Alabaster's memoir

In a world of magic, torn by an ongoing mass war, powered by weapons and artifacts never seen before. Isolated along the barren borders of a mighty empire lives a man with skin of alabaster. Alone, he would hunt the numerous monsters and other mutant abominations that plagued the otherwise abandoned edge of the empire of course, for a decent price. He lives a secluded life. A simple life .With a steady, consistent routine, little did he know that laying next to the singular glaciated river that passed through the frozen permafrost covered fiord lay a surprise . A surprise that arrived abruptly just as the fierce storm that brought it .A surprise that would shatter his peacefully isolated way of life almost as fast as it had arrived. Laying in layers of blankets and rags, an infant boy with hair, the colour of the sun, and eyes of Sapphire. Wrapped around the boy was an amulet of gold, bearing an emblem belonging to a nation, a far away nation beyond the lands of the empire. Through the lands of countless enemies and monsters infested plains past seas that were considered uncrossable … on a good day, all whilst guarding his newfound responsibility. Using old allies, forgotten friends, past foes, and debtors alike, the man ventured into the vast void with one underlying question. Will the man with skin of alabaster succeed in reuniting the boy with his family? Or will his efforts lead to a foolish end as he dies trying.

ANNOYING MF.

Chapter Six: ANNOYING MF.

"Damn, this is infuriating," said the man scornfully with an expression full of burning rage.

The man's blood began to boil as he clenched the washed-out red leather book in his hands. clamping then so tightly on the books leather cover, as though he wished to crush it under his calloused hands.

He hoped from the very bottom of his still-beating heart, to watch it crumble to pieces.

Seeping his deathly macabre aura in his mindless rage towards the insulting cover.

His brash emotional detesting of the book was cut short, by the sound of high-pitched wailing.

The sunny boy had woken from his peaceful slumber, troubled by the man's strong malignant mana.

The man rested his case. He tended to the tearful child that was still alarmed by the man's terrifying aura.

The man paced around his small living room whilst cradling the child in his arms.

This laborious rocking lasted at least an hour! Before, the boy was finally soothed into a calm state of rest.

But, the man showed no signs of discomfort, nor did he find the boy's deafening screams detestable.

Rather, he had grown attached to the boy.

Though he cautioned himself, with how far he would take his affection. For, of course, he intended to return the boy to his family.

The man spoke in a deep, soothing, soft tone.

He spoke to the boy, with calm, tender words as the boy's heavy eyes shut.

The sunny boy had finally drifted off back into the world of dreams.

After, once again laying the boy ever so carefully into his grand castle-like fortress of cushions and blankets.

The man once again took up the red book from the tail of his bed.

Being sure to be more benevolent towards it, in an attempt to not wake the boy with his hefty aura.

The man had already wished to abort this most troublesome task. But, he knew that it was the inevitable choice he was obliged to make.

Given that he chose to take in, the now mumbling blob of shits and giggles.

" Ha, when will this torture end?"

The machiavellian... No, that word is too formal for a foul guy like him. Pervert suits him much better.

The perverted wizard that wrote this insulting book was very interested in the man of alabaster. So much so, that his fascination with the man had become an ugly, festering obsession.

An obsession that made the alabaster man visibly gag, just remembering the wizards ugly, coy smug.

The man didn't hate magic. No, rather he hated the perverted person who shamelessly begged to have him learn it.

Unfortunately for the man, the only books on magic he had. Were forcefully bestowed on him by that very weirdo.

But, he didn't wish to continue dwelling on the topic. It would only have him cringe more, to the point where he'd wish to dissolve into dust.

All that matters is, that this perverted man's tall praise of himself isn't as outlandish as it may seem.

The perverse wizard was, in fact, a prodigy of all prodigious mages at the time the alabaster man knew him.

And has only gotten more relevant since. Making him indeed by the empires standard.

The strongest wizard.

The man hastily opened the book to its first page

.

.

to find...

More insulting words.

[ WHAT! the ghost man is actually!! reading about magic...

It's the end!

.

Who forced you, huh?

.

Finally, hit a new low. Have you?

.

Ran out of aliases, Mr Nameless?

(If so, I recommend your next one to be Alabaster matched your pasty white skin.)

.

Is your fancy 'only swords can help me' (smoulder face) faze over?

.

WAIT, ARE YOU STARTING TO MISS ME??????

Man, I wish I could see your cringing face once again.

just thinking of you has me c]

The alabaster man quickly skipped ten pages ahead, skimming past the numerous pages of insults towards him and...

