February 23

Lux's POV

It's morning and we're currently waiting for Jessica to arrive since she was accompanied by Zach to collect the Hair dye so we can make Helios, The wolf a new color so we are here stuck in this room waiting for her to arrive.

"I'm bored... Let's head out now it's pretty boring here..." Helios said while I pet him.

"You should wait until Jessica arrives," I said to him, and he nods.

I keep on petting him when Blue arrives with a piece of bread in its mouth.

"Is it delicious?" Helios asked.

He holds his bread. "Yep, and I'm not sharing," Blue said as he continues to eat the bread.

Helios is upset until he tackles Blue and takes a bite on his bread. "Yeah, it's Delicious!" Helios keeps on biting Blue's bread.

Blue pulled it from the wolf and started chomping it until he finished it. "Heh. Told ya, you can't have the last bite."

"I see in your pocket you have another one..." Helios said as he slowly approaches Blue.

"No, you can't!" Blue run into the room as Helios keeps on chasing him

"Just a tiny nimble," Helios said as he chases Blue.

"Nope, not a chance!" Blue said as he keeps on running.

Both of them keeps on running around even though they almost trip because of the fast running until Jeremiah stood up and look at the two kid with a scary look. He closed him and the moment he opened the two of them got a head smack from him.

"You're too loud. I can't rest properly." He said as he lay down once again in his bed.

"It's your fault," Helios said to him.

"Me? Excuse me!" Blue shouted at him.

"Hush or I'll burn you two alive," Jeremiah said as he gave the two a death glare.

"Like I said I'll stay quiet," Blue said as he pushes Helios away from his pocket.

"So unfair," Helios said and lay down on the floor.

I just laughed at the but Jeremiah stared at me so I shut my mouth and just smile. I guess it's better to stay quiet, while we are here sitting and keeping our mouth shut we heard footsteps coming towards us and Jessica come in.

"I'm here!" Jessica said in excitement. "Ummm... Why is this room quiet?" Jessica asked.

"Nothing," I said to her.

She talked about everything that happens to her earlier as she and Zach find the hair dye and also teaches her how to apply it to she did but she said it will take time to have an effect since it needs to dry.

We talked for a bit until it's dry, it only takes us about 3 hours to dry so we still have time to go shop for our things and we did, but instead of joining together we decided to split up so it will be quicker for us to get what we need, I am joined by Helios since I'm his owner so I need to take care of this wolf here.

The first shop I head to is the potion shop, I can sense that we are gonna face a lot more deadly missions, and since we are mercenaries we expect to be in the war zone soon enough.

I also head to the blacksmith to repair my gear and weapon so I can just drop by here tomorrow if we're gonna start another hunting quest tomorrow, we don't have time today to get one since it takes us ages to dry the dye and the mission are always si far away from this town.

As I walk back to the inn Helios stop and looks at me. "Can you carry me? I'm so tired hehe." Helios said as he scratches his head.

I pick him up and carry him in my back. "There you go, little guy," I said as I carry him.

"Umm... can I ask you a question?" Helios asked

"Yep. What is it?" I answered him.

"Why did you take me as your pet?" He said while holding in my shoulders. "I didn't mean that I don't like it, but you see I'm a dire wolf a savage wolf that ever, and also I'm a unique one, stronger and faster than the alpha dire wolf so why?"

"Hmm... I guess I have a soft spot when it comes to wolves, my father also owns a wolf before he disappeared, but I like that dog it's close to us as a real dog and then he was one of the casualties in the war 10 years ago, dad went missing and hasn't come back yet so yeah. To sum it all up I just love wolves." I said with sparkly eyes.

"Creep," Helios said as he slowly removes his head from my neck.

"Hey, I was joking." The moment I said that Helios bite my shoulder for a short period and then let go. "uh... what was that for?"

"It's a blood pact since I'm a unique type I can from a blood pact to my owner so I'll know where are you or are injured or not." He explained. "I can pinpoint your location if you're near my radar if I say."

