Condemned Hymn: Avatar of Sin

In the small city of Haverfall, lived Caspian, a renowned detective. He was just an ordinary person until one day, a mysterious incident happened. "Can you please move out of the way?" said Caspian as the crowd moved to let him pass through. He parked his car and entered the house of the incident. As he entered the room of the crime scene, he could only gasp at the sight, "What the f—" It was a bloody mess. Guts were all over the place, even the ceiling. As he looked at the body, he saw that the torso of the victim was utterly obliterated. There were no clues... not a single one. But Caspian is a stubborn man, so he tries to find everything and comes across a mysterious group. He warned them not to move, or he'll shoot, but without a care, they didn't listen. Caspian shot, but to his surprise, one of them even laughed. He didn't know what had happened, but he was knocked out. Just after that day, his mother, an agent from an unknown organization, told him to stop investigating and that they'll handle it. He was angry, but he knew he couldn't do anything about it, but he planned on investigating regardless of the consequences. A few more murders happened, and Caspian eventually got caught investigating something without proper permission and was suspended. That's where it all happened, an encounter with the unknown, something that didn't die no matter how much he tried to kill it—the encounter with the supernatural. Mysteries begin to unsolve as the dark secrets of the world hold true. The fate of the world bides within him... the oath sworn by the apocalypse. This is the path of the Condemned. (It's pretty light-hearted, so you don't have to worry. No NTR, No cuckoldry, No UB, No bad tags. Just good old harem with a plot instead of pure harem. Small warning though, the MC won't be immediately strong since that would make no sense storywise. He will still need to train to be able to reach the strength everyone else has. [I could just make him gain a power-up but that would be too easy, LMAO]. Also, English is my third language, so I'm sorry if I have a lot of typos/grammatical errors.) Chapter 31: Central District

Back at Grace's office at the bureau, Naida, Natalia, Lucia, and Irene sat on the sofa as they showed Grace the blood that Abby and Caspian had collected and deemed as the liquid that enhanced a Lesser Vampire to a True Vampire temporarily.

"Captain, this is the liquid that Abby said can temporarily boost a vampire's strength," Natalie said as she handed the plastic container to Grace.

Grace nodded as her expression turned solemn. She then opened the container and grabbed the vial. As Grace gazed at the liquid contained in it, she frowned as she said, "This liquid… it's blood, I assume?"

Natalie nodded solemnly. Grace frowned further as she opened the lid; a strong stench of blood wafted to her nose. As Grace smelt this, her eyes immediately turned bright red. She gritted her teeth as she forcefully expelled the temptation from her mind.

"What is this blood? It's incredibly potent. I bet even other supernatural races aside from vampires will be enticed by this smell," As she said that, she gazed at her subordinates and noticed Natalie and Irene were panting somewhat as they swallowed the calming pills while Naida and Lucia simply sat uncomfortably.

"Where did Abby and Caspian find this?" She said as she closed the lid of the vial.

"It's the blood from another victim of our target, but it's mixed with the blood of another victim. I assume it became like this due to the mixing of multiple types of supernatural blood since the victims are half-bloods. But I sense more than two types of supernatural blood in it."

"But the victim I mentioned before, she was being turned into a vampire," Natalie said.

Grace nodded as she replied, "That means that to create this, they need a half-blood, and they need to turn them somewhat into a vampire and inject it with another type of supernatural blood."

As they further conversed about the blood, Grace then grabbed one of the vials while handing one over to her subordinates. "I'll keep one and bring it to the director. Bring this one to the research team. Tell them to study the effects and test it on other supernaturals besides vampires and see if they can manufacture this using the extra blood there."

"Also, if it's possible, request the captain of Caspian's department to give the corpse to us for further investigation."

Naida and the others nodded as they stood and grabbed the vial. They then headed out while Grace glanced at the vial she was holding once more. She stood up with a tired sigh and whispered, "This is getting really bothersome."

She then headed toward the saintess's room and knocked on the door. "You may enter, Captain Grace."

Grace then opened the door and sat down while the saintess was floating in the air, a golden mist surrounding her. She looked as if she was in a meditative state. Grace then said, "Transfer me to the Haven."

The saintess opened her eyes as she gazed at Grace, her ruby-red eyes glowing lightly. Her eyes seemed to have the power to read through anything, and Grace felt bare. After a while, the saintess closed her eyes as she said, as if knowing the matters, "I see… Fallen's targets are a means to strengthen their armies…. I shall send you directly to the director."

Grace nodded gratefully as the saintess chanted something obscure. The golden mist covered the entire room with a bright light as it glowed; a suppressing feeling emerged as the mist encompassed Grace.

As the mist subsided, Grace was nowhere to be found.

Caspian and Abby then headed out with their arms locked. The landlord, who was sweeping his porch, couldn't help but smile, seeing the young couple. "Ah, reminds me of the old days."

Without wasting any further time, they entered the car with Caspian driving and immediately headed out to find a nice place to relax and enjoy their time together.

Since they didn't know where to go, they decided to go to the theater. As they walked around, a couple of people gazed at them, and due to their enhanced senses, they immediately noticed them. Of course, they naturally paid no heed to it.

They then got tickets to a movie and headed to the movie theater after grabbing a couple of snacks with them. They then sat and watched the movie in peace.

As the movie finished, Caspian and Abby happily left the theater as they headed elsewhere. Since it was lunch, they headed toward the restaurant they had previously visited and ordered some food.

