Asking money from Zenaida

Zenaida seems to be hurt by the words of her uncle but she seems to be trying so hard to deny her own feelings with a forced light smile on her face.

Zenaida asked Matteo again " I will give you the money. what about your lunch?"

Eventhough Zenaida tried to hide her hurted feelings by her uncle with a light smile on her face. But her voice wasn't able to completely hide her disappointment towards her uncle. Her voice was mixed with a little bit of sadness in it too.

But, Matteo who was completely ignorant about Zenaida's feelings continued his work to hurt Zenaida's feelings more. He said " Just give me the money. I can buy the lunch on my way. "

This time, Zenaida left the living room without saying any further more things to Matteo. She was afraid that if she was to stay there any one more minute, she would say the things to the uncle Matteo which she would regret later.

Did the uncle Matteo come all this way here to just ask her for money?

It isn't that much surprising either because he would always appear at the home once for a month after an absence for a month time. He would say the same thing as now while claiming for money.

He would always appear at the home at around this time which mr. John would pass the money to her every month. Mr. John is a one of the good friends of her father and he is also the boss of her father's workplace before his death.

After uncle Matteo became her guardian, mr. John took the initiative to pass the exact amount of money every month for her living expenses and her school expenses. He would always come in person to see her and he would ask about her living situation.

Then, he would pass the money to her as usual before he left Zenaida's place.

Zenaida doesn't understand what her father has done for mr. John to treat her this well. If it wasn't for his money, maybe be she wouldn't even have got the chance to go to the school as now. Maybe she would have been starving for few meals a day too.

Eventhough Zenaida doesn't want to be a burden to her uncle, her uncle isn't doing any kind of job to earn money according to her knowledge. He would even ask her for money every month without any mistake.

This happened since the beginning of her life with her uncle as her guardian. Her uncle would take a huge amount of money from the money which she received from mr. John. There would be left only little money for Zenaida for all her school and living expenses.

After taking money, her uncle would disappear without a trace until the next time which he would appear at home to ask her for money again. Until that, Zenaida had to manage the rest of her money for her every expenses at the home and the school.

Sometimes she would even have to skip some of her meals and sometimes she would just eat the cheapest things to satisfy her hunger.

Later, at the bright star high school, she was able to receive a scholarship. Now she doesn't have to starve anymore, eventhough she couldn't waste money excessively for unnecessary things.

Zenaida's uncle isn't aware about her scholarship thing and Zenaida also decided to not to tell him about it too.

Even among the family members, there could be secrets.

That is what she thought of while hiding this from her uncle.

With these thoughts, Zenaida reached her room and took the money which was hidden inside a book of her. Then, she left her room with the money and gave them to her uncle without a single word.

He happily took the money and left right away without even looking back after saying " Zenaida, daughter, then, I'll go now."

Zenaida looked at the leaving figure of her uncle.

He seems to be very excited everytime when he received money from her.

But does he only care about money?

What about her?

Doesn't he care about her?

Didn't he readily agree to be her guardian?

Wasn't it because he cares about her and he didn't want to see her go to an orphanage?

But , he didn't even ask her how she was doing atleast.

Didn't they see each other for exactly a month time? Yet, he didn't ask her about her wellbeing. Even, mr. John would come to visit her every month and he would even ask about her school work and life matters.

Zenaida clenched both of her hands tightly.

She doesn't want to think about her only family member in this way.

She sighed loudly.

How could she expect more and more from uncle Matteo in this way?

She should be just grateful towards him for not sending her to an orphanage and not letting her become an orphan who doesn't have any family member at all.

Uncle Matteo has been this way since her mother was alive. He has been this careless always and he has been asking money from her mother too.

Maybe this is the way of he treated his family.

That must be it.

She should stop herself from worrying about this matter like a child.

With this thought, she strode towards the sofa and turned off the tv which was currently telecasting.

Then, she sat down on the sofa in a relax manner and took the phone out of her bag to call for Ava who is currently at the cafe which situated near her home.

Roy who was playing with his phone secretly behind the back of Joy, noticed time to time that Carl is staring at the front door of the classroom.There is an opened book on Carl's desk but Roy didn't notice all these time a one time which Carl was looking at his book.
