Chapter XII

Lex's POV

"Dear Mercenaries,

I would like you to assist our nation's guard to protect our nation against the dwarves of the draught kingdom. Those dwarves are rot in greed they seek treasures and natural resources that can only be obtained here in our kingdom. I am asking you to give aide to our soldiers. We thank you for your cooperation, your rewards will be received after the war subsided.

From the castle of Lycian, King Zephyr." I read inside the scroll.

"Hmm... Interesting." Cleru said.

I stared at him with wide eyes and looked at Rachel's reaction and she was very shocked so I looked back at cleru and gave him 'what have you done look.

"what? I haven't done anything," she said as she goes back to sleep.

"W-wha---" She faints so I stood up and catch her in my arms.

"Hoo! I clutch that catch" I gently make her sit on the bench. "Hey wake up," I said as I wiggle her to wake up.

"What have you done Lux?" Jessica said behind me with a concerning eye.

I explained what happened and why she's here so instead of waiting for her to wake up I carry her in the back and walk towards the entrance on the other side to meet her ground.

When we arrived we saw a lot of carriages waiting at the entrance along with Rachel's group. When they saw the state of their lead I told them what happened early but surprisingly enough they are not shocked as Rachel.

"Sure they are rare but they are not legend so I think it's not that a big of a deal." shan Stared at Rachel "but for well, you know what I mean."

I hop on the carriage and with Gina, Blue, Helios, and Rachel, while the others are in their other carriage on the way to the castle. The escorts said that we have to first gather at the palace for the king to see who are the mercenaries that accepted his biding.

As we travel along we saw a vast grassland with a lot of flowers that looks wonderful. Gina just stared at it with a straight face but I know she likes flowers. I just feel it.

We can also see from afar the tundra mountain and the inactive volcano of Vulcan. it is said in the legends that if a great calamity is about to come this volcano will erupt resetting the whole Lycian region from the start.

Let's hope that calamity is not yet upon us, it may be a legend but it's not that bad to assume that it might happen eventually.

As we pass through terrains I thought to myself when will I be able to find m sister. Some may say she may be dead but for me, I think not. She's alive somewhere I can feel it.

February 27

We arrived here at midnight so we were escorted immediately to the sleeping quarters to get some rest but for some reason, It's been two hours now and I still haven't gotten my sleep yet.

I stood up and walk up the stairs to go to the walls just to admire a starry night, maybe I can finally get tired enough to sleep through the night. I look above me and saw stars display all over the sky like there's traffic going on. Many would have thought the night sky is always the same but for me, I can see it changing it's subtle but I can see.

I started liking stars at the beginning of this journey it just feels like yesterday but It's been days before I have only one goal but it changes when I met this group of mine. At least now I have something I want to protect.

"Can't sleep?" I heard a voice from behind but I know who it is.

Gina's POV

I woke up to the sound of the door closing and I have an idea who it got out. I tried going back to sleep again but I can't seem to do it. I head outside and upon the walls gazing at the lovely stars above. I know it may seem abundant but it's still relaxing to look at, even the clouds up above compliments the starry sky this evening.

Walk up the stairs and slowly approach him. While I walk towards him I've been thinking about what to say that's not awkward for the both of us. Can I say 'awake?' no I can't say that it'll end in a silent note, how about 'hey, what's up?' seems like a boyish thing to do, I've kept thinking and I finally have a thing to say.

"Can't sleep?" I said in my monotone voice.

"Seems like it." he grabs my hands and pulls me a little closer to him. "Let's star gazing since we both can't sleep." he smiled innocently.

My heart jumps for a moment. seems like my heart won't stop beating, I was about to hate but the look on his safe makes me want to like this feeling. I don't know what I feel but I somewhat wanted to like it.

"Have I heard star gazing?" a random stranger pop out in front of us flying while holding a telescope. "sorry for being rude I'm Leo nice to meet you."

"Oh hey, how's going?" Lux said cheerfully.

"Not much but I heard a relative of mine is here to pay a visit, by the way here's a telescope I'll let you borrow this." He said to place the telescope beside us.

"Thank you." lux said with sparkling eyes.

"No worries." He stood up and jump on the wall. "if you're done just leave it here I'll come by again and pick this up, Goodbye lovers!" he said as he disappear into the distance.

"No, where not!" We both said in a chant.

We stare at each other laugh. this will be interesting. the both of us keep switching to look at the telescope. We both haven't tried one so It's fascinating to see stars and planets from this point of view. they are much more wonderful than we thought they would be.

Leo's POV

"You found what are you looking for Leo?" his majesty said with a glorious smile.

I think I found it." I said as I casually flew side by side in front of him.

"How's your meeting then?" he asked

"I think it went well then I anticipated it to be," I said as I sat on his Majesties balcony.

He looked at me with a forced smile. "Why are you smiling like that?" I asked.

"You're done goofing off right?" He said with a forced smile again.

"Yeah?" I said in a question.

"Then get them out of here and go at borders!" He shouts at me so I laugh

"But I'm tired," I said scratching my stomach, He gave a terrifying gaze so I make a cross sign out of my hands. "Chill... I'll go once they're done with my telescope," I said as I point at my thing.

"Agh... Fine. You're pretty stubborn as my follower." He said in a sigh. "But that's what I like, at least I know your not gonna betray me."

"Why would I?" I said and we both laugh.

"Have fun, I'll just do my job... ugh... paperwork," he said as he enters his room.

I guess that's that. I watch both of them enjoy their time together. looking at both of them makes me happy but also bitter. why can't I find a girl I love tch. I watch them for about an hour until they decided to go back to their living quarters.

I head there. stare at what they are looking and I was fascinated by it. I haven't seen things before what a nice sight to see. well, time to pack up or his majesty will scold me again.

I have a long way to travel... good luck to me.

Roy's POV

"We both keep on switching places as we stare at a gorgeous sight I saw. I think this will leave a mark on my heart and my soul, doing something like this makes me want to jump in joy. that's for me for now my journal." I read this last paragraph with a sigh.

When will I experience looking at something like that? I haven't tried it.

"What are you sighing for?" the vice president as she double-checks the work of our editors.

"Nothing just need a breather," I said and helped her with the papers.

"What is it," she asked.

"Nothing really," I said with a big smile.

"Just tell me." She insisted.

"Fine, I want to try a telescope," I said with a smile.

"Oh, I think we have one at home. It's very old but it's functional." She said that gave me a genuine smile.

"Let's star gaze!" I said with joy.

"Later," she said and continues to work.

"Is it for real?" I asked as I tease her.

"Yeah so do your work or else I'll cancel it." She said in authority.

"Yes ma'am!" I said as I salute.

I guess we'll be having a stargazing tonight. I'm excited about what to see in the starry night sky later. I hope it's a fun night for both of us.