.

Very odd praises.

To what appeared to be a page of actual knowledge.

The man let out a loud sigh of relief as he looked at the contents of the true first page of this book.

The man then read the not-as-insulting page on the basics of magic.

[ LESSON ONE: MAGIC VS MANA FOR A NOOB DUMMY SWORDSMAN.

Now Mr, hot shot.

I know you're great with the sword and all that fancy sh*t but if you read this book, you're a noob get it!!]

The man had only read the first few vulgar lines. But, he already wished to once again attempt to burn this horrid book.

Though it was in technicality true, he was a beginner essentially a 'noob' when it came to magic.

The man grudgingly continued

[ Magic is different from your barbarian sword's mana, aura, whatever it's called.

Magic is unlike your BARBARIK aura mana, whatever. Magic requires a great amount of control over mana.

Not, like your density strength aura or whatever you call it.

The larger your mana, the harder it is to control.

This means you Mr, thick Skull are gonna have some issues. But that also leads to the next little fact.

The stronger the mana, the stronger the magic.

And, YOU, my intellectually lacking brute would make quite the devious wizard because of this.

Also, given your mixed physique and regeneration, you would be quite the force.

NOW!!! let me explain mana to you from a magical perspective.

Mana, as we all know, unless you are a dumb IDOIT. Makes up everything. As a magic user, you must wish to manipulate it, controlling its form and qualities.

NOT COLLECTED IT INTO AURA OR WHATEVER AND DESTROY KINDA CRAP!

Magic is an art of finely carved, controlled, contained mana, like your bulky bo]

"This perverse mage is going to have me boiled before I finish the first page." said the man as he skipped ahead a few paragraphs, avoiding the...

compliments?

[ And of course, every living being (that is not fully a monster; cuz they have cores and crap.) Has their own way of refining mana. Like your crimson fiery mana

or

MY!!! GLORIOUS! MAJESTIC! BEAUTIFUL! SUPERIOR! GOLDEN! BRIGHT! POWERFUL! mana, and we know this varying way of refining mana as mana signatures.

Your swordsmanship thing uses mana signatures for aura colours or something.

But US SUPERIOR, magicians use it in a more refined way. It outlines our affinities with elements and laws.

EleMENts?!?!? LaWS?!?!? BuT, Im JUsT A DuMb SwORdSMaN WhO KnOWs NoThINg?!?!

HoW Am I MeNt tO kNoW ThAt?

I know, I know, my dear deranged compatriot. you're uninformed, and I will blame you, but I'll explain anyway!]

...

The man stopped reading.

"... I do not sound like that, and I know for certain I am not deranged or barbaric within my behaviours, for a wizard he is the most like barbarian of any person that has walked these lands."

The man complained as the constant insults were now beginning to unnerve him.

Yet, he once again hesitantly continued.

[ Elements and Laws are rather simple. I'm sure even a swordsman's pea brain can understand it.

Elements are categories of magic. See here.

1. the BEST element MY element is light.

.

2. darkness.

.

3. earth.

.

4. fire

.

5. water

.

6. wind

These can be mixed and matched in various spells, and anyone can use all kinds.

But, they will be better or have a stronger affinity with at least one.

Laws are a bit more confusing

You got: space, gravity, beast bloodline, bloodlines, species related, literally everything blah blah blah.

It's so vast that I've left a separate book for you containing some that may be useful to you.

But unlike elements, you can't just use any whenever wherever.

These are hard to learn. one must have a natural aptitude for it.

LIKE ME!

and you.

BUT, you just keep saying 'I DonT neEd iT iM JuSt FinE WItH SWORDSMANShIP.'

Do you know how valuable you are?

I mean, you have such a rare aura and bloodline. Why don't you just use it for magic!!!!!

BuT Im A... blah! blah! blah!

You're coreless like a normal human! but can regenerate!

you're built to try magic without consequences!

That's why I'm telling you to learn some laws

for FUC]

The man wasn't interested in his rambling and skipped through the other pages looking for anything barrier related.

As he searched the thick book, he heard the rustling of many blankets.

The boy had now woken from his nap and had sat up.

The boy's hair stood on its ends, making a tepee-like structure as he made a bewildered gaze at the man.

The man lifted the child resting him on his knee.

Then he found it.

[ BASIC BARRIERS FOR BLOCK HEADS.

I contemplated adding this, but even that dumb sh*t may need it.]

"This annoying mother fu....."

The boy looked at the man with a look of confusion.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm trying to be a responsible carer here."
