First love

It was past midnight when Jennie woke up and reached for the notebooks below her bed. Jennie quickly glanced at the bare back of her wife sleeping on her stomach beside her and looked at the book, she switched on her bedside lamp and started with the front page. She feels a little guilty about doing it without Roseanne's concern but the thought of their marriage hanging in a loose thread made her heart pick up the speed and washed off that guilt.

My Sunshine

March, 2013

Roseanne was walking so fast. No, she is basically running to her lecture hall, It's her first day in high school and she is already late, five minutes before her class for art history's door shuts close.

Roseanne's heart was pounding as she hurried through the crowded hallways of her new high school. With each step, she felt the weight of her backpack pulling her back, but she couldn't afford to slow down. Her first class was in just a few minutes, and she couldn't be late on her very first day.

As she turned a corner, Roseanne suddenly collided with someone, and her books flew out of her hands, scattering across the floor. She cursed under her breath, feeling a surge of embarrassment wash over her. Why did she have to be so clumsy at the worst possible moment?

"I'm so sorry," a gentle voice said, and Roseanne looked up to see a girl with warm, kind eyes offering her a reassuring smile, Roseanne's heart skipped a beat at the mesmerizing beauty. The girl had already knelt down and started gathering Roseanne's books. "Here, let me help you with that."

"Tha- Thank you," Roseanne stammered, flustered, as she bent down to help too. "I'm Roseanne, by the way."

The girl grinned. "I'm Jisoo. Nice to meet you, Roseanne."

As they picked up the last of the scattered books, Roseanne couldn't help but notice the artistic sketches peeking out from some of the pages. "Oh, do you like drawing?" she asked, that words came out without her knowledge and she is genuinely intrigued.

Jisoo blushed, a hint of shyness in her eyes. "Yeah, I do. I love art, actually."

"Wow, that's amazing," Roseanne said with admiration. "I wish I could draw like that. I'm more into literature and writing."

Jisoo's eyes lit up. "Really? That's so cool! Maybe we could help each other out sometime. I could teach you some drawing techniques, and you could help me with my writing."

Roseanne's heart skipped a beat at the idea of spending more time with Jisoo, getting to know her better. "I'd love that," she said, smiling brightly.

Roseanne was about to say something when the bell ranged and Jisoo hurried with a quick wave left Roseanne. Roseanne stood there waving Jisoo's retreating figure and she suddenly realised that she have class too and turned around her heels before started running.

Later that day during lunch, Roseanne sat with her friends at the cafeteria near the window, her heart raced when she saw Jisoo enter the room. Jisoo's eyes found Roseanne, and she smiled warmly before waving at her. The simple gesture made Roseanne's cheeks flush, and she couldn't help but return the wave with a shy smile.

Yeri, who had been observing Roseanne's reaction, couldn't resist teasing her friend. "Oh, Roseanne, who's that? Your face is turning as red as a tomato!"

Roseanne fidgeted with her spoon, trying to play it cool. "She's... uh, Jisoo. I bumped into her a while back. She's really nice."

Yeri grinned mischievously. "Oh, really? Well, she seems to be interested in you. Want me to call her over so you can introduce us?"

Before Roseanne could protest, Yeri stood up and waved at Jisoo, motioning for her to come over. Roseanne's heart pounded in her chest, half-excited and half-nervous about the impending encounter.

Jisoo approached their table, a warm smile on her face. "Hi, is it okay if I join you guys?"

Yeri gestured to the empty seat next to Roseanne. "Of course! We're Roseanne's friends, and she told us about bumping into you earlier."

Roseanne's face turned an even deeper shade of red, and she looked at Yeri with an imploring expression, silently begging her to stop teasing. But Yeri was enjoying this too much and decided to play cupid.

"Roseanne, why don't you introduce Jisoo properly to us?" Yeri said with a sly grin.

Feeling a mix of embarrassment and gratitude, Roseanne managed to find her words. "Everyone, this is Jisoo. We met a while ago."

Her friends greeted Jisoo with friendly smiles, and the conversation flowed naturally. Jisoo's easygoing and warm nature quickly made her a hit among Roseanne's friends. As they chatted, Roseanne noticed how effortlessly Jisoo fit in with her group, and she felt a sense of comfort knowing that her friends liked her new acquaintance.

