| 24 - Unknown Caller ID

♍ Andres' P. O. V.♍

Seeing her cry hurts more than knowing the reason for her cry was regret. Regret-- because of what happened between us. Thinking back about it stirred up something inside me.

She's still bare while I am wearing my pants.

She's trying to suppress her sobs and heaves. I could tell how much she regretted instantly what we did. I, on the other hand, couldn't conceal the joy of knowing she didn't protest but not the same as she didn't respond.

I sat next to her and she instantly cover herself with the dress she wore. She looked away sniffling.

"Love..." I trailed off. "Maybe you should wear your dress so you can change upstairs and we'll go out somewhere you want. Request wherever you want to go."

She sniffs and took a deep breath. "Umm, y-yeah. Just tu-turn around first."

I did as she said with a smile on my face. After what happened she still shies away.

Once she was dressed, I carried her to our room to be ready.

AN HOUR LATER

We are inside the car on our way to the hospital with me watching her occasionally as she rubs her baby bump affectionately. I take a hold of her right hand while I drive. She looked down at our interlocked hands and looked up at me.

To my surprise, she squeezed my large hand with her smaller one and smiled at me. The next thing I knew, my cheeks are reddened.

What!

Did she just make me blush?

She looked down suppressing her giggles by covering her mouth.

"Don't rub it in!" I probably sounded like a high school girl being fluttered by her crush.

She finally gave up and let go of her giggles. Music to my ears!

"You're making fun of me, huh?" I chortled and pulled over to the side.

I know how to make her stop making fun of me. I removed her and my seatbelt and pulled her on my lap.

"How about I rub you on me?" I rasped which instantly made her stop with a gasp.

"I, uh, I'm fine," she murmured nervously and tried to get off me but I tighten my hold on her abdomen.

"How about now?"

"I don't want to," she whispered.

I knew she would say that. It has to be a given. Knowing this pretty woman, she doesn't want to show it.

"Then why?" She hops off my lap and sat back on the passenger seat and gave me a questioning look. "Why did you allow me at the study? I want to know whether what happened was a mistake again!"

"Can we not talk about it," she pleaded.

"I understand."

My phone suddenly went off.

"Excuse me, Mia Amore. I'll take this call."

"Okay," she whispered.

I picked up the call to see the caller ID is unknown. "Who is this?" I asked coldly.

"That's not how to answer the phone now, Richard, is it?" Richard? What! Who is this bastard?

"Who do you think you are!" I growled.

He responded with what I dreaded and hated the most. "You don't have to know who I am but I am the wolf after your pregnant woman."

My blood is boiling in anger if not for the tiny hand that caused an electrical eruption that easily calms me down.

I took a deep breath and hung up.

"Amari, maybe we'll go out tomorrow. Is it okay with you? Something came up."

In a split second, I saw disappointment pass her eyes but she instantly covered it with a reassuring smile. I couldn't help the pang in my heart seeing her disappointed.

"It's okay. I understand," she reassured.

"I'm sorry, love," I consoled. "I'll bring you out right early in the morning. We'll go anywhere you want or maybe at the park."

Her eyes lit up and she squealed, "Really!"

I nodded and whispered in her ear, "I'm all yours tomorrow...You could even do anything you want to do with my body."

She gasped and hit me on my shoulder. "Ewwww!"

I laughed hard and she gave me a playful look of disgust.

"Thank you," she whispered.

If not for my heightened hearing sense, I wouldn't be able to hear it. "What for, love?" I asked as I drive back home.

"I, uh, nothing, nothing."

I chuckled and continue to drive.

"Wait for me in the room," I whispered as I help her out of the car. "I'll be there in a minute. I'll just need to talk to my men."

She jerked her head and hugged me by the waist. "Thank you, Mr. Alpha," she whispered.

My ears perked hearing that. I looked down at her with wide eyes. She just called me by the name she used to call me. Did she finally accept that I am Richard? Yet, I fear the day she finds out the entire truth. But, right now I am happy as long as she is safe with me. I will be her protector for as long as I am breathing.

"I love you, Amari," I whispered. "I love you...I love you...I really do!"

She detached from me and says, "I'll go in now?"

I pulled her back and kissed her forehead. I love her so much. I couldn't contain my happiness right now so I leaned down to kiss her cheek when she jerked her head causing our lips to touch.

She jumped in surprise and covered her mouth. "I'm so-sorry," she squeaked.

That reminds me of...

I raised an eyebrow at the girl in front of me. "Let me see it," I persisted.

She hides it behind her back, embarrassed. She is drawing a figure and it happened to be the two of us holding hands. I accidentally peeked at her drawing. I only chuckled.

"It's nothing," she denied. "I was just writing something."

An idea popped in my head but before I could even make a move she ran and jumped on the bed. Was she able to run away? No, I caught her on the bed.

"Gotcha!"

She squealed and stretched her hand above her head away from me. I was able to catch her hand in time and I got the paper. She closed her eyes all of a sudden. Only then did I realize our position.

Our noses almost touching and I am on top of her on the bed. Isn't it suggestive? I backed away immediately in fear I might do something I won't regret.

I helped her sit up and I sat next to her. "Thank you for this," I thanked her. "It looked beautiful just like you."

"Thank you, Mr. Alpha," she said without looking at me.

I leaned down to kiss her cheek but she unintentionally jerked her head to face me and I was able to kiss her mouth fully. To my disappointment, she immediately backs away and covers her mouth in surprise. Her eyes were wide like a saucer. I wish she didn't pull away immediately.

That was her first kiss and I will only be the one to kiss her. It made me howl inwardly in delight. I will never allow anyone to touch her lips.

"Can we run to the woods, Mr. Alpha?" she asked shying away. Is it because I accidentally kissed her? I wish it wasn't by accident. I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Of course, Love."

I carried her outside ignoring the usual suspicious stares my pack members are giving us. Once we reached the woods, I transformed into my big black wolf and my eyes turned fully red.

I let her hop on my back and we took off.

"Mr. Alpha!"

"-pha Andres! Alpha And-"

"Yes?" I jerked my head down to see her looking worried.

"Are you okay? You were lost in thought." Hearing her like this swells my heart. I wish this would last.

"Nothing, My love. It was nothing," I reassured. "Let's head in."

She nodded and she let me hold her hand and we enter the mansion. (A/N:Didn't I say it's a mansion?)

If you are wondering why Alpha Andres was able to transform and sense his mate's scent as a teenager, there will be an explanation. He's not an ordinary alpha. There will be flashbacks to give you ideas of their pasts. I hope you're not confused when the chapter turns to flashback. Give me feedback if the transition is clear.
