Chapter Twenty-One: Back on Creek.

It had been one solid week of silence and solitude, even hell would have felt like paradise. She was back on Creek, against her better judgement. He was making her feel rejected and, above all, worthless. She had cried rivers but now had to get up, gather and recollect. But there was only emptiness. Who needs a heart when it can hurt this much? 

Jade walked towards her from the other direction. She could sense as well as see that her best friend was going through so much, yet she insisted on being strong. Now here she was, a home that now felt like foreign land. She felt like a foreigner in her own body. Cindy wanted to get away for a bit, but her almost meal ticket was shutting her out. Jade came up to her and magnetically seemed to draw the tears from her friend's eyes. Strength had other places to be. 

Cindy dissolved in Jade's arms. 

"You know I got you, now and forever," Jade guaranteed her friend. "You don't have to be here," Jade suggested.
