As he spoke, a thought crossed the man with the hammer's mind. The girl in the photo also had twin ponytails and a sweet smile, somewhat resembling Helen!
"And then?" Howard pressed on.
"Well…" The man with the hammer chuckled sheepishly. Although the couple had been generous, giving a box of instant noodles, there were over a dozen people in the robbery group, and the noodles were quickly devoured. Everyone had been hungry for a long time, and that small amount of food was merely a drop in the bucket. They had been dizzy with hunger before, just hoping for something to eat.
Now that they had something in their stomachs and regained some strength, their desires grew. They weren't satisfied with just one box of instant noodles; they wanted more!
