Chapter 8

*Kira felt bad, but there is nothing she can do about it. The following day she packed her bags, about to leave Victor's house. She wanted to leave without informing him but she thinks that will make matter worse, so she decided to tell him. She hasn't seen him since their last discussion, she knock on his room door and Victor asked her to come in

Kira: how are you?

Victor: I'm okay.

Kira: I'm sorry for what happened yesterday.

Victor: you don't have to be sorry. It's fine, I believe you know what you're doing

Kira: yeah, thanks. I'm here to bid you goodbye. I'm leaving your house

*Victor stood up immediately*

Victor: Kira, what is wrong with you? Do you have to do this? Where do you want to go? You said you don't want this relationship again, I accepted, now you're moving out of my house. Or is Kelvin here in the U.S?

Kira: no, I think it's the best thing to do since we ended our relationship

Victor: point of correction, since you end the relationship. I did not. The fact that we are no more in a relationship does not mean I will throw you out. You can stay.

Kira: are you sure about this?

Victor: yes I'm sure

Kira: thank you Victor. You're such a nice man.

*She returned her bags to her room. She called Kelvin to give him the gist.

Kelvin: babe, I am not comfortable with you living with a man.

Kira: are you jealous? Victor is a nice guy. Besides it's my parents decision, so there is nothing I can do about it. It's a matter of time, I will soon leave here.

Kelvin: okay babe. Just becareful.

Kira: okay darling. I need to go now. Talk to you later. Bye

*Kira continue staying at Victor's house. They both lived like flat mates, Victor spent more time at work. He over worked because he did not want to think about Kira. Kira was enjoying her distant relationship with Kelvin. Everyone was living fine except Victor who was heartbroken and believed Kira will come back to her.

*Kelvin graduated from the university and started looking for job. He asked Kira to help him talk to her parents.

Kira: have you forgotten? They will not listen to me. I don't know how I will convince them to allow us get married.

Kelvin: please, find a way to convince them.

Kira: I will try my best. Babe, instead of searching for job, why don't you apply for your masters

Kelvin: I wish to but don't forget my BSc was sponsored by my uncle, he has retired from work now. No one to sponsor my masters degree. I need to work to sponsor myself.

Kira: I understand. There are some university here that offer scholarship program. I will be sending you some links, try and apply to them all, I believe one of them will give you admission

Kelvin: thank you baby

*Kira started send scholarship links to Kelvin and he kept applying to them. One day, two of the universities gave him fully funded scholarship. It was like a dream. He called Kira immediately

Kira: congratulations baby

Kelvin: thank you baby. I don't know which one to choose.

Kira: the one in my state of course.

Kelvin: I know, just pulling your legs. Babe, there is another problem

Kira: what is it dear?

Kelvin: flight ticket. I don't have that huge amount of money

Kira: babe, I will take care of that

*Kira booked his flight, arrange everything he might need. He went for his Visa and was approved. Few days later got to USA.

*Kira was so happy to see the love of her life. Kelvin started class, they spent more time together, sometime Kira will go back home late, sometime she won't sleep at home. One day, Victor challenged her.

Victor: Kira, I noticed you've not been coming home or you come back late. What happened?

Kira: Victor I am not a baby, I can take care of myself.

Victor: I know but your parents knows we stay together, they might question me if anything happens to you

Kira: nothing will happen to me, stop been negative. Anyway, Kelvin is around, he's doing his maters here. So we're always together

Victor: Kelvin? Wow, now I understand. Instead of staying out late, you can bring him home

Kira: no thanks. He will not comply and I won't support it either.

Victor: okay. Just be careful. I just want you to be fine

Kira: thank you.

*Victor was more heartbroken than before. He silently wept inside his room.

Victor: now it's over. I can't have her again. Kelvin is here, there is nothing I can do about it, but I can feel something is not right about this guy. I just hope Kira is not hurt at the end.

*Things were moving on fine. One day, after class Kira decided to give Kelvin a surprise visit. When she got to the cafeteria they always meet. She saw Kelvin with a lady named Kimberly, she thought within herself that she was his course mate. She moved close to them.

Kira: hey baby

*Kimberly was shocked

Kimberly: hello, excuse me, who is your baby?

*Kelvin did not say anything, just watching both of them

Kira: Kelvin, what's going on here?

Kelvin: Kira, you didn't tell me you're coming

Kira: does that matter now? Answer my question

*Kimberly got angry, stood up and left in annoyance, Kelvin told Kira that he would call her and he followed Kimberly.
