Chapter 09- Beginning of the Truth Hunt

Zagreus was carrying Yona in her arms to the court of the underworld where Hades was sitting in the throne. As soon as He saw Zagreus carrying Yona He glared at him and snapped his fingers. Then Yona jumped down from Zagreus's as she kicked him in a--- difficult place..

"Aww.." Zagreus growled while smirking.. "That hurts baby sis."

"Stop clinging on to me, You fool.." Yona started bickering while pushing away the man clinging on to her. 

"Aww.. You are openly cursing me now. you have already grown up. how sad." Said Zagreus while wiping an invisible tear.

"You are just 5 minutes older than me!" Yona protested and continued bickering. Zagreus was laughing at her but somehow one could say that in his eyes there was only delight to see his dear little sister. Hades also saw this, that is why he has yet to stop them from fooling around in the Court where so many dead people were waiting for their punishment on knees. Yona was yet to notice this.

After bickering for a while alongside with Zagreus, Yona noticed that hades was looking at her. Everyone around who has seen Melinoe before can tell what her next move was. 

"Daddy---" Yona was screaming as she was already on the way up to the throne. 

Normally she would use her powers to go up there but now that she is a mortal and float in the air would take much of her mana which she need to preserve in case if she need to sneak out. After all she was kidnapped. 

but well, never mind actually, There were so many stairs left to her to climb up. and Her mortal body was too tired to even move when she had only climbed up 100 stairs. It was amusing to Zagreus to see his playful sister who never got tired of anything, to be tired just after climbing a mere staircase.

Even Hades who was always pretty cold to anyone other than his wife and children was trying not to laugh at Yona who was struggling to climb up the stairs. But then he thought to himself, what would happen if his daughter got angry and he could imagine the sinful mortal souls who were waiting for their punishments being destroyed into pieces by the anger of Melinoe. Thus he intervened.

Hades used his power to make Yona float high up and she landed right on his lap. as soon as she got on her fathers' lap she hugged him real tight. 

"I-... I really missed you father..." Said Yona with a low sound. everyone could tell she was trying to hide that she was crying.

Hades was about to hug her back when she pulled away while laughing in off. Which surprised Hades and others who were waiting for an emotional reunion. 

"Daddy.. You are still super handsome just as you used to be.. even though You are pretty old now.." Yona laughed while clinging on to his arm. Hades didn't respond but he had this little smirk on his face which made everyone know he was happy of this rather pleasant compliment. 

Yona looked down at the audience because she heard some cries. actually she did hear them before but she never paid any attention to it. 

That's when she realized that there were so many sinners gathered in the court of death, they were kneeling as Grim reapers guarded behind them. and some Grim reapers who were high in rank were sitting beside Zagreus . The Throne of Persephone was empty because she was visiting the heaven to see her mother.

"Oh dear.. so many of them.. But well I get it. these days law is so fragile." Yona mumbled as she rested her head on Hades' lap. 

"Today session was a little late. so I think we should just go ahead and cancel it" Zagreus spoke up while drinking some wine.

"What.. it's been a while seeing this. don't be mean, Big brother" Yona said with a cheeky smile which made Zagreus shut up and sit down immediately.

"Begin" Hades' voice silenced every other voice in the room. his red eyes were glowing and somehow all the sinners were extremely horrified. But well Yona, on the other hand was playing with hades' long dark hair while eating a grape.

The sinners' punishments were revealed to the court as the court discussed and declared the punishment. normally in the past Melinoe would have intervened and just punish them without much thinking but now she is different. she keenly observed what need to be done and reported it swiftly. Everyone noticed this other than Yona herself. After the court ended Yona and Zagreus followed hades for a walk. And Yona wanted to see her pet, Cerberus..

"I want to take Cerberus home. I am sad to leave him behind." Said Yona while petting Cerberus' ears.

"Home?" Zagreus asked. "You mean the mortal realm?"

"Yeah.. Well.. I am a mortal so that should be my home" Yona said with an awkward smile. "hey..! You are not planning to keep me her, are you?"

"What if we are?" Hades who was silent the whole time spoke up.

"Well.. I-.. as much as I would love to stay here, I want to go back. I have to go back" Yona answered looking down. 

"Sorry, baby sis but not now." Zagreus pulled Yona closer again trying to look deeper in to her eyes but the moment he did that he flew away. hades didn't move and watched them.

"You think I will fall for the same trick again, Big Brother." Yona looked down at Zagreus who was bleeding from his eyes. Her eyes were red as blood. just like hades.

"Ha ha, very impressive Mel." Said Zagreus while getting up getting up. his eyes were healing already. 

"Even in your Mortal for you are formidable. But-" Zagreus had hundreds of swords pointed at Yona. 

"Those swords are still the same. but you won't use it" Yona smirked.

"Why do you think that, have I not fought with you before, how many times have you been pierced by those same swords." Zagreus raised his hand to release the swords.

"have you forgotten I am a mortal now." Yona spoke up but flinched for a moment. 

"Gin" Yona mumbled.

"You are summoning your lap dog-" Zagreus was interrupted as Gin appeared all covered in blood.

"Gin" both Yona and Zagreus shouted as they both got to him. Zagreus used healing power on Gin. He was trembling.

"Hey. focus Zagreus." Yona shouted as she used healing power too. Then Gin woke up.

"Ah- Ma- Master Zagreus and Master melinoé." he spoke up but was interrupted by Zagreus who hugged Gin tightly. Yona who took the message moved away. Actually Zagreus who is almighty and arrogant is extremely soft when it comes to Love. that's right. Gin is the lover of Zagreus. the tale is very popular throughout the underworld. after giving sometime for them, Yona approached Gin.

"Gin, What happened to you?" Yona asked while looking at Gin but Zagreus intervened. as if trying to hide something. But Yona somehow felt like something was wrong. 

"Do you wish to go back?" hades who were silent spoke up as all of them turned to him.

"Yes. I do, Father." Yona looked at Hades with eyes of determination. She felt like something was wrong and she needed to find out what it is. and she knew even if she asked others they won't answer. 

Hades laughed. he was thinking how she resemble her mother so much. the same stubbornness and the seriousness only when it's necessary. 

"Fine, Go back-" Hades spoke up.

"Father" Zagreus shouted.

"However, Only a year. You can only stay there for a year. I will make the necessary requirements for you to ascend again. That is an order." Hades demanded.

Yona was silent for sometime and nodded. Zagreus who was frowning vanished with Gin who was on his arms. 

Yona felt as if something was beginning. With no idea what is it or how will it affect her, she decided to step on the fire anyway.
