Angel of Night

Ethan hates the heroism cover. Silver Field Academy is nothing but a scam, the school only accepts reincarnated heroes, but all of the heroes here are hypocrites. He was challenged to a battle by Hadrian, the reincarnation of the first star of Nox, also known as the Bloody Tyrant because of his ability. He hoped that the fight would not disappoint him. Well, he wasn't able to fight Hadrian and he was kidnapped instead. But it's fine though, as long as nothing happens. But peace was never an option for him. The past he doesn't remember is catching up to him and his once peaceful life is getting taken away. At least Hadrian will comfort him... And maybe Emily, too.

Chapter 20

At Silver Field Academy...

They had already defeated the army, and everyone of them was tired. They've been up since midnight and have been fighting for about three hours.

But they still had the energy to cheer for their victory. How could they not? The army of the Dark Realm has been defeated, and none of them is dead.

Malekith flew down, and he looked at Taegen in worry. "There's something wrong," he said.

Taegen nods in reply. "This is a bit too easy," he said.

Several powerful auras were felt all of a sudden, and Malekith flew up in the air. The students murmured in frustration and fear. Taegen began to chant the poems of nature. There's a large attack coming. "Everyone step back!" Taegen shouted. Then a 50-foot wave of bright blue fire came their way.

Taegen takes out a piece of paper with a symbol on it and activates his ability. The symbol was a triangle and a straight line drawn together. He throws the paper to the front of the battle field, and a giant force field is created, surrounding everyone in front of the academy and ultimately blocking the attack.

Those closest to the shield immediately felt the heat of the fire. He sees three people coming forward: one vampire, one dark elf, and one demon. Behind them were six people, ranging in age from fifteen to twenty years old. They were all waiting lifelessly for instructions.

They looked at everyone there, but they didn't see who they were searching for. "He truly isn't here," the dark elf in the group said. He has short black hair. His eyes were covered by a piece of red cloth. This indicated that he was blind; his skin was sickeningly pale, and his blueish-green veins showed underneath his skin.

The vampire on the team is a male. He, too, has black hair. His eyes were dark purple, and he is incredibly handsome. He looks quite indifferent to what is going on. "I hope Mikaela isn't in trouble," he said.

And finally, the demon on the team. He has gray, thick, wrinkly skin with goat hooves and wings on his back. His eyes were red, and he is completely bald with a pair of thick horns on his head. He is a rage demon. A higher-ranking demon than the other that the others were fighting. "But the one the Master says to kill is standing in plain sight," he said, pointing at Taegen, who was looking at them calmly.

Malekith attacks them from above using his ability, which he calls 'Light Magic,' reinforced with the blessing from the God of Light.

Unfortunately, none of these attacks were able to reach them; one of the people had activated his ability. A giant golden shield covers them, and everyone recognizes the pattern on the shield.

"That is the symbol for the Ninth Star of Nox," Jasper said, his eyes widening in shock.

When the shield got down. The rage demon goes to attack Malekith almost immediately. Punching him straight into the forcefield created around the academy. The forcefield cracks a bit, but it is quickly repaired.

"Thyman is always in a hurry," the vampire said disapprovingly before nodding to the people behind him.

Wings appeared on two of their backs. One of them had a pair of black wings, and the other had a pair of wings flapping very fast. One of the two humans began to float, and they all flew into the air to fight those in the air.

The elf on that team raised his hand and fired another large blast of fire at the shield.

'We are fighting the reincarnation of the Stars of Nox,' Taegen thought, holding the shield. If he lets the shield down, then it is most likely that they will all be burned to a crisp.

But if the shield stays up for too long, they will be cooked slowly, like meat in an oven.

----------------------------------

Ethan managed to convince the math teacher to let him sleep. Although he didn't feel sleepy for long. There was a powerful and aggressive dark aura coming from somewhere in the school. Ethan stood up almost immediately, and Emily did so as well.

