Upon receiving reports from her subordinates, Daisy used the ancestral ring to sense Danny's location. Despite her heritage, she wasn't all-powerful. However, given she had imbibed Danny's blood for over two hundred years, locating him was relatively easy.
The forest spanned hundreds of kilometers, with only one entrance. Evading the intricate magic circles to reach the center required considerable effort if not entering through the half-meter-wide opening.
Feeling the danger, she initially thought of circling hundreds of kilometers to find an entrance. However, Situ Mu advised against it, claiming he could access the center from any entry point.
Daisy pondered Situ Mu's unwarranted presence. He stuck to her like sticky toffee. However, his presence now seemed to serve a purpose.
Upon entering the Golden Leaf Forest, they noticed fighter jets streaking across the sky, clearly from the M.R. Laboratory. Out of curiosity, they approached and found Liu Yi's group.
Initially surprised to see Situ Mu, their expressions turned to shock upon noticing Daisy. She lightly smiled, relishing the intimidation she exuded, except Situ Mu, who remained unafraid—a unique exception.
Liu Yi's group was conflicted whether to engage or retreat into the fighter jets. Remembering Dr. Situ's earlier query, Liu Yi had to respond truthfully, "Dr. Situ, we accidentally stumbled here while chasing Fiona and Michael."
"What were you chasing them for?" Daisy inquired, genuinely curious. They were well aware of Michael's deep ties with the Wolf and Mage clans. Why would they provoke these humans?
Feeling the situation strange, Liu Yi's group found it challenging to explain. Eventually, Liu Yi answered honestly, "Because they took Prince Danny."
Situ Mu furrowed his brows, presuming their relentless pursuit of Danny indicated an intent to capture him for experimentation. He anticipated Daisy's reproach.
As expected, Daisy let out a cold snort, jabbing Situ Mu with her elbow, casting him a glare, complaining coquettishly, "You won't let go of my brother?"
Situ Mu embraced her waist, leaned close to her ear, and sincerely explained, "Sweetheart, this truly has nothing to do with me."
Witnessing the intimacy between the human and the vampire, Liu Yi's group was undoubtedly stunned. Realizing the misunderstanding, Zhang Qisheng hurriedly clarified, "No, we actually wanted to save Prince Danny."
"Oh?" Daisy turned towards him with interest, "Can you save him?"
"We won't unless it's necessary," Liu Yi adjusted her glasses, appearing serious but somewhat discontent.
"Currently, he's got my niece pregnant. My sister even quarreled with her father for him. She said if anything happens to Danny, she won't live either. So, I had to come and save him personally." Liu Yi conveyed the implications behind her words.
Daisy caught the underlying meaning and, in a teasing and languid tone, retorted, "So, your implication is that my brother has flirted with your niece?"
"Of course! My sister is so obedient; she wouldn't do anything like that while still in school." Liu Yi sounded indignant.
"Huh, my brother is genuinely well-behaved. I've never exposed him to such knowledge. It must have been your niece's initiative." Daisy refused to yield.
In jest, she never let Danny learn anything improper. Everything he learned from his teachers was about kindness, peace, sincerity, and friendship. How could he possibly make a blunder as soon as he went out? Self-taught without guidance? Getting a young girl pregnant?
Impossible.
Unbeknownst to both the human-vampire pairs, they resembled parents on both sides of a love affair, summoned to discuss their children's romance.
Situ Mu, on the other hand, wished fervently for Danny to get involved with someone outside, preferably with a girlfriend, so he would forget about his sister.
"Alright, no matter what, our goal is the same. Why not join forces and rescue Prince Danny together?" Zhang Qisheng suggested, trying to mediate.
"Do I need to join forces with you?" Daisy smiled at them with a hint of disdain.
"Not necessary," Situ Mu chimed in, his hand resting on her waist, the other playing with her silver hair. He spoke softly, "But can't we save them together, okay?"
"That's about right," Daisy turned her head with a proud and charming look, gazing at him.
Though Situ Mu expressed a willingness to help, Zhang Qisheng and his team couldn't help but feel abandoned. In their eyes, they had been forsaken by Dr. Situ.
They consciously shifted their gaze away, leaving it on the highly attractive couple making intimate gestures. Even the non-single ones found it hard to bear, let alone the single ones among them.
Impatient Zhou Lanxun also ignored them, eyeing the tree trunk he had kicked, saying, "Shall we go find Prince Danny now? Dr. Liu has his location on her phone, but we can't get through."
"No rush," Situ Mu shook his head. "The confinement enchantment here still needs 56 minutes and 03 seconds to open."
"How did you observe that?" Daisy was the first to ask, and others were curious too.
"Judging from the color and patterns of each leaf, the direction of trunk and branches growth, I inferred the distribution of magical factors. I also observed the fluctuations of magical factors around by the wind direction and the trajectory of falling leaves. Although subtle, it's still observable," Situ Mu patiently explained.
Others were astonished. How did they not possess such eyesight?
"If I snatch your glasses, can you still observe?" Daisy suddenly showed a mischievous interest, lightly raising her eyebrows.
Speaking of which, after becoming a butler, Situ Mu equipped himself with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses, looking quite refined.
"No," he saw the mischief in her eyes and couldn't help but feel she was truly adorable.
His heart was melting; what should he do?
He smiled, pinching her chubby cheek and continued, "But you still won't be able to save Danny."
Daisy, not willing to admit defeat, pouted childishly, "Fine, I'll just smash everything here."
"Triggering the killing array, Danny won't survive either," Situ Mu chuckled, looking at her with a gaze filled with indulgence.
"Humph, so troublesome," Daisy frowned, complaining, "I don't know how Michael and Fiona got involved with Timothy. Once I catch them, I'll skin them alive."
Although she complained, her last words carried a hint of malevolence. However, to Situ Mu, her enchanting voice always sounded sweet and tender.
Suddenly, he wanted to kiss her.
He gently caressed the hair on the back of her neck, whispered softly in her ear, "There are still 53 minutes and 47 seconds. Shall we take a stroll around?"
