P.O.V Cathia
"Leo..." I called him. He stopped and looked back at me. "Be careful."
He smirked as to tell me that I shouldn't worry about him. Well, yeah. He was right. Why should I worry about him? He always intimidated and scared me. But still... He had talked with that creep and by their discussion, I concluded that they lived in some orphanage together, and he also knows Darren. One more thing, it doesn't seem like they had friendly terms with each other.
"Yes, what now?" Leo said after he shut the car's door behind him.
"Don't pretend to be in a hurry, Leonard. Did you never hear, haste makes waste?" That creepy man was even smiling creepily.
"Yeah, wastes like you." Leo lifted a corner of his lip. That guy's face contorted a little, but he quickly masked it. They were six all total, but I think none of them saw me yet, other than their creepy boss.
"Well, you finally got a girl. I thought you'll never make it. I mean... I thought, no girl would ever like you." 'Oh, crap...!' He gestured towards me and the rest of the gang also looked in the pointed direction, making me sit in an awkward situation.
"It's my headache, not yours that I have a girlfriend or not," Leo snapped back at him.
"Oh, come on now, Leonard. We were friends, right? It's my headache too." He again smiled. Still creepy and chilly. He didn't try hiding the hatred in his eyes.
"We were not friends, pin this in your head. It'll be good for you," Leo pressured every word he said. He was fuming.
"Be easy, Leonard. After all, you've also got a girl with you." He was continuously smiling like Leo was telling him jokes, and I knew his smile was irritating Leo. I knew, how irritated he becomes in seconds. Lifetime experience registered!
"Don't threaten me with a girl. It's been three years, I think you should better remember my temper."
"Why do you think I don't remember that?" He said in a tone like tempting Leo for a fight, "But I'm not here to soothe you."
"Okay then, let's see how far have you gained muscles." Leo was filled with rage, so he jumped on that guy and punched him. Suddenly, all the other gang members moved with a shock and came towards them.
"Stay back! No one's gonna fight with him. Not until I say." He said while pushing Leo aside and standing up, " He's my corrival, my enemy, and my food." Leo was now truly furious, just like when I kidnapped Darren. 'Wait... Is Leo angry with me because I kidnapped his brother? Oh, generous snacks! Seriously?'
Leo unbuttoned his cedar brown color shirt and threw it away. "It's enough! Today I'll close this chapter, once and for good."
Leo again came forward and tried to punch that creep with his left hand, but that creep held his fist. Leo took the chance and punched his stomach with his right fist, making that guy double over.
"I think it's enough for you to remember me!" Leo growled at him and didn't even give him time to recover. He pulled him up from his collar and this time, Leo punched his face.
With the blow, he was thrown down on the street ground. Blood spat out of his mouth as he coughed it. 'Is he this much weak that he can't even cover two blows?' I thought, but I couldn't possibly guess. What I could guess was, that my life was going to change now being with Leo and Darren, and Caitlin and Evelyn. The guarantee was right in front of me.
"Enough!! Rip him apart if you can!" He said in between shallow breaths. And all the other gang members pounced on Leo.
Leo was defending himself, but what could he do in front of six well-trained war dogs? He was fighting with them and they were punching him continuously. But the thing that influenced me was that he wasn't giving up. He was cursing and fighting back continuously.
Leo looked at me and I couldn't understand the meaning of his look. 'Was he cursing and tempting them more so that he could divert their attention from me?' I felt a little stressed. 'Why am I thinking that Leo could be so good? No one ever did anything for me. And why isn't he using his power?'
I saw bruises on Leo's arms and his whole body. 'I shouldn't be here. I shouldn't be...' And I dashed out of the car and out of the street.

P.O.V Leonard
She moved out of my sight. I was looking at her while a guy punched me hard on my left shoulder. I groaned silently. I couldn't use my powers because my powers were not something normal, and I didn't want to show them to any normal being. I never had.
"Looks like it was a paid girl because she left you. I never knew that you could go down this much, Leonard." He smirked. I didn't know that Cathia could leave me alone just because she would be scared. I fought so that they won't hurt her, because last time, they hurt Darren because of me. And this time, it was Cathia.
"Stop!!!" That freak growled who was their leader. I looked up at him, but he was facing his other gang members.
"You all can leave now, I'll handle him." What's happening? Am I dreaming? Is the showtime over?
"But boss what happened to your e......" One of them asked him, but he cut him off growling again.
"Be off with your ugly faces!" And they all pondered for a minute but then, rushed towards the other end of the street, the opposite one to which Cathia was gone.
'Oh, Cathia... Now I again have to search for you...! All again... Urgh! You're so annoying.'
That jerk turned towards me, and now I saw what had happened. Without skipping a beat, I looked around and found Cathia on the other side of the street. She smiled when she spotted me looking at her. She was literally burning with red, her eyes and hair were looking like a lithium flame.
She walked towards me slowly. She was still controlling him, making him look blankly at the wall.
"Go, and don't stop till you've walked a mile," Cathia said to him and he started walking with a nod.
I looked back at Cathia while she managed to calm down the illumination. She was coming back to normal.
"Thanks. A... I thought that..." I felt a little awkwardness in my voice. "...that you left me."
"I wasn't able to control them all because of the new moon, so I went away and controlled only one who could control them all," She explained.
"Oh..." I sighed deeply. "Let's go," I said while picking up my shirt.
"But..." She pointed towards my bare chest which was now covered with bruises and contusions. "What about these and... they are also on your face."
I looked down at my body and then back at Cathia again. "Don't worry, I'll wear the shirt. No one will know."
"Hmm......" She hummed in response.
"Let's go before they come back," I wore the shirt. She didn't ask me about that guy. Well, it was good.
The rest of the drive was silent. When we reached home, she finally spoke, "Leo, listen."
"Yes?" I said while unbuckling my seatbelt.
"I'm sorry for kidnapping Darren. I didn't want to. I was just scared." She said while looking down at her hands, tangled together in her lap.
"Scared of.....?"
"I've heard about you all, but my mom told me that you all are bad people and that I shouldn't believe you. And knowing that I couldn't control Darren, I didn't want him to live, for he could cause me troubles."
I listened to her carefully. "Well, Caitlin called you tonight, so that we all can share our stories and speak out whatever is inside us all, and so that we could tell you about our mission. It's time to recall the buried past." And I moved out of the car.
"Hey, Leo I was calling... Whoa, what happened to you? Are you all right?" Caitlin started, even before opening the door fully.
"Nothing. Just met some old bastard. Now don't make it a big matter."
"Okay.... come inside." She still had questions but remained silent.
"Hmm...." I heard Cathia humming behind me.
Caitlin told her, "Today, we'll tell you that what's behind our world and how are we going to save our world from it."
