Need to protect

I was about to see my father when I saw Jessica, Shannon, and Amber walking in the direction where my mate was. I left her by the lake. I tilted my head, thinking I should go back and introduce them to my mate formally. Then I looked at the pack house and remembered I should talk to father. I wanted to let them acquaint themselves with Ayumi freely, but their hostile aura made my wolf Drew agitated.

"If those she wolves hurt Ayumi, I will not hesitate to bury them alive!" Drew commented.

"These wolves are no match for Ayumi, you know that. We never beat her before; she can manage to protect herself." I said although my eyes are following Jessica's group.

"Powerful or not, it's still my job to protect our mate." Drew insisted.

"I'm not saying we leave Ayumi alone with them, what I'm telling you is that give Ayumi more credit than she deserves." I tried to calm my wolf.

"Whatever! Screw your meeting with Father, I'm not leaving Ayumi alone." Drew declared. I smiled, "I don't intend to leave Ayumi with them... but I will let her handle them. Let them know how strong their future Luna is". I asked him.

I saw Jessica stomping towards Ayumi, followed by Shannon and Amber. I followed them then hid by a tree not too close yet not too far to where my mate was.

"Look what we have here...the famous Katana Bitch wolf." My eyebrows furrowed hearing Jessica's greeting with their future Luna. Ayumi just stared at the group of wolves with much amusement. Then she grinned at them.

"Take that smile off your face slut, you're not welcome here! " I could not help but balled my fist, I am grasping the patience that is left within me. She insulted my mate.

"To what pleasure do I owe your presence dear...? " Her eyes were roaming around. She might be checking the surrounding or she was looking for me.

"JESSICA! Supposed to be the future LUNA of the Tibolo pack, Beta Javier's one and only daughter". I flinched at her comment, I totally forgot about that agreement. Ayumi stood and then moved closer to them.

"I'm sorry to burst your bubble dear, but no one ever mentioned you not even Devon nor your council."

"My mate is feisty", Drew commented. I smiled in hilarity.

"That's because you ruined everything! I am the chosen mate of Alpha Apollo for Devon. And you bitch is stealing my throne." Pushing her head with her finger. I could feel Drews anger building up. She just grinned at her gesture then stared at her eyes directly.

"Poor Jessica, me robbing you with the position I clearly do not seek. I am here for Devon and not the Luna position. You can go skedaddle and whine to your Alpha now. Taunting me can't actually make me leave Devon." My heart is swelled hearing her.

"I'm not here to taunt you!" grabbing Ayumi's neck then slamming her on the tree. "I'm here to show who's worthy of Devon." My eyes widened. I was about to run towards them then I remembered Ayumi can handle Jessica and the others easily. I will let her teach them a lesson they will never forget.

Both of her companions grabbed each of her arms. Then I saw Jessica trying to insert a syringe on the side of her neck. Drew was agitated.

I saw red.... my mate was in danger... I felt the urge to attack them then before I knew it, I wielded the water from the lake to ice daggers and threw it towards Jessica and the other She wolves.

Get Off My Mate!!!! I growled. I wave my finger in the air, slamming each wolf away from Ayumi. I hurriedly approached Ayumi. Placing her behind me, shielding her from them.

"YOU All HAVE DEATH WISH!!!! How dare you put a finger on her!" I growled at them. I know my eyes now turned black. I felt Drews rage. Ayumi tapped my shoulder; I tilted my head to the side to peek at her.

"Ssshhhhh Devon.... Drew, I am not hurt. Please calm down. I am not a damsel in distress, Love. I can handle them actually." She said with a grin on her face. I ignored her comment and beckoned the syringe with my finger from the dirt using telekinesis then grabbed it midair. I sniffed the syringe then I realized.

"Wolfsbane! They're not only taunting you love they are going to harm your wolf, Alora!" I said to her then, glared at them. "You will definitely die!" Before I could lounge towards the she wolves Ayumi hugged me from behind. She shouted at Luca who was running towards us.

"Luca! Luca! Help me hold Devon." Ayumi shouted for Luca who was running towards us. He stood in front of me blocking my view at the wolves then held me still while Ayumi tightened her grip on me.

"I'm going to kill these bitches, let me Go!" I growled in anger.

"The warriors are coming Devon, they will take Jessica and the others, please calm down!" Luca pleaded. Luca was struggling on holding me then he gestured at Ayumi. Ayumi wields a barrier keeping us three inside while the warriors capture the she wolves. He and Ayumi loosened their grip. I kept pacing back and forth, my anger seething through. Ayumi stopped and hugged me then pulled my head towards her mark.

"Shhhh calm down my Alpha, calm down." she said. I breathe in her scent. She manages to turn off my rage drastically. "That's it, love. that's it.", she said.

"I can't let them hurt you!" I need to protect you." I whispered around.

"You came in right in time, I'm fine. But we cannot go on killing everyone. You are the future Alpha. You need to rationally think and calm down." She pleaded. I placed my forehead against hers...

"No Alpha can think calmly if your mate is put to risk." I spoke. She nodded in response.

"Your pack has too many issues to deal with. Corrupt thinking is rooted among all of you. If you act with violence without thoroughly investigating it, you will end up with how your father handled things... remember my pack." she stared into my eyes. "You're better than this, your better than him, Devon." Compelling me to calm down. I shook my head then took a deep breath.

"No one can easily procure Wolfsbane, we need to know who is backing them up." I said to Ayumi, my voice filled with worry.
