Mahd Wy’ry

Aerion leaned back as a golden sword swung inches away from his throat with a sound as if it was scratching space itself, the red snake on his shoulder suddenly thrust itself towards the woman.

She grunted as its head hit her in the stomach, Aerion closed the distance and punched the woman in the same spot the snake hit.

Her whole body was sent flying backwards as 2 long golden blades suddenly emerged in her hands. Said golden blades were thrown towards the Fire God who quickly pushed his whole body off the ground to avoid the blades.

His spear materialised in his hands that he used to parry an approaching war hammer aimed at his chest, the woman lost balance from the hit and he pulled his dagger from the holster on the small of his back.

The Asgardian steel sung as it cut through the air towards its target, said woman quickly created a shield that stopped the knife in its tracks.

He quickly winced at the sudden pain in his hand as he painfully pulled his hand free from a hidden spike that erupted form the shield and suddenly speared his hand, ignoring the pain sprouting from his now bleeding hand.

She seemed to want to press her sudden advantage.

A spear suddenly summoned from behind the woman and propelled itself towards her back, she spun without hesitation and kicked the spear off track.

Keeping the momentum she completed the spin so she was facing him once more and shot towards him.

She swung at his face with her fist so he leaned back so that it just missed.

Well that's what he wanted to do anyway, until a golden construct suddenly built in her closed fist. He groaned in annoyance as a golden knife was suddenly pressed against his bruised neck.

In fact almost every part of his body was bruised, he had been fighting the woman for the whole day without stopping.

He took a deep breath of fresh air as he held his hands up in surrender "I yield" he said with a clenched jaw.

She had gotten the better of him in the majority of their fights, though he doesn't use his fire in the fights.

He wants to improve his martial ability and this was definitely a way in doing so.

She laughed lightly at the look on his face "I'm far older than even your brother" she said as the golden constructs disappeared into particles of gold. "Grant yourself some grace" She said as she eyed the bruises formed on her own arms.

"Aye" he said as he took a few more deep breaths and looked down at the grass below. "Again?" He asked.

The woman shook her head in the negative "I'm going to get something to eat" she let him know as his shoulders dropped slightly.

He sighed and watched her retreating form with a mixture of emotions, annoyance, respect and relief.

It had been quite a lot of months since he arrived on Earth, it had been a rather simple time so far. He'd spend most of his days fighting with Thena or talking with Gilgamesh who had some very interesting stories and then sleep in his ship and repeat.

With the occasional Deviant attack.

He had eventually found out where he was, England.

Medieval England.

He had accidentally created a rather large legend, mainly because he would visit villages and castles. Only problem was people always accused him of being a demon, especially once they saw the snake.

But he couldn't resist visiting villages and castles, he would talk with those not afraid and it was always interesting.

The Asgardian language Allspeak allowed him to fluently communicate with all people and it worked with old English.

He had spoken to dozens of lords throughout the lands, hundreds of normal people and he had sometimes given the more intelligent, kind or honourable a gift.

Usually the gift was one of his conjured spears, the forging was far superior than that of the whole world at this point.

At this point he had given away around 5 spears to people in this country, he had told his story to hundreds more.

About how he was brother to Thor & Loki, they always seemed awestruck.

Many knew of the Norse Gods, due to the Viking invasions and settlements that plagued the land hundreds of years ago.

It seemed stories and legends were passed down.

Of course some weren't awestruck and called him a pagan demon and the like, which made sense given these were a Christian people.

Wouldn't make much sense to be kind to a war mongering god of the old vicious Vikings.

He hasn't visited Scandinavia yet, nor did he really plan to. England had dozens of things to keep him entertained, he pulled the green and black compass from his pocket.

He also had plans to explore the galaxy a little bit more before his birthday.

He had gotten various tokens & gifts from earth mainly from ambitious lords hoping to gain favour from a potential God.

He looked down at his favourite of the gifts, and it turns out Gilgamesh is rather good at sewing. He didn't expect that from the usually reserved man but had to admit his skills were top notch.

He looked down at the large black flag with a blood red fire emblem emblazoned in the centre. Gilgamesh said it was a flag for war, also used a lot by Lords in England to express their allegiance.

Aerion thought of one day going to war with his banner flying above his army, he thought back to his goal to travel the galaxy.

What if he found a planet, took it over and simply created an army to carve a bloody empire through the universe.

It was a simplistic view of the whole process of course, but he had to admit the desire was there.

To have his own castle, his own armies.

He could be a King.

His eyes slid to earth, the thought entered his mind that he could just use this planet.

The thought was incinerated by his mind just as quickly, he wouldn't do that to Earth.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, his burning yellow eyes slid to the large shack Thena and Gilgamesh called home.

He walked to the shack and knocked on the wooden door, said door was opened by Thena whose brows furrowed in confusion at his appearance.

"I am leaving Earth" he said bluntly, he thinks he would miss Thena and Gilgamesh they were both rather friendly, he would definitely miss the progress he gained in his sparring sessions.

Thena blinked and Gilgamesh came to the door in confusion "You're leaving?" The man said as his eyes assessed the form of the Asgardian God.

Aerion nodded quickly "Aye, Earth is amazing but alas the rest of the universe awaits" he said as he looked up at the blue sky.

Gilgamesh sighed "Well, I thank you for all the help." He said with a nod as he eyed Thena worriedly.

Aerion knew what that meant, Gilgamesh had explained Thena had something called Mahd Wy'ry.

It sounded similar to a Berserker state, something that could infect Asgardian soldiers in war. They would go mad and attack anything that moves even their own allies.

It was devastating, especially as the rage seemed to only strengthen the Asgardian beyond reason. Usually the only cure was a mercifully quick death.

He eyed Thena, he had to admit he did hope she wouldn't die.

Thena met his eyes and nodded briefly "I shall miss our fights" Aerion grinned he had to admit that was one of his favourite parts of his visit to Earth.

"Of course, I'll be back, we'll have to spar again" he said as his eyes burned orange at the prospect "But, don't be surprised when I beat you" he said with his grin gaining a competitive edge.

She smirked as her fists clenched, eager for a fight.

He offered his forearm to Gilgamesh who grabbed it in the traditional Asgardian way and then offered the same to Thena who repeated the gesture.

He turned and walked back towards his ship, he heard the shack's door close behind him and kneeled onto the ground.

He placed his palm against the grass and injected his magic into the ground, a smile blossomed on his face as Earth's magic responded eagerly.

The magic was still just as playful as the day he came here, he felt a grin light his face as he let go off the ground and the magics jumped out of the ground like fish from water.

He snorted as he dropped back to his knee and placed his open palm against the ground, every bit of magic and divine energy in his body rose to the occasion as before he could think twice he started to pour his energy into the planet.

He wasn't exactly sure why, it just felt right as the grass around him grew and the ground buzzed with the overcharge as the Asgardian God poured his energy into the planet which eagerly accepted, assimilated and evolved around the sudden new energy.

He stood up shakily, his body seemingly held up by the magics of Earth as he walked to his ship like a puppet as his limbs awkwardly shifted back and forth towards the asgardian tech.

He eventually made it to the ship's control panel, the door automatically closed with a woosh behind him as he pressed a button and the ship quickly took off into the sky and within seconds Aerion was surrounded by the stars.
