Chapter 77

DINER

ROBIN'S POV

We were now seated at one of the booths in the Diner, I was seated across the couple while Nasu was standing beside my seat.

Alice wanted to sit beside me along with her mate... the seating arrangement took a bit of time before we ended up like this...

FLASHBACK

As we entered the Diner, I signaled the couple to find a seat first while I looked at the counter, intending to go there first to say hi to some 'FRIENDS" I made when I stayed in this area.

Well, that's actually just for courtesy, since I actually just want to do a little compulsion to have their memories of me, Nasu, and now Alice and Jasper, so when we come back here in the future, there wouldn't be any problem about the whole recognizing us and questioning us not aging.

I should've done this before but I kept forgetting, better be safe to avoid annoying situations, So I should go around doing this to at least all the ones that I got 'CLOSE TO'.

After doing that, I also gave my order and went back to my sibling and soon-to-be siblings, and I can't say I wasn't expecting it, but this scene just gave 'SISTERCON VIBES' to me.

"NO means NO" Nasu stated firmly while looking down stubbornly at Alice's rebellious gaze.

"Why? Why are you being so stingy? You got to be with her all this time, and you still want to keep her all to yourself?" Alice's questioned, annoyed.

"It's a given, she's my sister, she's my imprint, I'm supposed to be with her to protect her, we're a pack, she's my family. Unlike you." Nasu retorted with a smug look.

Children, they look like children. This looks like a children's fight.

As much as I would like to see how long and how it will end, I have to be the adult here. Which is silly, because if I remember correctly, the couple was a lot older than me.

I cleared my throat, not loud enough for the non-related humans around us to hear, but enough to get the attention of the bickering supernaturals.

"Big sister! Good, your back. Tell him-"

"Sister! This midget is-"

Both of them tried to complain to me at the same time but stopped when they saw my expression.

I was smiling, yes. I was smiling at them. A smile that a mother would give a child when they are being disobedient. I'm sure every anime and manga lover has seen this kind of smile before, even in real life. It's scarier when the person's visuals are top-notch and is usually a smiley warm person.

The previously noisy bunch looked like guilty kids, and I even saw them gulp. Even Jasper, who was just quietly watching over the two was affected.

"Behave? No fighting. hmm?" I said still wearing that expression, but controlling my skill so it won't be imbued to my voice. So all this reaction was all them.

I let out a sigh and wished that I could play with Leo to soothe my heart.

Wait. Leo... Fudge...

"I-I'm sorry sister, I was just... Um. I'm sorry." Nasu apologized and glared at pixie, but when he saw a flash of disappointment in my eyes, he stopped and apologized to me again.

I'm listening, I'm listening... I just can't remember where I left Leo. Fudge...

"I apologize too, I should have at least tried to stop them... I-" Jasper started before Alice Interjected.

Oh, you're apologizing too? I'm not mad tho, but I am worried... Wait, I gave him to Nasu.

I couldn't concentrate nor speak to acknowledge them, because I was too worried about Leo.

*Leo, where's Leo? Bring me, Leo.* I told Nasu with a worried look.

It must've looked differently to the couple, but Nasu looked like he finally understood my mood. So like it was a natural thing to do, he took out Leo from the specially made box-like backpack that he set on the floor and gave him to me. He set up Leo's small basin on the table with a bit of water so my boy wouldn't dry up.

"Big Sister, It's not his fault. I'm sorry, I was too excited after finally being able to meet you and acted unreasonably. I'm sorry." Alice sincerely apologized first to me, and then to Nasu. She looked like she was about to cry.

Ok, I feel a bit guilty now. That expression should be illegal, ugh. But seriously, did you not see all this? We just pulled a turtle out of the bag and put him on the table... How much weird tolerance do you have? Or you just didn't notice? But she's looking straight at me tho... that's a bit impossible right? Right?

I understand Nasu acting like that, I raised him since I found him, Trained and disciplined him, so he has experienced my 'GUIDANCE'... I'm also quite literally his world at the moment, we have a bond...

Jasper's was still a tiny bit acceptable, I can still barely interpret it as a reaction of a child who suddenly got to see his friend getting scolded by their family at a close distance. It's pretty awkward, and you also feel like you've done something bad.

Alice tho... her reaction from the very beginning has been a bit... well, it's almost a lot really... like, almost the same level as my current family's obsession with me.

