Monologue of the Strong

Jordan finished his exploration of the Jostar mansion's remains after only an hour's time. He wasn't hoping for anything too big, maybe a treasure chest or some secret stone mask that transforms people into vampires. But, alas, he was destined to be disappointed.

He climbed out from the rubble and looked back at the collapsed house with some emotion in his eyes.

This little estate was the cause of so many strange adventures.

Suddenly, he felt a prickling sensation on the back of his neck. His spirituality and sixth sense told him he was being watched.

High Hopes emerged on its own and faced towards the direction of the gaze. Jordan followed it and looked... up.

...

Drid stood in the air with his arms crossed across his bare chest. His eyes looking down from high above made him seem like judging Jordan beneath him as an ant in comparison to himself. Then Drid spoke.

"It's been a long time since I was excited. Congratulations, JOJO." Drid's voice echoed loudly.

"Huh?" Jordan looked taken aback.

He didn't know who this guy was and yet he knew his nickname. Did he confuse him with someone else?

"Are you talking to me?" Jordan questioned.

In response, Drid just smiled a bit evily.

"You've kept me waiting, Jordan Jorlando," Drid said, while he slowly walked down the air like walking down steps.

Jordan's expression didn't change, but his heart started to beat faster. This man was waiting for me? And why does he give me the feeling of him being absolutely impossible to fight? Inwardly, he was sweating as Drid approached.

"Allow me to introduce myself to you. I'm the one who will become god. My name is Drid." Drid said, while he nonchalantly flexed his hand muscles during his approach.

"JOJO, everything you will do has already been foreseen by me. I have come to claim what is mine." Drid said, as he finally reached the ground and stood 2 meters away from Jordan.

*Overwhelming*

*Menacing*

From where Jordan stood, it looked like the sun darkened and an overbearing aura flowed out from the man named Drid. It was so suffocating that Jordan collapsed to his knees and had a hard time breathing. Then, the aura receded just as quickly as it came, allowing Jordan to breathe once again.

"I am in a good mood," Drid said, as he put his hands behind his back.

"JOJO, do you know what it's like to be me?" Drid asked, rhetorically.

Jordan didn't answer, because it seemed that Drid would answer the question anyway. He had already figured that this guy was someone who loved the sound of his own voice.

"Exhilarating!" Drid exclaimed, with a flash of cruelty and evil from his blue eyes.

"During my life, I've met so many who have considered me an abomination. I really can't understand them. How could lacking empathy be a disease? It is simply a gift for a perfect unfeeling god!" Drid continued.

"And look at me now, JOJO. I have already ascended to the ranks beyond mortal men. Does this not prove the superiority of myself? I can create matter, I am the law, I am a god!" Drid opened his arms up exaggeratingly as if embracing the sky.

Jordan had an expression on his scarred face that was uglier than crying. He really didn't know how to deal with a megalomaniac like Drid. He guessed that Drid might have been the cause of what happened to this world. Judging by the way he was speaking, Drid already knew he would arrive here. This meant he had access to future information either directly or indirectly, otherwise, how could he know he would be searching the Jostar estate?

He was really tempted to quote Thanos at this time: 'I don't even know who you are?!'

The difference between this monster and himself was like heaven and earth. It felt like he had already lost the fight before it even started. He had punched forward with all his strength in order to live a new life, but his fist was only as strong as soft cotton.

"The predicted time is now. JOJO, your stand is mine!" Drid announced loudly.

"Galaxy Green!" Drid called out his stand and it reemerged slowly from his torso.

*Menacing*

*Overwhelming*

Jordan snapped out of a daze and commanded High Hopes at his side.

"High Hopes, Vegas Lights!!!!" He said, cracking his neck.

High Hopes began to pulse with plasma as its key fingers sunk into the space in front of it.

"Negation!" Drid commanded calmly.

A black wave pulsed from Galaxy Green's hands and a planet on Galaxy Green's crown hummed. The wave passed through High Hopes and caused the plasma to disappear as quickly as it appeared, leaving Jordan standing openly.

"What's going on?!" Jordan exclaimed.

"High Hopes?"

"HAHAHA, JOJO! This is the power of a god. Galaxy Green can negate anything in existence. Even concepts are not safe. YOU CAN'T ESCAPE FATE." Drid laughed happily, seemingly enjoying himself.

*SHsss*

Jordan took a deep breath while glancing at the angry-looking Galaxy Green stand hovering above Drid. A thousand different emotions seemed to flash through Jordan's eyes all at once. He was tempted to despair at the face of completely being in the palm of Drid's hands. He remembered that only a few days ago, he was happily laughing with his friends on a college campus. He remembered the feeling of being transmigrated into the Jojo universe, and how excited he was. But now, he realized that all this had been manipulated.

It had been planned by the person in front of him. Somehow, some way, he was here only as nutrition for this madman who wanted to be a god. The despair was overwhelming him, until he came to a breaking point. It felt as if the whole world stopped for a moment and the deepest part of himself was revealed to him. He would make a choice now that would define who he would be. A voiceless voice seemed to ask him.

'Will you give up even though it seems impossible?'

'But there's no way to win. I'm just a regular guy who ended up here! How can I possibly challenge a guy who is like a god?!' Jordan screamed back at the question with a thousand different justifications.

But the voice just asked him again on repeat, like a broken record.

'Will you give up even though it seems impossible?'

He was reduced to silence as his justifications were useless to answer the question. It seemed that it needed to be answered very simply and without external reasoning. Eventually, Jordan finally found the answer.

'I won't.'

At this moment, in reality, Drid seemed disappointed that he couldn't see the expression of despair on Jordan's face. He reached out with his hand and commanded Galaxy Green.

"La Grange!"

And a small spiritual seed sunk into Jordan's chest and took root in his soul.