As the cafeteria session continued, Jisoo and Roseanne found themselves lost in their own world, laughing at each other's jokes and finishing each other's sentences. Yeri exchanged knowing glances with the other friends, silently acknowledging the connection between the two.

After they finished eating, Jisoo's eyes sparkled mischievously as she suggested, "Hey, why don't we all hang out sometime? It would be fun to do something together."

Yeri instantly approved of the idea, and the rest of the friends eagerly agreed. They made plans to meet up for a movie night later in the week. Roseanne's heart swelled with happiness, grateful for the way things were unfolding.

As the group parted ways, Roseanne and Jisoo found themselves walking side by side. There was a hint of nervousness in both of them, but it was clear that they were excited about the prospect of spending more time together.

"I hope you didn't mind me joining your friends," Jisoo said softly, a slight blush on her cheeks.

Roseanne shook her head with a hint of blush, a warm smile gracing her lips. "No, not at all. I'm glad you met them"

Jisoo's eyes sparkled with joy, and she reached for Roseanne's hand, intertwining their fingers as they walked out the cafeteria.

After a month of hanging out, one day Jisoo sat perched on the bleachers, her notepad resting on her lap as her pencil moved gracefully across the paper. The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm and golden glow over the scene before her. She was lost in her world of lines and shadows, completely engrossed in bringing her imagination to life.

Unbeknownst to Jisoo, Roseanne had quietly made her way up the bleachers, a playful glint in her eyes. She had noticed Jisoo from a distance, captivated by the way her pencil danced across the paper. An impish grin tugged at Roseanne's lips as an idea formed in her mind.

Silently, Roseanne slid into the seat beside Jisoo, her arm brushing against Jisoo's as she settled in. The unexpected touch startled Jisoo, causing her pencil to slip across the paper and leaving an unintended mark on her drawing. Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked at the errant stroke, her heart sinking at the sight.

"Oh no," Jisoo whispered under her breath, her voice tinged with a mix of disappointment and frustration. She had been so lost in her work that she hadn't noticed Roseanne's arrival, and now her drawing was marred by an unintended mark.

Startled by Jisoo's reaction, Roseanne's playful expression turned into one of concern. "I'm so sorry, Jisoo. I didn't mean to startle you or mess up your drawing."

Jisoo turned to look at Roseanne, her expression a mixture of surprise and relief. "Roseanne? I didn't even hear you come in."

Roseanne gave a sheepish smile. "I guess I'm more ninja-like than I thought."

Jisoo chuckled softly, her disappointment fading as she realized the situation wasn't as dire as she initially thought. "It's okay, really. I was so into this drawing that I probably would have jumped no matter who was sitting next to me."

Curiosity piqued, Roseanne leaned over to get a better look at Jisoo's drawing. The sketch depicted a serene landscape, with rolling hills and a tranquil pond reflecting the hues of the setting sun. Roseanne was amazed by the level of detail and emotion Jisoo had captured in her art.

"It's beautiful, Jisoo," Roseanne said, genuine admiration in her voice.

Jisoo blushed, a mixture of pride and bashfulness coloring her cheeks. "Thank you, Roseanne. I've been working on this for a while."

"I'm sorry I messed it up," Roseanne said, genuine regret in her tone. "Is there anything I can do to fix it?"

Jisoo looked at the mark and then back at Roseanne. An idea sparked in her mind. "Actually, I have an idea. Do you trust me?"

Roseanne raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Jisoo's proposal. "Of course, I trust you."

With a mischievous glint in her eyes, Jisoo handed Roseanne a spare pencil. "Hold this."

Curiosity piqued, Roseanne took the pencil, watching as Jisoo delicately sketched around the unintended mark, turning it into a part of the drawing. With a few strokes, the mark transformed into a new element of the landscape, seamlessly integrated into the scene.

"There," Jisoo said, stepping back to admire her work. "Now it's like it was meant to be there all along."

Roseanne's eyes widened in amazement. "Wow, you're incredible, Jisoo."

Jisoo shrugged with a modest smile. "Just a little creative problem-solving."

As they shared a laugh, Roseanne realized that even in the midst of what could have been a small mishap, Jisoo's artistic spirit and ingenuity had turned it into a memorable moment. It was a reminder that life was full of unexpected twists, but with the right perspective, even the bumps in the road could become part of a beautiful journey.

