Preparation

The meeting in the oil and gas company commenced and everyone was already seated. After a few minutes, Williams' name called to come outside.

" What!" Williams exclaimed.

"What is going on? Who is this new person? Have I done anything wrong? " Williams said as if walked out.

His colleagues were looking. Confusion was written all over their faces.

The managing director arrived and Williams was a bit relieved.

The managing director spoke a one-one talk with the new man and Williams was asked to go and sit down.

Loveth asked her dad how he got to know Mr. Raymond.

Mr. Henry smiled and didn't say anything. Loveth persuaded her to talk but he didn't. He just started another conversation to cover up.

Loveth knew that her dad didn't want to answer her so she forgot about it.

Not long after Mrs. Henry came, she hugged Loveth and congratulated her on her birthday that is coming in a few days.

"Mum! Thank you. I did not even prepare for my birthday. We will just do it in a small way" Loveth said as she sat beside her mother.

"Won't you invite your lover?" Mrs. Henry said jokingly.

"Mum! He is still my friend" Loveth said shyly.

"It starts from friendship. Won't you invite your friend then?" Mrs. Henry said jokingly and everyone began to laugh.

"I've not told him yet mum. Because I've not played anything serious for my birthday" Loveth said.

"Do you mean that he didn't know your birthday now?" Mr. Henry asked.

"He should not. Because he told me he and I told him mine" Loveth said in confusion.

"He would remember, but you can invite him. Or won't you do a birthday for us?" Mrs. Henry said.

"Hmmm! I'm not planning anything yet" Loveth said.

"Alright. How was your day at work?" Mrs. Henry said to change their conversation

"Fine mum" Loveth said.

Loveth thought of what her mother said and placed a call to Williams. The phone had already been ringing before she discovered that time has gone.

"What!" She exclaimed and dropped the call.

Williams called back almost immediately.

"Hello! Pretty, how are you? Sorry that I've not called you. I was very busy at work today" Williams apologized.

"It's alright, I've already dialed your number before I realized that the time has gone, that was why I cut the call" Loveth replied.

"That is not a problem. You can call me anytime" Williams said with a smile.

"It's alright then. What happened? Why are you very busy at work?" Loveth asked curiously

"Something like that, I will explain to you better when we meet," Williams said.

"It's alright. I called you to tell you that my birthday is in 5days" Loveth said.

"Wow! I thought you won't remind me. Though I didn't forget it" Williams said.

"How are we doing it? It's going to be great" Williams said.

"I haven't made any preparations for it. But I can just do a mini party in the house. You are invited" Loveth said.

"Are we not doing it together? But let's meet tomorrow" Williams said.

"Alright, After work, we will meet," Loveth said.

Mrs. Henry told her husband all that she had bought. She told her the list of other items that she wrote.

Mr. Henry told her to calculate the amount.

He explained further that he didn't want Loveth to be aware of all the plans. He wanted it to be a surprise.

So she shouldn't ask her again.

After calculating the amount. Mr. Henry wrote the check and handed it over.

Loveth was very happy, she began to think of what Williams wanted to tell her.

She was happy that all her problems had been solved.

"What could I have done without my dad? He loved me so much. I must not disappoint him again I must make him happy" Loveth thought

The following day. Another meeting was held and the new man was introduced as the new manager.

Williams' heart skipped, he thought of what he had done wrong that made the company want to give another person his position.

He was shaking where he was, sweat was coming from his head. And he began to shake

"What I'm I going to do? Will Loveth still love me if I lose my job? Even if he loved me, will his parents accept that he marry me?" Williams thought.

All that they were saying and the meeting was not his concern, he didn't hear anything.

He just discovered that all of a sudden, people were clapping. He was jolted out of his thoughts.

People were surprised that he didn't know he was called upon.

The managing director repeated what he said. Williams couldn't believe his ears.

He asked the person close to him whether it was his name the director was calling or not. The person confirmed it and he went to the front.

Williams' joy knew no bounds when he was introduced as the director of their new branch. His joy knew no bounds, and all the sweat disappeared.

The promotion letter was given to him. His colleague began to congratulate him.

"Wow! I'm very happy right now. I'm rich now. I'm going to propose to Loveth on her birthday." Williams thought.

He got to his office and tore the letter open.

"Wow! I'm rich, I'm rich. A cheque for a huge amount! Wow! A car! An apartment for only me? Wow! I'm very happy" Williams said to himself and began to dance around his chair in his office.

"This small office is no longer mine. I have a bigger office now, wow! wow! Wow. I'm getting married too" Williams said to himself as he moved around his office.

Williams thought about what he will present to Loveth for her birthday.

He was so happy that he could afford some expensive things now, unlike before.

The thought of being a car owner too gives him more joy. Because Loveth that he wanted to marry has a car. He also sees it as an avenue to win Loveth's parents' hearts.

Immediately after closing at work, he went to order a customized cake. He gave them the names to inscribe on it.

He thought of getting clothes for her too. He went to a nearby boutique and showed them the picture of Loveth to get a perfect size for her.

They brought some clothes for him to check. he pointed to the two most beautiful ones. He bought them and left the place.

"I hope the cloth will size her", Williams thought.

He was almost at home when he remembered that he has not bought the ring. He couldn't get back again that day because it was getting late.

He thought of getting it on the morning of the party.

Williams got home, hat down, and brought out the letter again. He read it line by line. He didn't check well initially.

"Wow,! My salary now even doubled the present one. And I have ten days to enjoy myself before resuming my new office. I'm happy" Williams thought.

"Who should I tell first?" Williams thought.

"Yes! My dad,! I need to call my dad right away" Williams said to himself

Williams dialed his dad's number thrice but he didn't pick it up. up

"What could have happened? Why did he put his phone? Williams thought.

He dropped the phone and went to cook. He was in the kitchen when he heard that his phone was ringing.

He rushed to the sitting room to pick up his call.

"Oh! It's my dad!" He said.

He dialed his number and his dad picked it up.

"Hello, son! How are you? I missed your calls. Hope you are fine?" Mr. Dickson said.

"Yes, dad! Guess dad" Williams said happily.

"Just tell me, I'm not good at guessing beside I'm not in a happy mood. My car got a pot and I need to fix it" Mr. Dickson said calmly.

"Dad! Your car is fixed already. Guess now" Williams said again.

"Son! Please tell me" Mr . Dickson said curiously.

"I've been promoted. With na new car, new accommodation, and a cheque" Williams said happily.

"Wow! Wow! Wow,! I'm very happy for you son. Noyouree wife too. Have you seen someone?" Mr. Dickson said happily and jokingly.

"Dad! I've heard you. We will come together during the weekend" Williams said happily.

'Wow! I can't wait to meet my daughter-in-law" Mr. Dickson said jokingly.

"Alright, dad! I will send the money to you. My regards to mum and others" Williams said and cut the call.

Loveth was happy that he has a man on her new birthday. She thought of how to organize a small party.

"But why are mum and dad not talking about my birthday.?Maybe they don't want me to celebrate it" Loveth thought.

"Williams said he wanted to tell me something, hope it is not about that wicked man. But I don't think so. With what happened to him that day. I don't think he would come closer to me again" Loveth thought.

Mrs. Henry and her cook went to the market to get all the necessary items needed for Loveth's birthday. Unknown to Loveth every arrangement has been made including the venue and the cake for the birthday.

Luckily for them, they came back when Loveth was asleep. They arranged all the items neatly in the store.

Mr. Henry already booked the MC.

Williams has booked those that will do birthday surprises for her.

Loveth did not have a clue about all these. She was just surprised about the whole thing that even Williams didn't talk about it.
