Chapter 2 Summer Road Trip

Life after my parent's death was not perfect, but it was not horrible either. Max is helpful in my training in martial arts, First, a few months of leaving with Max was awkward as such, but soon it became easier.

Max being my parent's mentor really helped me learn from him about my parents and their mistakes, while they were also learning to use their own power.

The power I inherited from my father is easier to use, I mean it is basically passive, and also I got to know a lot of things from max about my dad and his other half of the race.

Stra race was apparently a mercenary race and a minority who was born in that race either inherited the power to counter others' power or negate an opponent's power via touch. But my father inherited both, I think he got it because he was half human and the same for me.

Because me being a quarter alien, I have a strength 5 times above my age group. I have a healing factor about 10 times faster than any normal human. And also, because me being related to the Stra species, I am also now an ageless being and will stop aging after 25. But will still feel pain exactly double the pain, and such. Although they are ageless, they can still die.

The minority who inherit one of either of the powers has a lack of pain thresholds, they feel ten times the pain than any other. And my father being the only half only feels 5 times and me being the quarter only feel double the pain than normal. Stra race who inherited the power mostly die by pain than decapitation or gunshot.

But those races were destroyed, all annihilated by the space emperor Vilgax. Apparently, my father's race sides power's main weakness is brute strength. Those power could negate or counter-power like fire damage or ice damage, but cannot the physical damage.

So, I have a weakness against people with physical strength. And when max said about Vilgax, I could hear enmity against that Vilgax guy in his tone.

Now my second power, which I inherited from my mother, was a little difficult at first because when I imagine I tend to get distracted a lot. That max helped me with it and gave me training for meditation to calm my mind. Apparently, if I am not calm, I cannot manifest the things I desire. And, when I told you before, I don't need to know how it is made, which is true only half, I still need its basic principle to manifest.

And because of my mutation with from both sides of my parents, I will not be able to have kids in the future, which is related to my power. My power mostly from the mother's side is related to the creation, and it mutated with my body, so I will not be able to have kids in the future.

Apparently, my mother also had this side effect but her was a little minimum, and she was 50-50, So the reason for my birth, but because of the further mutation, I have 100%.

I don't know how to react to it, seeing I am only 10 years old and don't know the concept of childbirth.

One year has passed since then, now I am 10 years old. In this 1 year, I have learned many things from Grandpa max. yes, after 4 months or so I started calling him, grandpa. It just felt natural, he has this charm about him that can make anyone lose their defense against him.

He is good at everything, but then in some, he is not. Like making food, Yack. Absolutely horrible. Since that day I tasted his food, we, or mostly me, eat outside or eat at Ben or Gwen's place.

Yeah, in that 1 year I met with Ben and Gwen, my apparent 'Adopted' Cousin, they are both good, I think. Ben is the wild nerd type and Gwen is the Book nerd type.

When we both, go to Ben's place, I always play sumo Slammers with Ben. Our conversation starts with, "What's up? Ben"

"All cool, dude. Hey, wanna play Sumo Slammers With me"

"Ah, Sure"

"Cool! Come in"

And if we are at Gwen's place, Gwen and I read books, me mostly fantasy and her mostly schoolbooks. Reading helps me keep calm, apparently. Our conversation starts with "...Ah, do you have a book on Fantasy or Fiction?"

"Ya, I have one, do you want to read it or just see the picture like that idiot Ben?" Said Gwen while still reading her book.

{"*Achoo* Who is talking about me? Anyway, focus on the Sumo match," said Ben from the other side of the city.}

"Don't worry, I needed it to read," said I.

Also, Ben's and Gwen's parents also accepted me into their family and every time we got here, their parents reprimand Grandpa max to send me to the school instead of the home school.

Yeah, I am a home-school brat type, I already discussed with Grandpa max that till middle school I want to be home school, and further, let's talk about that in the future.

Again, life was going, as usual, I sometimes miss my parents, but I know they don't want me to be always sad about it. The day was like any other until grandpa max said something.

"Ryan, what do you think about a road trip? With me, Ben, Gwen, and you" asked Grandpa Max with his goofy smile.

"Ah, can I say no?" I asked.

"Of course not! Let's have a great summer road trip," Grandpa max proclaimed and begin to pack the needed for the road trip.

'Knowing grandpa max, he will not pack anything a normal human can eat, so I need to bring some normal food for others.'

'Hope this trip, brings the fun. I am getting bored just sitting here.'

And later, who knew this trip could bring so much fun alongside the danger as well.
