Part 10

Jay's POV

It took Kayden about fifteen minutes before he finally stopped crying. My heart burned at the thought of the incident in the market just now.

But to be honest, Kayden's scent was so alluring just like Taylor said. Even I had a hard time controlling myself.

I wonder how strong it would get when he was finally in his heat.

"Do you still want to shop?" I looked down to Kayden, while passing the tissue for him to wipe the remaining tears and he nodded.

He was still sitting on my lap and I didn't have the heart to remove him to the seat besides me in his current state. I knew he was weak considering he was an omega, but I never saw him being this weak.

"Give me the list. I'll do it for you," I offered but he profusely shook his head to disagree.

He must have thought that he was going to trouble me. There was no way I could let Kayden go back into that market full of those horny predators.

That beta just now was lucky I didn't decide to rip his head off his body for what he did to Kayden. If the same thing happened again today, I can't promise the same.

"Kayden, you are not troubling me so –"

"I don't want to be left alone, please," he whispered, cutting of my sentences before I could even complete it while looking straight at me with those watery eyes and red plump lips.

I swore my heart just skipped a beat.

His sweet scent suddenly got stronger and hit my nose, making me gulped nervously. I slowly removed him from my lap before anything happened.

"I want to be with you," Kayden pleaded again while holding the sleeves of my coat with his small hands.

My eyes unintentionally wandered to his exposed legs and the outfit he was wearing was definitely making it riskier.

It didn't help with the fact that this small compound of a car was already filled with his scent.

'Oh my gosh don't lose control now, Jay'

I cleared my throat and quickly moved out from the car before I got too excited. I breathed in the fresh air, my back facing the car.

"Jay?" I turned around only to be faced by the peeking of Kayden's eyes through the window opening, waiting for my permission.

He wiped the tears remaining in his eyes with his paw sleeve, and I gulped my saliva for the tenths times today.

'What is he being so cute for?'

I took a deep breath before I gave my answer.

"You can come, but you have to wear my jacket," I gave in.

His eyes immediately lit up, making my heart thumped harder for the nth time today.

After he walked out from the car, I immediately wrapped his body with my jacket, afraid that his scent would spread throughout the parking lot and attracted the attentions of others.

Kayden's POV

Jay agreed to let me shop with the condition that I was wrapped in his long jacket. He said that it was so that my scent would be covered by his, as well as to cover my exposed legs from being stared by anyone else.

He also kept me close to him by placing me between the trolley and his body while he pushed the trolley from behind. He assisted me in finding all the items from the shopping list, not forgetting the ice cream.

"That would be $89.30," I took my wallet out but Jay had offered his card to the cashier first.

"Jay you don't have too,"

"It's okay, it's a small amount. Besides, I think you should buy more. Didn't you say that this is your one-month supply? He asked, pointing towards the groceries in the trolley while we were walking back to the car.

"Well, I live alone. And after all I don't really eat after I get back home. I usually just take a bath and went straight to bed. I seldom cook unless it was weekend, and maybe when Tay comes over,"

I felt him tensed up behind me, so I quickly explained to avoid any misunderstanding.

"Oh, Taylor is just a close friend. We have known since high school because we were in a club together. He is my best friend like a brother that I always wished to have,"

I smiled remembering Taehyung's boxy smile that he never failed to plaster on his face every time we met up.

"You should smile more, Kayden. You look beautiful," I was taken aback by the sudden compliment, and blushed again.

I didn't think he would saw me smiling since I was walking in front of him. I cupped my face hiding my blushed cheeks and got into the car while Jay unload the plastic bags into the trunk and returned the trolley to the mall.

When we reached home, it was already near dinner time and Jay decided to stay and helped me prepare dinner.

"This is good. I haven't eaten homemade food since forever," he commented while digging in, and I was dumbfounded for a second.

"No way, your cooking is way better than mine on so many levels"

"Is it? I rarely cook at home and yesterday's the first time someone else tasted my cooking," he answered nonchalantly, but I was ecstatic inside.

Did that mean I was the first one he ever cooked for?

Quietly finishing our dinner after that, with only small talks related to the ongoing project that he was working on, it didn't take long for us to finish all the food we've prepared.

"Just leave your plates in the sink, Jay. I'll wash the dishes after this. It's getting late, you'd probably need to head home soon, don't you?"

"I'm planning to stay the night," he casually replied, causing me to widen my eyes in disbelief.

"W-what?" I stuttered, totally not expecting that answer from him.

"I took the rest of the week off if you'd worry about me going to work,"

"But the guest room is not prepared,"

"It looks fine to me,"

"But you didn't have any spare clothes. I, my shirts were a bit too small for you since you're so muscular..." getting embarrassed after realizing that I was indirectly saying that he got a hot body out loud, I looked down to my intertwined fingers.

That's not important right now, Kayden.

Is he serious?

I wouldn't be able to hide my heat from him if it comes tomorrow.

"You may be unaware of the fact that I had brought my clothes when I first walked into your house," he said while pointing to the bag near the front door that I haven't realized had been left there for quite a long time.

Oh my.

He was serious.

What do I do?

Come on, come on.

Come out with a reason, you stupid brain.

"But my bathroom probably didn't have a big bathtub like yours!" I finally blurted out.

Really Kayden, that's the only reason you can come out with?

You haven't even been to his house yet to know the size of his bathtub.

I mentally rolled my eyes at the things that just came out from my mouth.

Jay just laughed quietly hearing my ridiculous excuse of not wanting him to sleep here tonight, and I felt my cheeks burning again in embarrassment.

What is this guy up to?

"No, Kayden. You can't kick me out. I had a few drinks after our dinner just now. You wouldn't want me to get into accident, right?"

Damn, he's right. Why did I offer him some beer just now?

I blame it to my unconditional love for alcohols.

"I didn't mean it that way, Jay. I just felt guilty that you had to sleep in such small room compared to your probably way more comfortable bed at your home,"

"It's okay, I wouldn't even pack my clothes if I didn't even plan to sleep here. Now, can I borrow your shower?"

"Uh- but -"

"Go to rest, I'll finish up cleaning the kitchen and made myself comfortable," he pushed me out of my own kitchen and made me go to my bedroom, before swiftly closing the door behind me, leaving me still processing on what's happening as of now.
