Nancy didn't know what to say. She regretted saying what she had just said but she wanted her answers.
"You will not understand it," Samuel told her politely, still looking at the ceiling. "No matter how many times I explain it, no one will understand it."
"At least explain so I can pretend to understand." Nancy pouted.
Samuel smiled again. He was smiling a little too much. Nancy felt strange for some reason. Rather than being happy, she felt scared. What if this moment was not to last?
"I shall accompany you to the US," Samuel announced. "Sir should not have to suffer any longer just because I cannot accept reality." He added.
