Returning to the Clan Part 2 Clan Test

Shouts went out all over. The young clan members were beyond excitied about their own growth still. The last few months had been kind to those who worked from his camp. Teaching them hands-on the inner working of the Dragon Martial Arts from Star Martial God Technique this morning further boosted their confidence.

A small test against teh Red Wolves had the Monster Beasts pushing themselves to understand human tactics quicker.

The reward he prepared for them was the Nine Transformation Draconic Flames Manual. Even telling them of the great cultivator Li Xingyun of the Ashen Flames Family that showed him the secrets within.

It was best to throw other Cultivators into the mix. In case people asked a lot of questions, whether here and now or years down the road.

Xiao Mei and the others restricted themselves to the 9th Stage of Dou Disciple. Before placing their hands on the monument to display the achievements, each turned to Xiao Yan paying respects. It was not lost on the elders and the Mitre Family the level of care they gave him.

"My people should have this level of power, of course." Xiao Yan was a little smug. But he gave proper due. "They worked so hard the last few months, it shows. I will have to make sure to reward them carefully the next time."

"Thank you, young master!" Xiao Mei gave him a warm fist salute coming back. She was even more, excited about what they would get later. She moved over and started conversing with the others. "I wonder what he has in mind?"

The elders took notice that he was treated as their teacher more than anything. The Red wolves that lazed about also protected them a good deal. Keeping the suck-ups away that tried to gain favor.

A little older teen walked over towards Xiao Yan and Xu Er. Long brown ponytail and a somewhat fierce set of red eyes belonged to none other than Xiao Yu. Her blue-white uniform/clothing was that of Jia Nan Academy, consisting of a blue heavy white accent coat and matching blouse skirt set.

As usual, Xiao Yan greeted them first before they could comment. Best to control the conversation himself, of course.

"The one who went to Jia Nan Academy as a student, Xiao Yu, welcome back." His smile disarming along with his immediate follow up. "Your teacher Ruo Ling is just a Grandmaster, hopefully, she didn't let you out to go and play around like this instead of training diligently?"

"Humph!" Xiao Yu was off guard for a few seconds before bouncing back. " The Coming of Age Ceremony is such a big event, naturally I came back for it. As well as to see the progress of my brother Xiao Ning!"

With the changes done by this Xiao Yan, the usually arrogant Xiao Yu was smart enough not to cause trouble after what she heard and specifically after what she saw a few minutes ago. His look towards her was enough to show superiority without even trying.

"What's with that look?" Feeling his eyes rake over her legs and then arms with a frown, was enough to unnerve anyone. 'Not only does he know about my teacher, but father also said he brought the Mitre Family to conduct some business. I need to be careful.'

"Just disappointment. You are training the whip... arts. Only a fool would do so. It is not a weapon for war or really practical in a fight. Why are you wasting your time with it? Is it to prepare your body for a better fighting style?"

"What do you know about the whip?"

"What I just said about it and the fact it will just get you killed at any rate." Xiao Yan shook his head in dismay. "You have to understand a large of other weapons to make good use of it. As well as having a good field of vision coupled with fast reaction times to control the field."

"I am sure my teacher has a plan for my development." Seeing him unmoved, she took a small dig at him. "A small pervert like you has no idea how smart she is."

"Hehe, ok." Xiao Yan shook his head laughing. He stood up to proceed on with the stupid test once again. Stopping to whisper in her ear only. "Are you that stupid to bring up something that was an accident while you were bathing? It only lets others know you were seen by a male. Doesn't hurt my image in any way. Idiot."

Thinking of the time he saw her bathing, the white rabbit in his hand was proof during that time he didn't know she was there bathing. But emotions always got in the way of reason.

*Whirl!* She went to pull her whip out to strike him in anger.

"You dare try to take advantage of me!" Xiao Yu was not faster than him. She was grabbed by the throat and held up in the air. Dropping the whip immediately as she was at his mercy so easily. "..guh!"

"Attacking the young master of the Xiao clan.." A barely controlled sinister growl came out. The Blizzard Demon Ape grabbed her legs with its bottom arms and picked up the whip with the free one. "..is a stupid move, little girl."

The Mitre Family members completely suppressed the Xiao Clan members who thought to act in response. It would be dumb to make a move over a younger generation causing trouble foolishly, they would argue if need be. Even Xiao Yu's family members knew better.

"If she tries something so stupid again, just rip her in half." Xiao Yan moved up to the monument to take the test again. Just to shut the clansmen up that still barked it was a fluke last time. "Hurry up Xu Er, you are holding us all up playing around like this."

The Monster Beast dropped the gasping girl who scurried off not caring about how it looked. Her brother and father, an elder were upset of course. Yet they said nothing of course.

"Hehe, ok." She touched the monument looking back at him. Aware she needed to speed up her cultivation after the talk they had before. "Don't be to suprised at my growth!" She was met with a smile only in response.

