Crown Of Hearts

***Together, they were like fire and ice.*** Damon pursued, ready to conquer while Alexander ran, trying so hard to remain cold and guarded. Alexander had thought guarding the sick crown prince was something so easy until he found himself cruelly yet so innocently tempted. ***excerpt*** "You will stay the hell away from me." Alexander threatened, his voice hard and tortured as he tried to recover from his emotional rollercoaster. "Oh really?" Damon drawled as he held up a wine glass to his lips, taking a sip as his eyes looked at the man that was standing quite a distance from him, ready to bolt. "Yes and I mean it your highness." Alexander replied and he watched the mischievous gleam that entered the prince's clear blue eyes that were quite a welcome compliment to his thick silver hair. "Alright." he relented and Alexander blinked, surprised but his relief lasted for seconds. "We will see how far you can run my honorable knight. Oh and just so you know, I love a good chase." Damon assured and it didn't take Alexander ages to know that he had close to no winning chance when it came to this one man. Oh yes, he was doomed...so sweetly doomed.... ... let me ravish you

Alexander's face burned as he watched Damon approach him only to stop a few steps away again, not coming as close as he had expected.

The tease was killing him.

"What will you have me do?" He asked, feeling a little helpless at the statement he didn't have a reply to.

Damon smirked, his lips curled to match the delivish twinkle in his eyes.

You could let me... ravish you.

He thought but looking at the man that looked a bit uncomfortable, he decided to change his reply to a more light hearted teasing.

"You could take responsibility for your actions." Damon replied and the question was clear in Alexander's eyes.

How in heaven was he supposed to do that!?

Before any of them could say another word, the door swung open and the royal family walked in just in time to save a totally flustered Alexander.

"Oh Damon, honey. I was so worried." The Queen admitted as she rushed and hugged him.

Damon was used to his mother's sweet and a bit too much love but he hugged her back with a small smile.

She was one of his most favorite people. A person that he could tell anything without the fear of being judged too harshly.

"I am fine mother." He assured as she pulled away from the hug.

His father gave him a soft smile, congratulating him on his recovery while his diabolical twin sisters smiled mischievously, glad that the singular subject for their playful torture was back.

The youngest, Davon, was more like their father, his face warm and his smile comforting as he looked at him.

Damon loved his family, even his troublesome sisters too.

"It's good to have you back brother. Now could you be indulging and tell us who your passionate lover is?" Davina asked, her voice filled with curiosity and mischief.

Okay, not so much.

Damon changed his last thought as his eyes shot daggers at Davina.

"Yes do tell us Damon, yours truly, is dying from curiosity." Daphne backed up her sister and Damon wished the ground could open up and swallow him.

Did they really have to ask such questions with their parents around!?

"Have you not heard the saying... Curiosity killed the cat, in this case, it's the plural.

Curiosity killed the cats my beloved sisters." Damon retorted and Alexander stifled a laugh. This family was an interesting one.

"But satisfaction brought them back." Daphne insisted and Damon wished he could grab and shake her shoulders really hard or maybe put a huge bug in her bed. Daphne feared insects. It was something she had never outgrown from her childhood.

"Okay, enough of your bickering. Let's leave your brother to have his rest." His mother saved him and Damon flashed her a grateful smile as she shooed his sisters away.

Queen Eleanor stayed behind after successfully chasing everyone from the room. She wanted to have a word with Damon.

"Damon...If you have found someone that you fancy, you can tell me. I will be okay with cancelling the meeting arrangements with the princesses if that's what you want." She said carefully as she sank into a chair, regarding her son with a motherly gaze.

Damon sat down on the bed, his face serious as he contemplated his thoughts.

Telling his mother that he was currently pursuing a man was certainly not the best course of action. The shocked look that could cover her face at the revelation was enough to make Damon keep the information to himself.

"I slept with someone sometime back. I was drunk when it happened." He admitted, omitting some details of the truth.

She flashed him an understanding smile, encouraging him to say more.

Damon estimated the time he could need to successfully seduce Alexander.

A week or two at most and he had more chances of succeeding if the princesses were around.

Jealousy was one powerful emotion. One that he wanted to evoke within Alexander and prompt him to act.

He returned his mother's smile, his mind made up.

"You don't have to cancel the arrangements, mother. I will meet these princesses." Damon said and she watched him with a keen look, trying to fully fathom his reply.

She didn't not look so convinced that he wanted this.

"I hope you are not doing this to make me happy." She confessed what was bothering her.

"No, I am doing this for me." He assured her. He was telling the truth. Damon was doing this for the future of his and Alexander's relationship.

Her eyes softened.

"Alright, I have already sent out invitations, the first princess you will meet will be expected within a couple of days. If you like her, she will stay longer so that you two can get to know each other." She explained and Damon smiled, trying his best to appear interested.

"Thank you, mother. For everything." He said his voice sincere.

She rose from her seat and walked over to him, placing a kiss on top of his head.

"You are welcome dear. You should rest some more." She replied and turned to walk to the door when he nodded.

"Will you be able to attend dinner?" She asked.

Damon's eyes sparkled as he got an idea on how to torture his knight.

They had to finish their interrupted conversation.

"I will request to have it brought to my room. I don't think I am able to walk for long distances yet." He replied and watched his mother walk out before he threw his head back and waited for his food.

Damon was quite famished after his long slumber.

Once his meal arrived, he thanked the maid and politely told her to call his knight inside.

Alexander entered the room, his face straight as he looked at Damon.

What did this prince want now?

"Don't stand that far. I promise I won't bite." Damon said, quite irritated because the man had his back pressed against the door.

Alexander gulped as he stepped closer, ignoring the teasing.

"Why did you call for me, Damon?" He asked, his face as serious as he could make it.

Damon pulled on an innocent face, inwardly pleased that this man was calling him by his name.

"So that we could finish our interrupted conversation." He replied frankly and Alexander felt the tips of his ears burn and his throat tighten from the frustration that was stirring up within him at this man's words and actions.

He felt like he was being toyed with.

"What exactly are you doing?" Alexander asked, trying to get him to stop using subtle actions and teasing words to mess with his mind and emotions.

Damon blinked, his face that of an angel. So cunningly innocent.
