Beast Driven System

The modern age of human society had undergone an evolution that changed it forever. Mana had arrived on Earth, and with it, came a meteor shower that threatened to reduce humanity to nothing but rubble and debris. Earth's governments were thrown into chaos because of this, and many military units were deployed to protect the masses from what they could only assume to be the end of the world. Using the most advanced arsenal possessed by the various world military governments, the adverse effects of the meteor shower had been controlled to an incredible degree, protecting most of Earth's inhabitants from utter annihilation. There were countries that were destroyed, leaderships and citizens wiped from the face of the Earth. Reconstruction had to be done to bring the demolished landscapes back to their former glory. It seemed like everything had gone back to normal, however, that was far from the case. Months after the meteor shower incident, world renouned scientists dedicated their time to studying these strange crystalline meteorites. Years later, and something ground breaking had been discovered-abilities. These meteorites, they weren't actually meteorites, but crystals. Where they had come from was unknown and still being researched up till today. From the crystals came abilities that changed humanity forever. Those who could afford the crystals were fortuate enough to obtain strange powers from within. Fire, boulder, serpent, and many others. Many more years passed by, and more and more was being discovered about abilities and the crystals they came from. Everything seemed to be heading up after the phenomenon that nearly destroyed the Earth, but not everything was for the benefit of everyone. For many years, most were oblivious to the presence of abilities on Earth. It wasn't until an alien invasion occoured, that the information on abilities was made public. Strong ability users were needed to defend Earth against the Shales. The government, private and public corporations, and many others, they were all monetizing whatever crystals they could get their hands on, using it as a means of earning revenye from the populace. Those who were rich enough to purchase ability crystals could become ability users, while those who couldn't would simply remain as regular humans. Many rich families in the new world were able to obtain strong abilities for themselves and their children; the ones who would continue their lineage and glory once their parents are no more. In order to learn how to defend humanity from the invasion of the aliens, people from the ages of 16 were ordered to attend a military academy by the decree of the federal government of their respective countries. Failure to abide by this law was punishable by jail time. Kayden, a sixteen-year-old from a city known as Black Saber city. Having lost his parents at a very yoing age, he had to live with his single uncle and his cousin. Like many other teenagers his age, he desired to attend military school to learn how to fight against the Shales. However, being unable to afford an ability, his dreams of becoming powerful seemed like they would be crushed, but that all changed the day he had been given a system that allows him to unlock monsters by completing quests. On his path to evolve, he must face multiple challenges, complete quests and go on missions just to grow in strength. For in the current world, only the strong are regarded, while the weak are cast aside and forgotten. That was the general rule, the rule that governed everything that happened. From a crystal, came a power that changed his life. Now, he must do whatever it takes to save the people he loves and cares about. He must make sure that he doesn't loose the people he cares about once more.

Red Haired Suspect

Henry was one of the strongest second year students. He was someone who prided himself on his strength and his ability to adapt and evolve. Although he wasn't the Titan one of the second year students, he knew well enough that he was more deserving of that position than Patricia. Right now, he was just waiting for the right moment to challenge her for his former position.

As a second year, he had a lot of training and responsibilities to fulfill. Still, that wasn't going to stop him for what he intended to do today. He couldn't stop thinking about the fact that the first year students had dared to overtake the second years in the competition. Although they had won in the end, that didn't mean that they wouldn't still deal with the younger students.

Henry was mostly mad because Patricia, the supposed strongest at the academy, had lost to the second best first year student. His eyes briefly fell on Kayla, before he had shot his hands out, engulfing the rest of the class in his devastating power.

Though the instructors weren't going to sit back and let him do what he wished. Before the flames could hit the students, one of the instructors had jumped in front of them all, quickly activating the power of his magical weapon. This was a red shield with drawings and inscriptions all around it. Activating the weapon, a large ball of green light had covered the students, as the vortex of flames had hit the outer part of the force field, dispersing wildly as it was unable to break through.

Henry didn't stop there, as he quickly sprinted towards the force field, pulling his hand back before delivering a barrage of punches at the force field, coating both his arms in thick layers of flames, almost making them look like they were covered with molten magma and not flames instead. That was how powerful he was, as he was doing the best he could to break through the force field protecting the students.

Meanwhile, the other instructors, while weren't in the force field, had acted quickly, one grabbing both of Henry's arms before activating not his magical weapon, but his ability. The next second, and Henry had suddenly lost consciousness, leaving the students confused as to what had just happened.

'Did that guy just make him fall asleep with his ability? It has to be a mystery class ability, right? I don't think there is any ability in the elemental classes that have such an effect. I wonder how many instructors at this academy have mystery class abilities in the first place,' Kayden thought to himself, as the force field had been brought down, now that the threat had been dealt with.