*Shuuaaa!* With a touch, a radiance lit up, showing her cultivation and revealing that of a 3-star Dou Practitioner. Most clansmen were cheering with the elders; some just looked on shocked.

"Who would have known she would have advanced so fast!" Xiao Zhan was happy for his adoptive daughter. 'That clan of hers has such astonishing members. Defintely a record in the Empire.'

"She could be counted amongst the young talents in the Xiao Family." Ya Fei gave an appraising look at her. But a whisper from Xiao Yan with the use of Astral Sense and she knew that the girl had her bloodline and family to thank for that growth of hers. 'Rich bloodline from one of the Ancient Families, but temperament is more important for a cultivator in the beginning!'

With it being one of the Ancient Families, it would be best to not pry into it. Lest she herself end up dead somewhere.

"Brother Xiao Yan," her words contained a little more affection than usual. Closer to that of one seeking approval from an older sibling. "how was I?"

"You did good. You can only go up if you push on in the future." He rubbed her head, passing by and stopping as he felt his ability of a Champion creating a Connection between the two.

Restoring a very large portion in his Internal Space in the process. So large his qi shot up for a split second with the space to move. "Oops."

Only a few noticed, thankfully. But Xu Er defintely did. As well as Ya Fei and "his" Xiao Clan members.

"The last examinee! Xiao Yan, please.. at your leisure." A nearby elder said with respect. Having felt it first hand he knew the young master was hiding himself for any number of reasons. "The clan looks forward to your growth once more."

A few whispers were heard right before he touched the monument thanks to the use of his Astral Sense. Praise but also fear of reprisal for those who understood and saw everything that took place closely.

"It's finally the climax! Right clan leader.." The 1st elder was wanting to do a little digging into the man still.

"I will make sure to arrange a decent career for Xiao Yan in case his cultivation has dropped again." 2nd elder chirped in. "Bringing the Mitre family is a good help, should help him gain a decent spot in the merchant part of the family business."

There words contain just a little to much bite. They overstepped, and it was going to be rectified quickly.

"Before I do this, what will it take for you bottom feeders in the clan to finally stop being pieces of shit?" Xiao Yan's eyes glowed with a devious light.

*Fwish!* Blue and white embers leaking out of his eyes as the Heart Method (Maxium) grew stronger. Suppressing so many at once boosted his cultivation further.

It was best to weed out more of the disloyal in the clan to help determine those needed. "It is no secret so many little dissenters are in the clan. So many greedy little shits were biting at the bits!"

"We would like to know this as well." Ya Fei voiced a little smugly. "No reason to partner up with people who will abandon one another in the rough times like we have heard in whispers."

Elder Gu Ni gave a nod that this was defintely something they agreed on.

"Business is business, this should wait until after the Coming of Age Ceremony." 2nd elder tried to change the direction things were going.

"Little Yan, just finish the test." Xiao Zhan spoke on behalf of the clan. This was not the right call to make. "Private affairs are not meant to be done in the open."

"I disagree. Everyone present are members of the Xiao family in a way. Even the members of the Mitre Family count. They have allied with me after all, so no reason to think of them as outsiders." Xiao Yan's voice was firm as he spoke out. His patience was running really thin. "Then a change in the deal is needed."

Ya Fei nodded in agreement. This meant they would go from favorable terms with the Xiao clan to just ok terms with them. Those with Xiao Yan directly would receive the most benefit from this.

*Shhuuaa!* A touch to the monument revealed him to be at the 1-star Dou Master. Enough to shut everyone up in the crowd and make his supporters really happy. The elders jaws dropped in astonishment.

"He has recovered even more, as to be expected of my Teacher." Ya Fei beamed with pride for being his student. She knew he was stronger thna what was displayed but felt his emission of Dou-Qi as purer than before. "If the Xiao Clan was lead by such a strong successor, the future would be only limitless for you all."

"Haha, miss Ya Fei flatters to much." Xiao Zhan was reeling over the fact his son was so strong but he didn't miss what she said. 'Xiao Yan is her teacher?' Thinking of Xiao Mei and the others, pride was only drowned out by the cheers of the crowd.

"He had to have used all the medicine to boost himself quickly!" Xiao Ning raged in jealousy. A few were thinking the same thing but were smart enough not to voice it. His sister said nothing of course, to dissuade him. "If I was given everything he had, I would be ever higher in strength!"

"Pfft!" Xiao Mei scoffed. "If you took the medicine you would have died, you idiot! You need a strong willpower to go through that pain! You are to simple-minded to even survive the first layer of training."

"Do not give in to her baiting." Xiao Yu stopped her brother, who was about to do just that. "Not everyone can handle volatile medicine. Xiao Yan defintely went through some means to get a body like that. If he didn't explode."

Another reason she was here was to find a few people to join Jia Nan Academy.
