Chapter 28

Beth's POV

"It was my sister."

My mind went blank for a second, and I couldn't think.

When I was in Joe's pack, I often heard the werewolves who beat me talk about Ally's sister, the poor she-wolf.

They said she fell victim to an attack organised by a group of cruel rogues who took her away, never to be heard from again.

No one knew where they took her or even whether she was still alive or hit.

So hearing Ally’s answer made me regret asking her about it. And I cursed myself for being curious.

Her words revived the images of werewolves being slaughtered and attacked in my head, the images were so vivid that I could even smell the blood.

Such an imagination and memory made me sick and I held my head in pain trying to forget it. I couldn’t look Ally in the eyes again as scenes of werewolf coroners motionlessly lying on the ground evaded my mind all the more.
