Exploring the new world

It took a few minutes for Ian to get out of his dazed state. It was not beneficial to waste time and adapt to his new identity and the new world as fast as possible. What intrigued Ian was if this world had a concept of magic or not. After all, everything was possible in this new world.

She left the room and found a maid walking near the halls. "I want to go outside," she informed the maid with her voice filled with confidence. The maid looked at her, "I understand, my lady. Please wait a few minutes near the entrance while I inform the coachman about your departure," she said. "Alright, please let him know I need to depart quickly," she reinforced. "Understood," she replied before leaving the hall.

As instructed, she made her way toward the entrance of the mansion. While she was about to leave, a voice called her. "Are you feeling okay now?"

It was a male voice. She turned to the source and noticed a young man standing near the staircase to the second floor.

"I am feeling alright, thank you for asking," she replied confidently. She had no idea who he was. He looked too young to be her father. Brother perhaps? she blurted out the most reasonable reply one could give to his question.

He stared silently at her reply, not saying a word but staring intently. It was as if something unexpected had happened. Of course, her response would make sense if their relationship was good, but what if it was not? Ian's calculating brain forgot about this little detail.

Iana didn't look back at the man and left the mansion. Outside stood a big carriage with magnificent white horses tied to it. Horses, yeah, horses. Normal, regular horses. Surely, right?

Ian thought so before he got his first culture shock, or rather, an otherworld shock. The horses raised their wings. It was a pegasus! The carriage looked odd too. It had mysterious equipment attached to it. Something that resembled technologically advanced machines.

She managed to keep a poker face, not revealing the hint of any shock on her face. Iana instructed the coachman to take her to the closest city or town possible as she boarded the carriage.

The pegasus didn't directly start flying. They stepped back before rapidly running in one direction and slowly took off into the air. The experience was similar to an airplane. The carriage doors were shut tightly, but there was no locking mechanism.

She looked out through the carriage and witnessed a sight that was to behold. Green pastures run across the entire land—beautiful clear blue lakes, with various types of birds flying in the air.

A few minutes into the journey, she could witness a city. The city had a palace situated right in the heart of the town. "Is this the capital city of this kingdom?" she thought as she admired the vast elegant structure from afar.

They did not take long to reach the landing port for carriages. Iana exited the carriage, wanting to take a quick breather before proceeding.

The entrance to the city was through a big magnificent gate heavily guarded by soldiers. The guards noticed her as soon as she got close to the door. "Lady Iana, what brings you here today," one asked. He had a well-built body that she could feel even though his armor covered it. "

"I am here to take a stroll," she replied. Iana had to tread cautiously while conversing with a soldier. She had not yet known what influence she had over this world.

"Would you like to spar as usual?" he asked with excitement in his eyes. This drew the attention of other soldiers who overheard their conversation. A hint of excitement could be seen on their faces.

Ian didn't know the basics of fighting, let alone fighting. Unless Iana's muscle memory helps him again, he wonders what would happen if he tried fighting someone. Their expressions suggested that Iana was skilled in sparring, which allowed them to earn a lot.

"Later today, let us spar," she replied confidently. "Could I enter now?" she asked.

The guards immediately agreed to her question and let her in. One of the guards in the back was not satisfied. He had jet-black hair and citrine eyes with a bulked-up body. "Those eyes lack the sharp gaze she usually has," he softly said.

While Ian could fake her personality by assuming a few things, simulating behaviors with no information is almost impossible. The soldier knew something was wrong with her, but he had no proof. She looked and sounded the same, but something about her behavioral pattern had changed. "Iana Rosmond, what happened to you in such a short time…?" he thought as he stared at the sky.
