Aster, the Living Solar System

TLDR: *Based only loosely on the events of Dragon Ball and the other series that will be referenced *Each volume will only be 6-10 chapters *MC won't be a saiyan for Volume 2, but will regain their form in Volume 3 (Chapter 15-ish) Long version: This is a story about a saiyan child born two hundred years after the events of DBZ, at the beginning of the Dragon Ball Online story, said by Toriyama to be his "true" ending to Dragon Ball. This is my way of giving back to the late author, where I also add in several of my favorite characters from various anime and manga. That said, I am tweaking them to make their stories better fit the mechanics of Dragon Ball. Basic summary of plot: Shin is trying to honor the legacy of the late Goku and Vegeta, but he makes a mistake that ends with the main character finding themselves in the body of the fallen Prince Sadalla. Sadalla, who wants to be like his idols Goku and Vegeta, chooses to go on a journey to reach Super Saiyan.

The Renaissance, First Contact, and Zygarde's training

Sadalla understood what his system was trying to do, but he didn't understand why it had to use a fancy title for the quest like "Renaissance". To him, it felt too scholarly for what was basically just a quest to memorialize something that he himself would probably forget. Heck, the mission basically told him to do nothing, as people were already doing those kinds of things anyways. The remaining Celestica people left inscriptions detailing what had happened for future generations to see. The people of Kalos and Hoenn built memorials to honor the dead. The people of Alola built an altar to Solgaleo and Lunala at the place where space was torn.

The Light Stone and Dark Stone that were the sealed forms of Reshiram and Zekrom were left in ruins of the Unovan Monarchy at a tower called the Dragonspire. Kyurem, the former king's dragon, remained in solitude in a place simply known as the Giant Chasm. Victini returned to the shadows, hiding itself to prevent a clash similar to what had just occurred. New legends born from the coalescence of life energy from the dead took the form of mutated Sawsbuck, a deerlike Pokémon native to Unova. It had four forms representing the four seasons, which could be found together in a special grotto hidden deep in the forests of Unova. These Pokémon would become known as the Swords of Justice, Terrakion, Cobalion, Virizion, and Keldeo.

Across the world, plenty of other beings also formed from this same energy. In Alola, the powerful Tapus formed as guardians of each island. Diance, Latias, and Latios formed in Kalos and Hoenn respectively, and all possessed Mega Evolution abilities. Ghostly Pokémon began to flourish in Kanto and Johto, on the island just between Hoenn and the Celestica, and had mostly escaped the carnage of the past few years. Even they seemed to understand what had gone down, however, as Lavender Tower was constructed to honor dead people and Pokémon alike.

Having absorbed this knowledge, Sadalla fulfilled the first of his new tasks, while the second and third tasks were soon to be finished as well. The issue was the last task. Kyogre may be calm, but that didn't make the seas safe. Plenty of creatures in the depths could easily match Kyogre's destruction if allowed to group up. Creatures in the depths of the ground could do the same, but it wasn't like they could easily reach the surface. The sea creatures easily could. Making contact between civilizations needed sea travel of a sturdier variety that simply trading in the Mediterranean and the coasts of Eurasia.

Sadalla thought this was an issue, but he was a musclehead. He only thought of fighting the creatures. The humans didn't try to fight. They instead pursued speed. They crafted large vessels of wood, steel, and ice. They enlisted the help of psychic Pokémon like Metagross, Meowstic, and Gardevoir to propel their ships slightly above the water, with supersonic bird Pokémon like Staraptor, Pidgeot, and Corviknight to bring people across the waves.

This wasn't a fast invention though. Having so thoroughly battered each other and themselves, the Eurasian powers needed a lot of time to recover. It wasn't until the final collapse of the Eastern Roman Empire in 1478 ARI that they first put to see, and only in 1517 ARI that they encountered the civilizations in the west. Then it was 1633 that the first Galarian explorers began to settle in the New World, under a joint settlement plan between Kalos, Galar, and Unova. They pushed out the native Pokémon, leading to the extinction of many.

Zygarde wanted to intervene and protect the Pokémon, but Sadalla couldn't interfere in this simply because he was mad. His power was still greater than most Pokémon, but Sadalla was becoming worried that maybe Zygarde would be unable to combat the callousness of these people. Sadalla began having Zygarde train. Zygarde needed to leave one of his fifty percent clones to prevent Yveltal and Xerneas, Kalos's names for the death and life elementals, from going wild.

From then on, Zygarde became extremely proactive. Two copies of the ten percent form would constantly be fighting each other, strengthening their power and cycling the cells and cores to gain experience. Another copy would prowl the ancient monuments at sites like Unova: Dragonspire, Kalos: Geosenge, Celestica: Solaceon Ruins, Johto: Burned Tower, Hoenn: Sootopolis City's Cave of Origin, Galar: Stow-on-Side's Darkest Day Memorial, and the Altar of the Sun and Moon in Alola.

Many people witnessed the mysterious doglike creature that would howl at each of the memorials, and many even tried to capture it, but Sadalla was careful. Sadalla had been amazed by humanity too many times, and had become extremely cautious in how he approached the sites. He never approached them at the same time twice in a row, and never repeated the same cycle of visitation. Sometimes he would go to Geosenge four times in a year, and nowhere else. Other times he visited all of them in a single week. It was one of the few things he could do to interact with his people and pull a few pranks on them.

By the year 1775 ARI, the final task had been completed. Alola was contacted by Paldean explorers who got shipwrecked on their way to Hoenn. They were given help with repairs, and got to Hoenn with tales of the last unknown land.
