Chapter Twelve

Because of his sudden change of expression Anna was momentarily dazed.

"Lets go Little sis" Su Chen said as he carried her in his arms, Anna wanted to complain but he soon cut her off

"Would you prefer to jump out?" he joked.

"Nope" Anna said as she wrapped her hands around his neck.

Meanwhile a certain someone was staring daggers at his brother, Li Chen felt their actions were too intimate, and he hated the way Anna smiled at Su Chen, she had never smiled at him like that before.

"Ahh!, what am I thinking?" He ran his fingers through his hair frustrated

His voice was low but Dylan heard him, a slight smile appeared on his face as he got ready to tease his friend.

"Do you like Anna?" He whispered into his ear.

Dylan had never seen Li Chen look at a woman the way he looked at Anna, it got him a bit excited, Li Chen hardly showed interest in anything.

Li Chen got startled by his sudden question and quickly denied

"No...No!, Never!"

Li Chen said nervously as he quickened his pace to catch up with his brother and Anna who had already gone quite a distance.

Dylan chuckled and followed behind him, the thought of Anna and Li Chen together stirred a feeling in his that he didn't understand but he brushed it off.

It didn't take long for Anna to spot the huge building ahead, it was a 15 story building!

Anna saw the crowd of guys coming closer to them, they were at least up to 50 guys walking towards them and in front were five to six women.

"Dylan!" a man with blond hair a bit darker than Su Chen's called as he ran towards Dylan.

Dylan stared at the man with an indifferent expression while the man's eyes were shining like he had just met his idol.

"The base was so miserable without you Dylan'' Mason said sounding as miserable as a woman left by her man.

Su Chen faked a cough as he stared at the man "Are you sure Mason?, I am sure you were busy enjoying your seven days without training" Su Chen teased, the others who were busy brown using Dylan shifted in their feet awkwardly, the wouldn't admit that they enjoyed the past few days.

Mason laughed nervously and looked and Dylan "Dylan, my brother, that's not true, believe me I have been training diligently"

"Hmm" Dylan nodded and walked towards Anna, his frosty expression soon wore off as he squatted down in front off her

"Familiarize yourself with everyone, if you have any questions come to me directly ok?"

Anna almost choked, she couldn't keep up with how fast her heart was beating at his close proximity.

Mason and the large crowd that has come to greet all stared at the scene with widened eyes.

"Err...Su Chen?, did Dylan just speak softly?"

Su Chen who was already used to seeing Dylan like this nodded.

Anna nodded lightly trying to calm her erratic heart. His eyes were staring directly into hers, it made her body react in ways it had never reacted before. Dylan got up and turned around to scan the crowd behind him

"This is Anna, she will be joining our family starting today so, I hope you guys treat her the same way you treat each other"

Majority of them nodded while some looked at Anna with disdain.

This didn't escape Dylan's notice, he knew it would take them sometime to get used to her. The people at Base were strong and even from when he was in training till now that he was the trainer, the string always preyed on the weak here. Dylan silently hoped Anna would be strong enough to overcome what was to come. He stared at a brown haired girl with glasses, the second they made eye contact she knew immediately what he needed from her.

"Chesa, I will leave Anna in your care" Dylan says loud enough for everyone to hear, he was making a statement.

She looked like she was in her mid twenties, she had cute little dimples when she smiled.

"Come on Anna, lets go" her voice was a bit high pitched, making her seem cute.

"I will see you later Anna" Dylan said like a father sending his daughter off to college.

"Ok.." Anna said softly, he patted her shoulder before walking away.

That little action gained gasps from almost everyone.

"D...did brother Bai just touch her willingly?"

one of the girls in red said in shock, Su Chen was satisfied with their reactions, this proves he wasn't overreacting before.

"Wow!" the young girl in a blue dress spoke up, she didn't hide the look of disdain in her eyes "I guess Dyl pities her that's why, I mean....look at her, a girl on a wheel chair coming to train at the Duan base, he probably knows she won't last very long, I hope she doesn't think she has actually seduced him!"

"Efya! " Li Chen said loudly, he felt so angry just listening to her words. He looked at Anna's direction worried that Efya's words might have hurt her.

Anna expression didn't change one bit, she raised her head and stared at Efya

"How can you be so sure that I won't last long here?....or are you scared of me?" Anna said not waiting for an answer before wheeling past Efya.

Chesa who was still in a daze soon followed behind. "You actually talked back!, aren't you scared she won't like you I mean....Efya can be really cruel sometimes"

Anna who was now behind Chesa smiled lightly, of course she already noticed that none of them liked her so, making an enemy on the first day was inevitable although she felt a bit down that they didn't like her.

"I don't think they like me, so it doesn't matter" Anna said, at least it was better than staying in that mansion with those people who call themselves her family. They would be her loving family outside of that dreadful house but once they were inside they were her worst nightmares.

Thinking of them reminded her of the most important thing she wanted to do

which was finding her birth mom.

Chesa looked at the girl and her lips curled up "You.....I think we are going to be good friends"

They soon arrived at the girls' dorm room, since they were only five the girls all stayed in this room.

It was pretty spacious for 5 people, Anna felt like it was as big as the living room at the Lu mansion.

"Its huge!" Anna couldn't help but say. There were five beds in the room but the room was spacious and designed in a way that each person had their space to do whatever they wanted.

Chesa nodded "It is right?, that is one of the advantages we girls get"

Chesa said as she pushed Anna to the end of the room, setting her next to the bunk bed.

"All of the rooms in base are like this but, at least 10boys stay in each room, but as for us, we are only six here. It is really nice"

Anna smiled at her, she was so cheerful but if you looked closely you could see that there was hidden sorrow behind those eyes.

"Thank you Miss Chesa"

"Wah.....please don't call me miss, I will feel old. I am just 25" Chesa exclaimed as she sat on the bed closer to Anna

"Why don't you call me sis Chesa?, that's what everyone calls me"

Anna nodded "Okay...sis Chesa"

A bright smile was on both their faces as they were enjoying each other's company.

Anna was feeling glad, she had just made a friend…a friend that she was sure would be a good one in the future, she didn't look at her the way everyone had been coming across looked at her.

She didn't see pity in Chesa's eyes, she wasn't the cripple in her eyes.

Anna smiled "I have a feeling we're going to be great friends as well…"

Chesa laughs, her dimples showing making Anna wish she had dimples as well.

"So where'd you come from?...you look Asian but you have an English name"

"My father is Chinese…my mom as well but my father gave both I and my sisters English names though" Anna replies but couldn't help but wonder…was her birth mom also Chinese?

"So…if you don't mind me asking…I'm sorry I'm a very nosy person…" Chesa scratches the back of her head

"How…how did you end up on the wheelchair?"

Anna's back stiffened, it was a very straightforward question…she wanted to hide away from it like she usually did, keep to herself and not relive that terrible day but…

"There was an accident…"

…she was different now.

"The driver wasn't fast enough so the car ended up falling in a ditch…the doctors…they couldn't fix my legs"

Chesa sighs, she puts a hand on Anna's shoulder, giving her comfort.

"At…At least you didn't lose your toes"

Anna raised her head to look at Chesa, they both stared at each other for a few seconds before bursting into fits of laughter.
