Trials(Part 2)

'I... cant... move...' Kayla thought to herself, feeling pain all tgrpugh put her body. 'I pushed myself too far. Now, I can't defend myself now. If this guy wasn't here to protect me, then i would have died,' she imagined, the reality of the situation dawning upon her.

'That damn student, he transported me here with his ability. When i first came here, i thought it would be beneficial for me since I could use it as a n opportunity to become stronger, and i did, but now, this hunger is trying to kill me,' she could feel her stomach grumbling even now. It wouldn't br long till she passes out once more. The situation was too much for her to handle.

'But still, i need to dig deeper. I... can't let this stop me. I have... to keep fighting!' she tried to steel her resolve, clenxhibg her fist. Qith every movement she would make, all her bones and muscles would ache. It felt like her body wad being beaten relatedly. Her emergy reserves were near depleted, and tbe beasts inched closer with every passing moment.

"Screw it!" Red Band yelled, amplifying his ability. "Training is useless if the person ends up getting killed!" The lightning burnt through all pf the beasts, killing them off. All their bodies fell to the ground, black smoke escaping their bldies. Right after, he qalked towards wach of the dead bpdies and carved out their mana cores before

storing them away.

Once he was done, he walked over to Kayla, picking her up in his arms. She had lost conciousness once again.

"... I guess i should really help her out," he said to himself. "I really don't have any food on me, but maybe they would agree tp help her?" He thought, activating his ability pnce more, flying into the sky. Where he was heading to, he belived he could help this random student he had encountered while he was out hunting.

"Advanced Grade? These things are definitely King Grade beasts!" Kumon yelled, shooting out a large beam of liggtning from his hands, shocking the strange humanoid creatures they had encountered. One of their dangly habds had fripped onto Kayden's arms. Seeing this, he opened his jaw wide and bit down. Though the skin was tough, his jaw was tougher, and he managed to bit off the hand.

[A foreign matter has been deteched]

[Information is beibg gathered]

[Substance is safe to consume]

'What the...?' Kayden thought, shaking his head, tossing the piece of beast flesh away. 'Safe to consume?' It was then that his mind went back to the time when he attempted to try something with the Shale that had attacked the academy.

'Back then, i believed that if i consumed tbe flesh of the alien, that i would be able to obtain its strength. Could the same actually happen now?' Kayden was starting to regret tossing the piece of flesh away. 'The system also stated that it was safe to consume. Man, i'm such an idiot!'

In the midst of his thoughts, another habd came swinging at him. He twisted his body, dodging the attack, abd opened his mouth wide.

Meanwhile, Shawn and Paul were also doing what they could to fight back. Both of them didn't have any offensive abilities, but they both had incredible physical stats, allowing them to keep up with the advanced grade beasts. As one of the hands came swinging, Paul tilted his head to the side, dodging the attack then grabbing the hand. With all his strength, he yanked, pulling the beast towards him.

"Eat fist!" He yelled, punching the beast in the face once it was within reach. The punch managed to knocked the beast back, however, it quickly repositioned itself and began to swing its habds wildly, hitting everything it could.

"Move!" Zain yelled. "I'll cut them up!"

Hearing what Zain said, both Shawn and Paul immediately jumped out of the way, right before Zain activated his ability. With the mana cores he had absorbed prior to this current situation, he was far stronger than he was back at the academy.

He launched his slashes, and they managed to slash at the beasts, going deep into their flesh abd ending their lives.

Kayden had also bitten down at pne of their hands, ripping the limb and then conauming it thr next second. He couldn't afford to pause what hr was doing due to thr current situation. Although what he had just done felt weird and unnatural, he felt like it was for the best, abd sure enough, he was right.

[Beast flesh has been consumed]

[Negligible mana points have been added]

'Whaaaaa...?' Kayden wasn't expecting something like this to happen. He could feel his body grow stronger somewhat, yet, the system stated that the mana points he had gained were negligible. 'Now i know something is definitely wrong with this thing.'

Kayden swung his hand out, slicing away another hand as he ran forward towards the main body of the beast.

"This shit is getting really annoying," he swung his wide hand diagonally through the body of the beast. His anger, his rage from the fact that hr had just done one of the most disgusting thing he could have ever imagined doing. He compromised his morals, consumed the most unknown substance he knew, and all for what? Negligible mana points?

"Die!!!" He screamed, his eyes glowing bright yellow as he slashed over and over, not caribg about the other habds that were striking his body. "Go to hell!" With the last slash, he finally stopped, allowing the body of the beast to collapse against the floor.

[Advanced Grade beasts killed: 1]

'I need to be faster,' he thought, as his gaze shufted to the other beasts in the area. His eyes, they narrowed as he rushed towards his next target. He lunged at the body of the beast, jabbi g his clawed habd right into the centre of the creature, gripping something hard abd pulling it out.

He activated the extraction technique, absorbing all the energy from the mana core. Looking at the beast, it simply stood there. Unmoving. Dead.

"Awooooo!" He howled, rushing towards his next target.

"What's wrong with him?" Kumon asked, killing another one of the beasts with a lightning strike. "Has he gone insane or something?"

Seeing tbe the way Kayden was currently acting, the others couldn't help but agree. This wasn't the same calculated student they had been fighting beside for a while now. Right now, it looked like there was an actual werewolf in front of them killing all the beasts.

"I heard about this. Kayden, he tends to go rogue at times," Shawn said, remembering his time back at the academy. "I heard from some of the other students that something like this happened during the first time that the first years were assigned to spar against the second years. When he was severely beaten, he snapped abd started attacking like a wild beast, just like now."

What he said was true, however, this wasn't the same Kayden from back then. Now, he was far stronger than he was back then. If hr had truly gone rogue, then there was a chance that this could spell trouble for the others. They were at least thankful that he was only currently attacking the beasts, since they didn't want to waste their energy in having to fight him.

He filled beasts continuously, lowering their numbers. Zain and Kumon as well. Even Paul abd Shawn were helping out, abd eventually, they would clear the area of advanced grade beasts.

In a different part of the jungle, a large beast was resting atop a large hill. Its burn marks looked to be healing. It was in pain, abd even the smaller beasts in the area were waiting for it to die so that they could consume it flesh.

Meanwhile, at the base of the hill, a single person could be seen starting up at the large beast.

"Who... did this?" He said, his fists abd jaw clenched. "Whoever it was, they nearly ruined my plan," he uttered, his eyes shifting towards the beasts around him.

He raised his hand up, and uttered a couple words.

"Come to me," he said, and the body of the beast began to warp and distort. It didn't even try resisting what was happening, as its body was transformed into a small ball which the man now held in his hand. "I might need to deal with this myself."

The next moment, he opened his mouth wide, and consumed the small, glowing white ball he held. He gulped down, swallowing the spherical object, and right then and there, something began to happen to the man.
