GILBERT MANSION
London, United Kingdom
18.15
Tonight, Darren Ewald Gilbert, the billionaire, looked handsome in a blue shirt combined with a tuxedo and bow tie.
His appearance was almost perfect for making many pairs of eyes only on him, especially the owners of a beautiful body. Indeed, they would all compete with each other to be the billionaire's lover.
He looked at his reflection in the mirror before walking out of the room.
"Yes, perfect." He whispered in tandem with firm steps towards the elevator that would take him down to the floor where his favourite car and Dante were already waiting for him.
When the elevator door opened, the favourite car was ready proudly. At the same time, Dante rushed to open the car door while bowing.
"Good evening, sir. Please."
No words came out from his firm lips. Not even just a glance at all.
Tonight, his expression was utterly unreadable. No one could guess what the billionaire was feeling right now except for one person, Dante.
The man who Darren trusted as his personal driver repeatedly glanced at his master through the car window. His silhouette inevitably wriggled full of deep sorrow.
'I'm so sorry for Mr Darren. He has to attend Miss Earl's wedding. Mr Darren should have married Miss Earl, but fate said otherwise. Fate has snatched Miss Earl very ruthlessly.' Dante thought.
Honestly, Dante felt sorry for his master's fate. Since witnessing the tragic death of his mother, his master had never been close to a woman until he met Calista Earle Kafeel.
However, it was a pity because their love did not go easy. In Calista's heart, she still had feelings for her ex-lover, Leonard Fidel Christiano, so Darren chose to withdraw for the sake of the woman's happiness he loved deeply.
Darren should have kept Calista on his side. Unfortunately, he didn't do that. For him, the most important thing was not his happiness but Calista's happiness.
It had been long since Darren was lost in his own thoughts until the car he was driving was moving very slowly. No doubt, he growled in annoyance, so he shouted.
"Increase the speed!" The sound of his screams was deafening.
"Alright, sir."
Dante answered as he increased the car speed, speeding through the centre of London.
After such a long journey on the streets, now, the car that took him away had arrived at a tall building. A building that has been decorated very grand and luxurious.
The bodyguards guarding the main yard rushed to open the car door.
"Welcome, sir. Please." They greeted as they moved to give space for the billionaire to enter the room filled with happiness.
Still, Darren didn't rush down either. Honestly, it was hard for him to be there, especially when he met his ex-fiancé, who was now side by side with his business partner from Leoca Blue Sea, PT.
No, Darren couldn't do that, but the invitation sent directly by the Kafeel family forced him to take decisive action.
A heavy breath seemed to accompany the roar of his breath when the corner of his eye caught a sign that read, Happy Wedding Leo–Earl.
Reading it had made Darren's heart feel like it was slashed by a thousand knives until his eyes heated up instantly. Now, even when he exhaled, he felt like swallowing snake venom.
His name should have been written there. Instead, Leo's name appeared in front of his eyes.
He repeatedly blinked so that the stupid tears wouldn't come out to wet his sturdy cheeks. He wanted to get out of there immediately, but as a real man, he had made up his mind.
His sturdy lips appeared to smile the best smile ever as the bride and groom walked towards the altar, where the happiest couple stood side by side.
Attending his ex-fiancé's wedding party was not an easy matter. Darren Ewald Gilbert must be heartened to see the woman who until now still in the highest position of his heart side by side with another man.
He should be the one standing there on the altar of marriage with his beloved woman. Unfortunately, fate had played a cruel game on both of them to the point of snatching the woman he loved from his side.
"I never thought that attending your wedding would be this painful, Miss Earl." He whispered until his voice sounded like he was muttering.
At the same time, footsteps were seen heading towards the place where the bride and groom were sides by side in happiness.
Oh, how sad the fate of the billionaire was. Like being hit by a storm amid heavy rain, that was the most appropriate metaphor to describe how Darren Ewald Gilbert felt right now.
The tired breaths that he let out slowly accompanied his footsteps that getting closer.
"Congratulations on your marriage. May you be happy and soon be blessed with Leonard-Earl junior," he said while carving a distinctive smile that made his handsomeness increase many times.
"Thank you for coming, Mr Darren. It's an honour for us that you took the time to attend..."
"It's nothing, Mr Leo. Besides, how could I not come? In any part of the Earth, I will certainly make special time to witness your happy day with Miss Earl." He said as he glanced at Calista.
Meanwhile, the one who was being glanced at seemed to be lowering her face because she couldn't meet the gaze with a pair of blue eyes that stared at her with sharpness.
"Once again, I congratulate you on your marriage." He hugged Leonard and, of course, the typical male hug.
After that, he went to Calista's side. He stared at the owner of that beautiful face with a gaze only understood by both of them.
Darren unexpectedly hugged Calista's tiny body tightly with a whisper.
"Congratulations on your marriage with Mr Leo. Colour your days with happiness and no more tears. If that happens, then I will snatch you from Mr Leo by force."
The sentence that had just tickled the ear had made her tiny body stiffen instantly. Never before had she thought that Darren would attend her wedding.
'After a long time you disappeared, I never thought that we would meet in this way, Darren. Sorry, because I've scratched your wound very deeply.' Calista's mind was wrapped in deep sadness.
Now, the gaze of the grey eyes silhouette looked bleary on the stocky back that was getting farther and farther away. It even disappeared among the invited guests.
Of the many men on this Earth, few people have the heart like Darren. He let the woman he loved pursue happiness with the man in her past. The man that had scratched her wound very deeply.
"Goodbye, Miss Earl. Goodbye, my love. Goodbye, my past." Darren's low voice combined with a deep and long gaze before walking away from the towering building that written, Happy Wedding Leo-Earl.