Looking down at the red haired student lying unmoving on the floor, the instructors couldn't help but shake their heads. This was supposed to be a figure among the first year students, someone who was meant to set a good example for them to encourage them to further pursue strength.

The instructors were sure to make it so that the second year student who be severely punished for his actions. It was strictly against the rules for second year students to attack and terrorize the first years. Seeing as his body was being taken away, Kayden couldn't help but feel a sense of relief overcome him. He was glad to see that one of the students who had dealt with him that night would finally receive the punishment he rightfully deserves.

'What is going on with you?' Kayla wondered to herself, seeing her brother's body being dragged out of the room. At this point in time, she was worried about what they might make him go through as punishment for breaking the rule.

'Hold on. What's up with his energy?' Shawn suddenly wondered. He'd never really pay attention to the affairs of the students during classes. However, today, something about the red haired student caught his attention.

The class had continued as planned, and not long after, it had come to an end. Kayden was on his way back to his dorm room, when Paul had caught up to him, reminding him of their match. Kayden was about to say something, when suddenly, a red haired student had walked up to him, glaring at him in the eyes.

"Follow me," she said, as she began to walk off, not giving Kayden enough time to think of a response. Not like it was going to help him in his current situation. Looking back at both of them, Paul could help but shake his head. As much as he really wanted to have this match, he was more interested in seeing what the future had in store for the both of them.

"See you later, lovebird," Paul said, walking off in a different direction.

"You bi- You know what, nevermind. A dog has more of a brain than you ever will!" Kayden yelled, before turning back and trying to catch up with Kayla. Following closely behind her, they had eventually made it into one of the girls' dorm rooms. Though he was hesitant to enter at first, he knew he couldn't afford to go again her orders.

Entering the room after her, his eyes fell upon the vast array of items that littered the bed, floor, and chair. He made sure his eyes were partially closed as they glazed over a couple items. However, it was then that red hair had come into his view.

"You're working for these crazy people? I guess I should've been more worried about your own safety than mine," Zain said, chuckling to himself. The next second, and a jolt of lightning had been sent travelling through his body, causing him extreme pain, though he tried his best not to scream.

"What?!" Kayden screamed out loud. 'Why is Zain in here? Why is he being dealt with by these students? Does this all have something to do with the Shade? But how? Zain, he would never do something as stupid as joining a cult. I know him. He's better than that. This must all be some sort of misunderstanding. I'm sure of it!' Kayden couldn't bring himself to believe that one of his friends could perhaps have connections with a shady society at the academy.

"Don't speak unless spoken to!" The boy with the lightning ability yelled, his face displaying an expression of frustration. "Do you understand?!"

"Coming from a bitch like you, I think you should speak louder," Zain replied with a chuckle and a smirk on his face. The next second, and he could feel the same electrifying sensation run all across his body, this time more powerful than the one before. It was clear his words had struck a nerve with the student, as he had lost control and acted out of impulse.

Suddenly, a slap had resounded in the room, followed by the surges of lightning coming to an abrupt halt. With his face swinging to the side from the force of the slap, blood had been split from his mouth, while a large purple hand print could be seen on the side of his cheek. Kayla's eyes were glowing bright yellow, as she was doing the best she could to control her urge to beat up this student.

"You all are bitches if it means we get to the bottom of this conspiracy!" She yelled, glaring at him intently. "Do you all understand?!" She yelled, her gaze falling upon everyone in the room. The Al nodded their heads in response. Meanwhile, Kayla had walked up to the student sitted in the chair.

'Zain, what could you have possibly done to put yourself in such trouble?' Kayden thought, as his body shook uncontrollably. It was then that he had remembered that he hadn't seen Zain during the magical weapons class. Kayla's goons must've taken and brought him over here during the little free time that was available between both classes. Still, if Zain was in fact in cahoots with the Shade, just what were they planning to do at the academy?

Leaning in closer to him, a smile suddenly appeared on her face. The next moment, her eyes began to glow, and Zain could now feel a burning sensation around the region near his Adam's apple. He could feel the skin around that area burning up as the skin was slowly peeling off.

"Bitch! You really think that cause you're the strongest among us that I'll be scared of you? I've gone against people in my life who are far more scary than you," he replied to her actions, and leaned in closer as well."I'm not scared of a little bitch like you."

Kayden had to close his eyes and look away as Kayla had delivered a slap across his face, causing his skin to sting from the burning sensation. Though he wasn't sure, he assumed that she must've activated her ability on the palm of her had before delivering the slap.