Ethan also felt Hadrian's aura. It was almost equally aggressive. That was when he ran out of the class with Emily right behind him.

They both didn't stop when they were called back.

"You felt that too?" Emily said, catching up to Ethan.

"I'm sure everyone felt that," Ethan replies. "Weapon," he said to Emily as they got to Hadrian's class.

Emily creates a spear for Ethan since that is his favorite weapon.

When they got to Hadrian's class, they saw that Hadrian was being held up by a man who looked like he was middle-aged. He looked like Hadrian, except older.

Ethan didn't wait a moment. 'First Rank: Gravity.'

He throws the spear as he activates his ability, piercing through the man. The weight and speed of the spear threw the man out of the classroom, breaking the brick wall.

Ethan ran to Hadrian, who was dropped to the ground, while Emil tried to calm the panicked people in the classroom.

"Are you alright?" Ethan asked in a worried voice.

"I'm fine," Hadrian said, standing up. Ethan could tell he wasn't fine. His eyes were cold and lifeless, and his voice was as cold as the first time they met. So he asked, "Do you know who that is?"

"My daddy dearest," Hadrian replies.

Ethan was surprised. The man jumped forward with the spear in his hand. Emily summons a weapon. A large energy blaster. A huge blast of energy was shot out of it. Hit the man, leaving a hole in his stomach.

The man didn't fall dead, and he didn't look like he was in pain either. The hole closes up like it was never there, and Emily frowns.

She was about to shoot again, but she floats in the air; her neck, arms, and legs are twisting the wrong way. It was painful. 'Just let me out,' she could hear the voice in her head say.

Just before Ethan was attacked. The man stops him. "I have come to deliver a message from the Master," he said.

He released Emily, who dropped to the ground, coughing as she gasped for air.

He gives Ethan a crystal ball and leaves almost immediately, only sparing Hadrian a little glance as he leaves.

Ethan activated the crystal ball, and he sees the situation happening in Silver Field. There were several people injured while fighting desperately for their lives. But that's not what caught his eye. It was Taegen fighting two people. One is a vampire, and the other is a dark elf. There was a piece of paper on his forehead. There was a symbol of a 45-degree angle facing upward on the paper.

He was putting effort into this battle and fighting for his life. The vampire was hitting him with lightning, while the dark elf was fighting him with no abilities whatsoever, but the attacks were powerful.

Ethan's aura had darkened, and although he wasn't there, he could tell that those two were incredibly powerful. Like they were trying to kill him.

He was about to teleport there when Emily touched his shoulder while holding Hadrian before they all disappeared from the classroom.

In the sea behind Silver Field...

Aquamarine was confused at first as to why they were assigned to protect the school from the sea. But she understood when some demons entered the ocean. 'How is that even possible?' she thought.

Fortunately, killing these demons wasn't a difficult task.

She wasn't tired, despite fighting for three hours. This isn't her first battle in the water, and she doubts this will be her last.

Delphine communicates by clicking, and Aquamarine smiles at her and replies with a click.

They felt like they were pulled by the water above them as they all rose to a wave of water.

This made Aquamarine panic. "What is going on?" she clicks at her aunt.

But she couldn't get a response because the giant wave soon fell on top of the force field.

Aquamarine coughs at the sudden introduction of air. She sits up, and from a distance, she sees a girl about fifteen years old standing on top of the water. She has golden wavy hair and golden eyes, as well as golden scales on her face.

She lifts a large amount of water from the sea, and a high-pressure blast of water is aimed at everyone on top of the dome.

Delphine thought quickly and raised her hand to block the water blast.

Her hands bled as she did this because of the amount of pressure, and Aquamarine blinks in surprise. 'Who is it that can make Aunty bleed? She thought in horror as she stood up. She raised her hand and her weapon, a spear, transformed her tail into legs, and jumped back into the sea. Her legs turned back to a tail, and she swam to the enemy.

"Aquamarine!" she heard her aunt scream her name as she did so.

She is probably going to die foolishly.
