Ayumi

I am Ayumi Madrigal, the sole Survivor of Katana pack. Katana Pack are werewolves who are blessed with abilities sought after by people. Abilities we can harness when we turn 18 years old after our first shift. We share these abilities with our true mate, mate chosen by the Moon Goddess. Once a Katana member dies our abilities are passed on to our family member or our mate. Making them acquire more strength, providing them with a new ability. I have been hunted for 8 years now by Tibolo pack; the people responsible for my packs' demise. Although I am powerful, revenge is not an option. Surviving is my priority. I have discovered recently that my mate is the only Son of Alpha Apollo Saavedra head of Tibolo pack. He is my hunter who turned prey. Will he survive the surge of pain till the full moon? How will his pack accept the fact that now I am paired by the Moon Goddess to its future Alpha.

After what happened days ago, Devon has been overprotective of me. Whenever he had to do something, he always asked Luca to watch over me. It felt like I was treated like a kid. Needed tending always. I was creating a faction amongst his pack. I felt responsible for causing a scene.

He investigated the incident and had interrogated Jessica and her colleagues about the ambush they made of which I was involve with. Shannon revealed that they were tasked by their beta to try to eliminate me. Some of their pack members did not want me to be their Luna. Now, it felt like I was living amongst my enemies. It was more uncomfortable than my life before.

Beta Javier had speculated that I was only bewitching him. Even his father and other werewolves thought so. Devon was furious, he wanted to leave his pack, but I could not let him.... It was his birth right and his obligation to rule this pack. He can reform this pack once he rises as their Alpha. If we leave his pack, they might end up attacking the other pack with their senseless beliefs. I obliged Devon to stay. His father has become even more delusional. After losing Tessa and learning what crime she had committed. He lost some of the werewolf's respect.

I wanted to leave and go home but hearing all the bickering Devon and his father had for days, I felt responsible. Devon was willing to abandon this pack. He was tired of his father's ideology. It sickens him.

We were lying on our bed. We had occupied Devon's room. I heard Devon sighing for the fifth time. I gazed at him with a questioning look.

"Spill, I can take it" I said to him. He sighed then stared at me.

"They won't let me ascend as Alpha unless you're out of the picture." He looked worried.

"Are they going to pair you with a chosen mate again?" I curiously asked.

"They know they can't make me mate with other she wolves; I already marked you" I heard him say. I just nodded...then silence....

"I have to attend another council meeting, but I can't bring you there since the Beta and other council members who were against you will be there." Devon informed me.

"I don't want to attend either" I pouted my lips. As if I am interested in the Luna position. I thought.

"Please do not leave our room? I am not comfortable with you roaming and walking around without me. It makes me worry." He pleaded.

"I can defend myself Devon, you do not need to protect me" I confidently uttered.

"I know but still.... for my sanity, please promise me love? If you ended up hurting anyone from this stupid pack, they would use it against you". I smirked at the thought of hurting a Tibolo wolf. I sighed then stared at him.

"Alright love" answered him then gave a peck on his lips. "Better go now or your council might think I'm holding you back."

He stood up then walked towards the door. Before opening it up he turned around facing me. His face was full of concern. I walked towards him then hugged him. I buried my face on his neck inhaling his scent. I heard a small laugh coming from him.

"I will come back so do not worry." I bit my lips hearing those words. I nodded as response hugged him more.

As soon as he left the room, I hurriedly packed my bag. I have decided to let Devon settle his issues with his pack. I do not want to become a nuisance to him. I must get away from here, but I cannot bring Devon with me. He was much needed by his pack. Claim his role and settle the issue with his pack. No one is more capable than him.

I also needed to go back to my own territory. I have left it unattended for quite too long. I must rehabilitate the area to allow other surviving Katana to come back to our own land. Now that no one is chasing me, it felt like it was the right time to open doors for the surviving wolves who needed a pack.

I hastily snuck out of the pack house. I scanned the area. Luckily, I have not found any Tibolo wolf roaming around. They must be in the basement where most of their pack meeting happens. I calmed my nerves down. I am too anxious to do this. Abandoning Devon.

"Do we really need to leave our mate?" Alora my wolf, complained.

"We discussed this; I can't keep him from ascending as Alpha. We cannot be on his side. We will just cause nuisance. I have to let him have a room to grow as an Alpha, it doesn't mean I'm giving up as his mate." I explained to her again.

Alora does not agree with my plan but opted to have a good relationship with his pack by allowing my mate to fulfill his role. That is the true duty of a Luna, to support his Alpha no matter what. Devon might not agree with the decision that I have made but I am sure he will understand.

I stripped my clothes off then placed them in the bag. I looked around and covered my tracks and sniffed the area. When I felt sure that it was safe, I shifted into my wolf form.

I stretched my paws then shaken my fur, scanned the surrounding making sure no one was around. I grabbed my bag with my mouth then I sprinted away from my mate's pack house. It felt heavy running away from the Packhouse, running away from my mate. This is the best thing that we could do for now. Leaving him but not giving up on him. I reached the pack boarder without a problem. I looked back at my mate's territory.

"This is for the best mate, be strong. I'll be waiting for you." I said to myself then took off without hesitation towards home.