"Why does it need to be a bite?" I asked him.

"Hehe, I just want to feel what flesh tastes like because I haven't tasted one since I'm born." He said as he chuckles. "Blood pact can be formed if I have swallowed your blood so biting is kinda necessary but also not." He laughed at my back

"You tiny creature..." I said as I hold my temper.

"Oh, the skies are raging. We better be quick before it starts pouring down at us." Helios said

I just nod at him and run towards the inn, I run as fast as I could but it's not my luck today so I'm here standing under the roof of the inn soaking wet.

"Agh... this day gives good vibes," I said sarcastically.

While I was trying to reduce the water in my clothes I saw my party members also soaking wet except for the girls that are holding an umbrella.

"Oh, Hey guys you three look like a wet stray dog in the streets," Jessica said as she laughs out loud.

"Let's just go inside," Gina said calmly as she walks towards us.

"Okay then!" Jessica said cheerfully.

Jessica was the first one to enter followed by the two boys and Helios, Before Gina entered she stand beside me while trying to close her umbrella.

"You should go inside immediately and dry your clothes or you'll catch a cold." She said as she finishes closing her umbrella and walk past me.

"I guess I should go," I said to myself as I walk this hallway.

When I arrived at the room I immediately took off my clothes and hang them and have a nice hot bath, after I finish I immediately head straight to our room and saw Jeremiah was covered in blankets while shivering. I checked his temperature and he's burning hot. I went straight to the girl's room to inform them si Gina followed me to our room to check on him.

"You're delicate when it comes to illness huh," Gina said coldly.

"Not fault," Jeremiah said and then coughed.

"Blue, get up there and get this medicine in the store," Gina ordered Blue as she writes something on the paper.

"Why me!? I'm tired you know." Blue complained to her but Gina just stares at him with a straight face. "Fine... I'll go then." He said with a sad expression.

Poor him. He's always the errand boy of Gina when we're adventuring together. She always does that.

"Is he always like this?" I asked Gina.

"Yep, since he's just a kid." She replied.

"Oh," I said because I don't know what to say at this point.

I laughed at myself on the inside. This is so not me, being awkward, and something like that.

I went outside to look at the weather and it's bad. it's so windy on the outside joined with heavy rains and thunder. luckily we head back before everything gets worse.

"I'm back," Blue said while panting. "Here's the med." He said as he sits on the floor.

"You have to stay all-nighter to check on him." Gina makes Jeremiah drink the meds and put a warm handkerchief in his head. "If I catch you falling asleep I'll rip your face off." She said as she fled the room.

"Why is it always me... Is this the curse of those younger people?" He said as he sulks in the corner.

I just lay down on my bed because I was tired of walking around the streets and doing some prep work, Helios was already sleeping so I joined him in the bed and sleep for the night.

February 24

Gina's POV

The first thing I did in the morning was to drink my coffee and head straight to where Lux's room is since he is with my brother and Blue.

my eyes wander around the room but Jessica is not there. that's random.

The moment I opened the door I saw Blue trying his best not to sleep as he read the book on the bookshelf near his bed.

"You're done so you can rest," I said to him with a husky voice.

It's morning and my voice is not awake yet. He didn't say anything and lay down on his bed and have a nice snooze.

I stare at Jeremiah who just woke up. "How are you?" I asked him.

"Doing great I guess." He sat on his bed and do some stretches.

I look around the room and saw no sign of Lux in the area, I can only see Helios sleeping in his bed. Where did he go to?

"Have you seen Lux? I asked Jeremiah.

"Nope. I just woke up." He said as he drinks his medicine.

I immediately walk towards Blue and wake him up. "What's your errand again?" He sound's so tired.

Blue immediately sit up and stare at me with his emotionless face.

"Have you seen Lux?" I asked him.

"He's doing his daily jog, He should be arriving now." He said and then continued his sleep.

