Book 6: Forever Grand

Finally! I have graduated finally! I wanted to shout at the top of my lungs.

Everyone has that smile painted on their lips, full of hope and happiness. Well, except for my partner and friend Daisuke Kane.

I walked to where he is and congratulated him but he just frowned at me, I wondered what he was thinking.

"Hey, aren't you glad to graduate?" I asked him as I sat next to him and handed him a mug of beer.

"Of course I am, I finally can get rid of you," he forced out a joke that didn't sound like one.

"I know our families are not here, but they have their reasons, right? Mine was lack of money and yours probably was lack of time," I consoled him but his back was still so stiff.

"Maru, accompany me to my palace," he sounded so serious I couldn't bear asking if it was a joke.

"Why?" I asked. I didn't know how to turn him down. After all, he played a huge part to my graduation.
