Chapter 4

As that thought crossed his mind their dinner arrived. Cassidy took notice on how max listened to her go on about her mother without saying anything or interrupting her which is something she wasn't used to. The guys she dated in the past never wanted to listen to her. They only wanted to talk about themselves. Cassidy soon realized they were only interested in her because of who her father was. As they were eating she noticed max was barely touching his dinner. You're not eating what's wrong? Nothing i'm just not that hungry. Then why did you ask me out to dinner?

Cassidy felt like this was a set up and that thought made her mad and as she was getting ready to tell him those exact words max spoke up and said that he was just enjoying her company and the thought of how her mother had treated her was wrong and it tampered down his appetite. After hearing that explanation Cassidy went back to eating her dinner. After they were done Max left the waitress a tip and paid the bill.

On the way back to Cassidy's house his cell phone rang. He was going to ignore it but Cassidy told him to take it because it might be important. Max answered his phone only to hear simone on the other end of the phone using her sexy voice on him. I'm sorry love i didn't mean to sound so demanding i know the little witch has convinced you to stay. At that point cassidy turned her head to look out the window and Max knew that she had heard what was said and it made him mad.

Simone let's get one thing straight. I do not like the tone of your voice and what you said about Cassidy . She had nothing to do with me staying longer but since you want to act like a spoiled brat you can get your stuff and get out of my house tomorrow. Don't worry about giving Allison the keys because after she stops by tomorrow to get the ring she will wait until you get your things out then the locksmith will be by to change the locks. Anything you leave behind will be mailed to you. With that Max hung up his phone and turned it off. Cassidy looked at me, Simone had no right to say what she did and I'm sorry you had to hear that. That's ok Max i can understand where she is coming from but that doesn't make her words hurt any less.

As they pulled into the driveway Max couldn't help himself any longer. He leaned over to Cassidy and captured her lips. God how he missed this and her. Cassidy was caught off guard but she kissed him back. Before things got out of hand cassidy pulled away and scrambled out of the car and ran into the house leaving max sitting in the car dumbfounded. By the time max realized what had happened cassidy was already in the house. Inside the house cassidy was going over the events in her head and begrudging herself for kissing max back. She heard the door open and knew it was max coming in the house.