Right after he said that I heard footsteps coming towards here but it stopped and heard like he's talking to someone. I immediately walk out of the room then saw Jessica and Lex talking to each other. I immediately hide behind the barrel

Why am I hiding? I don't know really.

"So What's the next good thing we can get in the quest guild?" Jessica asked Jessica. "Since I'm waiting for you outside I couldn't see what you picked," Jessica explained.

so they went to the guild and according to their outfit they did a jog, how lovely, so sweet... Why does it sound bitter?

"I'm thinking about raiding another orc base since they are starting to grow in numbers, according to the tavern they are gathering equipment and they have a lot of fighters in them, joined by the Goblins and we have experienced so why not?" Lux said to Jessica.

"that's a nice one we should tackle before someone takes it," Jessica replied to Lux.

Lux goes near her and opens the map on the table and stares at it for a long time.

"What are you looking at?" Jessica asks as they touch their shoulder.

"The location of the camp," Lux said as he stares at it. "They said in the...west of the town."

"There's a possibility it's inside the forest where they usually do to keep the camp hidden from the intruders," Jessica said as she points at the location.

"they've not hidden anymore since we knew it already," Lux said as they both high five.

"Oh, look how close they are," I whispered sarcastically.

I'm pissed off for some strange reason and I don't know why.

"Let's get it tomorrow since Jeremiah was not in a good condition right now," Lux said as he put his shoulder on his waist.

"So let's head back to our room then," Jessica said as she heads to our room.

Lux walks towards my position so I panicked and knock the barrel in front of me and make a sound.

"Who's there?" Lux said as he approaches my location.

I tried to mimic the sound of the cat and it did not stop him to walk towards my location so I closed my eyes that he would stop.

Lux's POV

I heard the noise of a cat but it sounds so different so I carefully approach the barrel and when I look at it I saw a stray black cat scratch its back.

"Ow, it's just a cat, " I said to myself.

I picked it up and walk towards the room where Gina and Jessica sleeping.

"Why are you here?" Gina asked as she read the book in her hands.

"I saw this cat earlier at the back of the barrel, at first I thought it was a person but I saw this pretty weird right?" I said to Gina.

"Yeah, pretty WEIRD," Gina said with an emphasis on the weird word.

"Nah, it's not," The cat said as she forces her way out of my hand and sleeps on the bed Jessica.

"Oh, it talks," Gina said calmly.

"Yeah, I'm kinda not new at it though," I said calmly like Gina.

"That's a cute cat," Jessica said without realizing that it talks.

"I know right. I heard that so often these days, " The cat said as she continues to sleep.

"Ow sorry--" Jessica froze for a second. "YOU TALK!" Jessica said as she moves into the corner of her bed. "Aren't you two realize that this cat right here talked?" Jessica said to us.

"Nah, " I said to her. "I have a talking animal so not much of a surprise though."

"I don't even care," Gina said as she kept on reading the book.

"ARE YOU TWO SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?" Jessica said as she yells at us.

I didn't pay attention to Jessica as she pushed the cat off the bed but it teleports in the bed. so it teleports huh? Interesting, I hope my pet has some strange power or something like that.

Gina's POV

"By the way Gina, Your book is upside down," Lux said seriously.

I immediately flipped it so he won't notice that I'm not reading it just an act.

"I knew that," I said as sarcastically as possible.

"Just kidding," Lux said with a grin on his face.

Instead of flipping the book back, I threw it at his face in anger.

"Ouch, I'm just messing with you..." Lex said while he scratches his cheeks.

"Just leave." I pushed him out of this room and closed the door. "That man right there pisses me off," I said to myself.

"Lucky you, this cat keeps on teleporting and it's annoying for me." She said as she pushes it. "Fine. I'll let you sleep here."

"Thank you." The cat said as she sleeps.

I guess both of them are starting to get close now, but I'm still pissed off because of Lux. What a day to ruin it...
