunny day. I head out to do my morning routine and then realize that I am in the fort to fight so I fix everything I can and immediately goes out to then find out that the place is less crowded than usual.

I walk towards the guard. "where's everyone?"

the moment I said that I heard a loud explosion from the distance with the ground shaking. "They are on the battlefield, sir. we are still here to guard the Grand Collars and the commander in stars."

Someone goes out of the big tent and it's Sir Marcus "Why are you here?" He asked. "I thought you're with your platoon?"

"I overslept." I carefully said.

'then whose is the one guiding your troops?" He snatch the telescope from one of the guards and then climbed up the lookout tower so I followed him.

When we arrive he peered through the telescope and then clench his jaw. "That's why that bastard was not showing his face this morning"

I borrowed the telescope and peek on it and I saw Star of Hydra, Leo taking command. He seems to enjoy his time there. he looked in my direction and gave me a wink and then continues finding using my squadron.

"I'll pull him out myself." He said and grab me in my clothes and jumped down.

I thought I'm going to die in there, the outpost has a height on it which proves that the Grand Collar is a beast.

"Grab my horses I'm heading on the battlefield to throw this kid and capture that idiot Leo." He said it with authority. " the horse arrived immediately and the both of us rode it to the battlefield.

When e arrive we were welcomed with arrows and spears but the grand collar deflect it all using his hand as a weapon. I now understand why he has a position that title on him.

As we are approaching my squad Leo notices us and he smiled and tried to fly away, but Sir Marcus pick me up and threw me to Leo and we hit each other fell to the ground with a spinning head.

"I didn't expect that he'll throw me here on purpose," I said as I try to regain my posture.

"That old man is something," he said and try to fly away but sir Marcus grab him on the foot.

"Where do you think you're going huh?" he said to Leo.

"HELP!" He shout as he was getting dragged by sir Marcus.

"You manage your squad and remember no casualties." He said in a serious tone.

I salute him. "Yes, sir."

"Good, now ill bring this bird back in its den." He said as he forcefully drag Leo out of here.

My squad shakes its head while with a sigh. "We told him that we'll for you but he keeps on insisting to lead us and look at him now." They all laugh.

"I guess let's continue as usual." The other knight said.

someone walked up to me and bow. "What are your orders, sir?"

"Follow my lead, I'll bring you to victory," I said and we joined the battle between the dwarves. "Remember our only goal is to push back them so let's avoid killing as much as possible.

They all salute me. "Yes sir!"

together with my squad we rush out and help the others in the fight. Let's end it as fast as possible.
