Chapter 3 Informing The Sect Master

At the center of the Blood Sword Sect lay a valley surrounded by formations. In the middle of which a blood red lake could be found with a similarly coloured 18 petalled lotus flower resting at its heart. It could be said that this lotus flower was the core of the Blood Sword Sect, and atop it sat their Sect Master.

Sensing a disturbance within the formation, the Sect Master opened his eyes. First he felt a disturbance in the heavens and now even his formations were being disturbed. Luckily he hadn't been trying to make a breakthrough as otherwise he'd have already failed miserably.

'Now which idiot decided to barge into the Blood Lotus Valley without my permission?' He thought before his eyes widened in shock. A figure entered his eyes a young man with light red hair and red eyes appeared before him. For a second the Sect Master wasn't sure if he was hallucinating.

"This disciple greets Sect Master!" Yang Yichen respectfully bowed causing the Sect Master's jaw to drop even further. After a brief moment he collected himself and smiled, it seemed that these 2 years at least bore some fruit.

"Yichen, you haven't made an appearance for the past two years. If it was anyone else they would already have had their Core Disciple qualification stripped and been kicked out of the Sect." The Sect Master replied while stroking his beard.

"I understand."

"Not only that but your fellow disciples who used to be behind you have now all caught up to you. The Core Disciples of the Torrential Rain, 1000 Blood, and Misty Rain Sect have surpassed you already having entered for the Foundation Realm."

"I understand."

"Is that all you have to say? What's your plan? Yichen you know I've always held high hopes for you, back then no one within the Blood Rain Region was your opponent but now you've wasted 2 yea-"

"Sect Master with all due respect, they weren't wasted. I dare say the me now, has higher prospects than I've ever had before." Yang Yichen replied raising his head to lock eyes with the Sect Master. His gaze which before held an arrogant aura, now had a certain sharpness to it. And that golden mark between his brows, the Sect Master couldn't help but raise his own brows upon noticing it.

The two stood there in silence for some time, until the pieces of the puzzle clicked and the Sect Master had a realization. "Hahahaha, Yichen you are truly the hope of my Blood Sword Sect!" He laughed happily disappearing from the lotus and reappearing before Yichen.

"Hit me, I want to see how strong you are now!" The Sect Master demanded, to which Yang Yichen obliged. In an instant his blood sword appeared within his hand causing the Sect Master to raise his brows yet again. He had forgotten that Yang Yichen had reached Complete Mastery in the technique as he'd never witnessed him use it.

Taking a stance Yang Yichen circulated his Blood Churning Sutra, the cultivation technique of the Blood Sword Sect. As his Qi moved about vigorously his body began to glow red before he channeled his Qi into the Blood Sword.

"Your control over the Blood Churning Sutra and Blood Sword are truly one of a kind. Use the Bloodless Sword Art, Blood Soaked Lotus on me." The Sect Master noted, to which Yang Yichen simply nodded his head.

In an instant he sliced the air 9 times, manifesting 9 red lines which perfectly intersected with the Sect Master as the center. And then the lines bloomed. An 18 petal lotus appeared which shot towards the Sect Master crossing the short distance between them in a blink of an eye.

Seeing this the Sect Master merely waved his hand instantly dissipating the phenomena. While he could casually disperse the attack this didn't mean the old man wasn't shocked. "Your Qi, its quality is even superior to mine, and the speed at which your body moved despite channeling all your Qi into your Blood Sword is astounding." He commented before a thoughtful expression graced his face.

"I think its time you entered the Blood Lake. Before I wanted to wait for you to enter the Foundation Realm, but you're ready now." Now it was time for Yang Yichen to be surprised.

The Blood Lake was something he'd been pining for ever since he entered the Blood Sword Sect. It was the greatest treasure the Sect had to offer, and only a select few would ever get to experience it. From his knowledge besides the Sect Master, only the 5 Elders, and 12 Guardians had entered the Blood Lake.

"Heh, don't be so shocked Yichen. You and I both know it was only a matter of time until you entered. Not to mention that the Grand Sect Battle is coming up soon so you better not waste my gifts." The old man declared before tapping the young man lightly on his back.

"Understood. So when do I enter?"

"If you've memorised the Foundation Manual, then now's as good a time as any."

"Then just send me in." Yang Yichen replied, before the whole ordeal 2 years ago he'd been planning his breakthrough into the Foundation Realm so he had already completely memorised the contents.

"All right then, you better not disappoint me." The Sect Master smiled before appearing behind Yang Yichen and kicking him towards the Blood Lake. Immediately the young man was confused, he though there was a secret method of some sort, not just kicking him in, also wouldn't a bunch of the lake water splash out?

But his concerns were for naught. As his face penetrated the surface of the lake, he felt as though he was moving within sludge and his body sunk in not even creating the slightest of disturbances on the lake's surface.

"Yang Yichen this Grand Sect Battle is the Blood Sword Sect's last hope, you better not disappoint me!"