While eating, they conversed, and soon they finished and left. Abby then said while glancing at Caspian, "Shall we go home?"

Caspian nodded with a smile. They then headed home quickly and entered Caspian's apartment. Although the date was short, they enjoyed it immensely, but they felt tired and just wanted to head home.

But that wasn't the actual case as they just felt tired of the view outside since they rather just be at home and explore each other. They then kissed each other passionately as they pushed each other toward the bedroom. Of course, you all know what happened later.

The day soon passed, and Caspian and Abby woke up early as they were used to. They then hurriedly went to shower because they were sweaty, got dressed, and headed straight to their car.

Caspian's phone rang as they entered, so he grabbed it and answered it, saying, "Hello, Scarlet? Any news?"

[Yeah, the hospital contacted us and said that all the information we wanted had been gathered at Haverfall Central Hospital, you just have to head there and pick it up.]

"Isn't that somewhat far…?" Caspian smiled bitterly as he replied, causing Abby to glance at him. As a supernatural being, she naturally heard everything that was on the phone and knew Caspian had to go to the Central District.

"I see; we'll be there shortly," Caspian said as the call ended. They then headed immediately toward their station.

As they arrived, Abby, unfortunately, had to go patrolling and managing the others, so she headed out after calling Naida and the others.

"Hey, we need you here and discuss how we proceed with the investigation. I have a patrol today, so I can't come with Caspian to the hospital to grab the information about the blood types."

[Affirmative, we'll be there soon.]

Caspian then entered his office and arranged some of the paperwork at his table while waiting for Naida and the others to arrive. Not long after, a knock was heard at the door. Caspian, who was currently writing something, said, "Come in!"

The door opened, and Naida and the others entered and sat down. Caspian placed his pen down as he looked at the four and said, "So, how do we proceed with the investigation?"

Nadia then gave it a thought, and after a while, she said, "I would suggest Natalie go with you to the hospital while we talk to the department's captain about giving the body to the bureau as per the captain's orders."

As Caspian heard that, he lightly pinched his chin as he couldn't help but ask, "Mom requested the body to be handed over?"

'Is it due to that blood that can enhance a vampire's power?' As Caspian gave it a thought, Naida nodded. Caspian then sat properly as he said, "Alright, our pathologist already completed the autopsy and is probably about to send it to a research facility. I suggest you convince the captain as soon as possible."

Naida nodded as she said, "I agree."

Natalie then stood up as she said, "Well then, detective, shall we head our own way?"

"Ah, before that, I forgot to ask you if you looked into the criminal organization that had information about the various victims."

After hearing that, Naida nodded as she replied, "We're looking into it. Not much had been discovered, but we're certain that they're connected to a politician and that said politician probably has involvement with Fallen."

"I see; thank you." Caspian nodded at the information. Naida simply nodded her head as she said, "Alright, let's head our separate ways."

After saying that, Caspian nodded as Naida, Lucia, and Irene left the room. Caspian then stood up and properly holstered his Glock 22 within his coat. "Let's go."

Both Caspian and Natalie then walked out of the room and headed to the parking area, where Caspian unlocked his car and entered along with Natalie.

The location was somewhat far as the Wakefield district was near the city's outskirts. After all, they had to go to the Central district, which would take roughly two and a half hours to drive if you drove at sixty kilometers per hour.

Caspian couldn't help but exasperatedly sigh as he stomped on the gas pedal. He then lightly glanced at Natalie as he realized he hadn't actually observed her that much. Natalie noticed his gaze, so she returned the gaze with a smile. After that, they just continued to ride quietly.

Noticing that the ride was too quiet, Caspian took the initiative to speak first, "So, I haven't actually talked to you guys that much despite me staying at the bureau for a month and a half."

Natalie giggled as she said, "It's fine! We're rarely there, after all."

"It makes me feel ingenuine, haha," Caspian laughed lightly.

"Ah, don't be," Natalie laughed as she continued, "In fact, my team and I should be the ones apologizing, especially because Lucia has been quite rude to you."

"Ah, it's no problem, she's just quite rough sometimes, but all in all, she's a nice person," Caspian said with a smile.

"So I just have to ask; I'm new to this supernatural thing, and I just wanted to know how it felt to grow up as a supernatural," Caspian said genuinely.

Natalie smiled as she said, "It's not that different from being a human, aside from the fact that we have superpowers, if you may call it, and having to hide our identities. But in any case, we're no different."

"I see, so I guess I never missed anything then," Caspian chuckled while Natalie giggled.

The conversation continued as they finally reached the Central district after two and a half hours. Caspian then immediately headed toward the hospital and entered it.

Caspian and Natalie then headed to the receptionist, and he said, "Excuse me, ma'am. I'm Detective Caspian from the Wakefield district, and we're here to collect the requested files."

"Ah, I see. Please wait just a moment," The receptionist said as she scanned her files. After scanning, she picked up the telephone and contacted someone. After a while, she said,. "Please head right to Dr. Gabriel Morgan's office. He's our hematologist here, and you can locate his office on the third floor. Ah, but he only accepts one person because of an accident in his office."

The receptionist then turned her head toward Natalie as she said with a slight bow, "Officer, I request you to please stay. I hope you understand."

Natalie was somewhat worried as Caspian thanked the receptionist. He then glanced lightly at Natalie, telling her he would be fine.

He then headed to the third floor by using the elevator and tried to find the office. After a while, he finally found it and knocked on the door. A stern voice then called, "Is that you, Detective? Come in!"