I wonder what exactly she saw in her visions to get this attached to me, come to think of it, she was very welcoming and accepting of Bella and her bull teen hormone-induced shenanigans after seeing just a few happy visions about her, to the point that she supported Edward with everything even at the risk of endangering her coven...

If I assume that she's been seeing visions of me for a while now... and add the circumstances they were in before we even met... it checks out. It's like another formula to make another yandere-ish person. Umu umu, pretty sure that's it, but let's still confirm.

I raised my hand to sigh and have Nasu continue to talk for me since it's a bit suffocating to have to suppress my emotions right now, and it will be more beneficial to be more expressive and sincere when trying to form a bond.

But before I could start, Alice seemed to have regained her jolly mood, she raised both hands to stop Nasu from translating for me.

"We learned to sign for when we met, so you don't have to translate for big sister Robin," She said proudly, she looked like a puppy who wanted to be praised, I swear I could see a faint silhouette of a tail wagging behind her. What happened to being a cat? Eh?

"But she's cute, cute is justice, beauty is justice... not all of the time, but most of the time it is. So I'm gonna do the right thing here. ehem.

I gave them the warmest smile and made sure to convey the emotions of how proud and happy I was about their effort for me.

This is not me trying to trick them, it's my honest thoughts and feelings.

I moved my hands forward, one for each of them, and signaled them to move closer, which they willingly did, if vampires could cry, they would be shedding tears of happiness right now. I held their cheek and pinched them lightly before pulling my hand back.

*You did good, you're so adorable*

"We did our best! Thank you, big sister."

"Thank you ma-... sister"

The couple responded by touching, happy, holding hands, and leaning their heads against each other, content and peace could be seen in their expression.

Seriously, this is a bit much right? How good were the visions?

I heard Nasu clear his throat to get our attention, and I now feel that his negative emotions for the couple have subsided quite a bit.

"I think we should start with the original reason for our change of location. I apologize if I acted too hostile towards you, but I have a duty to protect my sister." He slightly bowed, but without removing his gaze from them.

"I understand, and like I said earlier, We... I was at fault too." Alice accepted and smiled at him, while jasper didn't say anything, he did give a small but sincere smile and a nod of acknowledgment.

*Good! This is good, we're a family, well, we're going to be a family. So far, I am not opposed to having you join my family, my Coven... But you have been addressing me as big sister, and have been saying things that make it seem that it was a definite thing that we are going to be a family, and something about Jasper's statement earlier... And last, what did you mean about your warning earlier? Your reason for seeking me out* I questioned, I still need to pretend I had no idea what their gifts were.

She cleared her throat and sent a gaze to Jasper like she was asking if it was ok, to which he nodded with a loving smile. It's nice that they seem to respect each other enough to not ignore each other's opinions and feelings.

"Let me start with sharing about our gift.." Alice then started telling us about their gift. It was still the same as canon. Jasper with his empathic ability and being able to influence others' emotions. Alice with her being able to see the future, but her's is a bit different, no, not different, but it was a bit improved.

Instead of just seeing short-clip-like visions with no audio, it's now a little longer, and she's able to hear everything in it now, which is a good addition, and less misinterpretation.

They didn't hide anything about their gift, which is a big thing in our community, that's a level of trust one gives to their other half or coven.

Oooooooh, stocks. I just remembered, sticks, we can get more funds for research, business ventures, and my adventures. ehem... Sorry, I got a bit excited.

I cleared my throat to rid my mind of my worldly desires since it was not the time yet.

I couldn't save you earlier... I'm so sorry..." Regret, guilt, anger, pain. Even without Jasper's gift, anyone can feel the emotion radiating from her at the moment.

It was so strong that venom was flowing I could smell the scent of venom coming out as tears from her eyes, and Jasper was shedding them too, it's a good thing that they were hugging, and their face wasn't visible to anyone.

Since they couldn't see me, and to assure them, I took a moment, trying my best to stabilize and control my emotions to speak.

"I'm not mad. It's not your fault. I was saved and am now part of a wonderful family. A family where you'll be a part soon. Thank you for trying your best for me, and I apologize, it must have been awful to see all of that. But you don't have to worry, it's the past now. I'm happy." My voice sounded emotionless, but if it was true that Alice had seen and heard me from the visions, she should understand why I sounded like this, it was weird because my tone was this, but my face had a warm smile.

The two finally looked up, after wiping the venom, the scent of burnt cloth from it was mixed in the air.

