Chapter 12

Az's P.O.V

He mentioned a bar and I do remember flashes of a bar last night. He doesn't seem to be lying so I took some time to recall everything that I passed off as a dream.

I woke up in an unfamiliar alley. The people here are weird. The chain, Eliza. I quickly felt my neck, it was empty. So if the chain incident did happen, then everything else had to be true too because judging by this man's house, he's doing really well to the point that my chain would be disposable income. I don't see him stealing it. The bar. A stranger. Who was that anyway? They smelt good.

I do hope that me yelling for Matt to send up an omega to satisfy me wasn't real. If it was, this is fucking embarrassing. Had he heard me yell that or did I dream it? I had thought something was wrong since I never met any omegas who were hunks but he was hot as fuck, so I didn't mind. No wonder. He must think I'm mad. Someone tried this on me I would've killed them already. It's a miracle I'm still alive. I turned to him curiously.

"Why am I not dead?"

"I've been wondering the same thing since I saw you."

"Did you happen to be at the bar last night?"

"Why'd you want to know?"

"Someone tried robbing me."

He started laughing. Genuinely chuckling. "What's so funny?"

"Nothing. It's just, what are you going to do even if you know who it was?"

"I'll get them punished, and rightfully so. They really don't know who I am."

"And who are you?"

"I think you've heard enough about it already."

"Hm. Not really"

"What do you want to know?"

"Why do you think you're a king?"

"Soon to be, king. I don't think, I am."

"Yeah, yeah. And I'm God."

"Who?"

He stared at me with a really look. Am I supposed to know who that is?

"You aren't a Christian?"

"No. I'm an Alpha."

"And so am I."

"Really? Why did you block your scent? You can unblock it, I'm an Alpha, it won't affect me. Gosh finally, I was beginning to think everyone here was weird."

"I'm joking."

"So, what are you? A beta? You really don't look like an Omega to me," I looked him up and down, "but then again, who am I to say." I smirked.

"I'm neither. But if I had to choose, I'd go with Alpha."

"You just said you weren't. And you don't get to choose, it's how you're born."

"Aren't we a little too old to be playing a game of pretend?"

"You were the one that wanted to know."

"Yeah, seriously. Putting all the bullshit aside, where are you from?"

"I already told you."

"That isn't a country. It's not even an area in a country. At least not one from here. Is that on a different continent?"

"Now we're on the same page. It could be. Maybe I was kidnapped by another species and taken to a different continent. Which continent is this?"

"Yeah, I am the alien that brought you to North America."

"You don't look it," I winked, "What continent is that? Actually, it doesn't matter because there is no continent by that name. Is it known as something else? The only thing I could think of is that this is vampire territory, but the people don't really look like vampires at all. Can you flash your fangs?"

"I hate to say this, but I have actual work to do and I can't sit here in your pretend game much longer. Either you get to talking or you'd have to entertain yourself. If you don't want my help, then spare me the nonsense and be upfront."

"I didn't say that now, did I, Sweetheart?"

"And cut that out."

"Cut what out?"

"The fucking names. We're grown men, act like it."