"Thank you... I wasn't able to save you, but I was able to do other things. I saw a vision of you teaching Edward about gifts evolving, so I trained, and I did my best, which resulted in my current level now. I often checked on you, everyone around you, to make sure you're ok, get clues as to where you are... we could've met you earlier, but We had to do some detours first" Alice almost growled the last part, whatever it was, it wasn't pleasant.

"AH! I know you two! I've seen you two a long time ago. You were there. They were in the place where that damned hag was. You had red eyes. Then... I..."

Hmm, that's most likely when he shifted. There seem to have been a lot that happened, things she saw and did that have something to do with me, but I can't take the suspense, let's rip the band-aid. I got their attention before they addressed Nasu.

"Robin, I don't think you should-" Jasper, with a worried look, tried to change my mind but I interjected.

Fudge, it looks bad. But, I'm not changing my mind. It might have been better if we did this in a different place, but I couldn't care less about the humans at the moment. Cruel? Fine I'm cruel, but I can't wait to hear it all now, it's my future, there could be something about my mate... I could feel a small hope form in my heart, suffocating me, it's a bit impossible... but I couldn't stop myself from still having a bit of hope.

*No. Tell me. Please. NOW*

The couple exchanged worried looks before they nodded to each other, and then looked at Nasu.

"This is going a lot for her. Please be ready to assist." Alice warned Nasu.

Nasu still looked confused and must've had a lot of questions that he wanted to ask them, but after sensing the seriousness of the situation, and since it was about me, he just nodded, his expression solemn, bracing himself.

Alice and I then locked gazes. And then she started.

"Like I said, this is going to be a lot to process and hear, I think we should move somewhere else for this..." She still tried to change my mind, but I just gave her a determined look.

Call me stubborn, stupid, or whatever, but I want to hear it, my future. My heart is about to burst from my chest.

"I understand. Please tell me to stop if it gets too much..." She sighed, conceding.

"First, We were late to meet you, because we hunted down the culprits that did all those to you. They're dead. They were going hunt you down, so we got rid of them."

My eyes widened for a second when I heard that, to be honest, I had already forgotten about them since nothing involving them happened after I was saved. But they killed for me, huh, so their eyes are still like that because of me.

"Second, we have found some things that belonged to you and your biological parents"

I'm happy about this one, I can take this and the first as good news... so far, they're good news.

Damn! I jinxed myself

"Third, I saw a future where you impregnated that human earlier, and it was bloody... many died."

Mother... Fffff... haaah... I don't even wanna hear it. I have to readjust my plans now. I don't think it would be good for me to ask too much about that future, because I might get the thought that since I know it in advance, we can avoid it. I'm not even sure if it's worth it. I don't know.

"Fourth and last... uhm.." Alice hesitated a lot like she didn't know how or didn't want to say it.

I held a corner of a table with one hand and baled the other hand into a fist so hard that I could feel my nails puncture my skin.

I heard Nasu call for me to stop it, but I ignored him. I can feel it... I need to know.

I took a deep breath without removing my gaze from Alice. I gave her a firm nod to continue.

"Rosalie, your mate... Died. She-"

The sound of a table breaking resounded in the Diner.

Good thing Nasu was fast to take away Leo.

Yes, I broke it. I couldn't breathe, I knew it was gonna someday... she was gonna die someday as a human... but she was supposed to grow old and live her dream mundane life. This was too early...

"Wait!!! WAIT!!! I wasn't finished. She's a vampire now, she got turned!!!" Alice shouted in panic.

I could feel something, or rather, someone trying to control my emotions, trying to calm me down. I see Jasper with a tortured expression, a hand on his chest where his heart was.

I let Jasper calm me, while I try to do it too. It's a lot.

I turn to Nasu whom I didn't notice was now holding me by the upper arms from behind me. I nodded for him to let go and he reluctantly did, and then I sat back down.

Breathe me... breathe... I want to scold Alice for how she told me the news, but I know she didn't mean it.

My emotions are a mess at the moment, but ultimately... I was happy I was so happy. And I feel guilty for being happy, but I can't help it.

But I have to calm down so I can ask for more details. OH, but first...

AN: Haloooo hoomans. So another update. Made it a bit long for you and also partly because I write it as I see it in my head so it gets wordy, I know.

Also, I kind of decided that the one chap a week will be uploaded on either Saturday or Sunday before those days end. Like now, I almost didn't make it, because my internet and phone are crap.