And so, as the sun dipped below the horizon and cast its final rays of light on the landscape before them, -the mark that had turned into a masterpiece, just like the love that had turned their lives into a beautiful work of art.

The sun sank lower, casting a warm, golden glow over the scene. Roseanne's gaze was drawn to Jisoo, who was still engrossed in her notebook. The soft light of the sunset kissed Jisoo's features, enhancing her natural beauty and giving her an almost ethereal aura. A smile tugged at the corners of Roseanne's lips as she admired the sight before her.

"Sunshine," Roseanne murmured softly, her voice barely more than a whisper.

Startled, Jisoo looked up from her notebook, her eyes meeting Roseanne's in a moment of unexpected connection. The two of them locked eyes, the world around them seeming to fade away. There was an unspoken understanding between them, a shared moment that needed no words.

Jisoo blinked, a hint of surprise in her eyes. "Did you say something?"

Roseanne's cheeks flushed slightly, but she maintained her gaze, her affection for Jisoo shining in her eyes. "I was just thinking... you look like a sunshine, Jisoo."

Jisoo's lips curved into a gentle smile, her heart warming at Roseanne's words. The compliment seemed to light up her features even more, as if the sun's radiance had found a home in her smile.

"You always manage to bring a smile to my face," Roseanne continued, her voice filled with sincerity.

A faint blush spread across Jisoo's cheeks as she realized she had been caught in the act of creating her art, and more importantly, caught by Roseanne. She averted her gaze, a shy smile tugging at her lips, and playfully whined, "Stop staring, you're making me blush."

Roseanne chuckled softly, her heart swelling with adoration. "I can't help it. You're like a magnet, pulling my eyes toward you."

Jisoo's playful whine turned into a melodious laugh, the sound like music to Roseanne's ears. "You're such a charmer, Roseanne."

Roseanne scooted closer to Jisoo, their shoulders brushing against each other. "Well, I can't resist when you're the one lighting up my world."

Jisoo's blush deepened, but there was a sparkle of happiness in her eyes. "You're too sweet, you know that?"

Roseanne leaned in, her voice a soft murmur. "Only because I have the sweetest inspiration."

Their eyes locked once more, and for a brief, precious moment, the world seemed to fade away, leaving only their shared connection. In that unspoken exchange, they reaffirmed the depth of their feelings for each other, a love that was as constant and radiant as the sun itself.

As the last rays of sunlight painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, Roseanne and Jisoo basked in the warmth of their affection, cherishing the simple yet profound moments that made their love story unique and beautiful.

The soft glow of the sunset cast a warm and intimate ambiance around Roseanne and Jisoo as they sat side by side on the bleachers. The air was filled with a gentle breeze, carrying with it a sense of tranquility and possibility. Roseanne took a deep breath, her heart pounding with a mix of nervousness and determination.

"Jisoo," Roseanne began, her voice steady but laced with vulnerability, "there's something I've been wanting to tell you."

Jisoo turned to face Roseanne, her eyes curious and attentive. "What is it?"

Roseanne felt a surge of courage welling up within her as she locked eyes with Jisoo. "I really like you, Jisoo. Like, more than just a friend. I enjoy spending time with you, talking to you, and I've found myself thinking about you even when we're apart."

Jisoo's expression shifted from curiosity to surprise, and then to a soft smile that radiated warmth. Her response was a gentle, "You do?"

Roseanne nodded, her cheeks tinged with a blush. "Yes, I do. And I was wondering... if you'd like to get to know me better too. Maybe... go on a date sometime?"

Jisoo's smile widened, and her eyes seemed to hold a hint of mischief. "A date, huh? That sounds pretty nice, Roseanne."

The relief that washed over Roseanne was palpable. She had taken a leap of faith and bared her feelings, and now Jisoo's positive response filled her with a sense of joy and excitement.

"I'm really glad you think so," Roseanne replied, her voice soft with sincerity. "I just wanted you to know how I feel, and if you're open to it, I'd love to see where this could lead."

Jisoo reached out and placed her hand on top of Roseanne's, her touch gentle and reassuring. "Roseanne, I've enjoyed getting to know you too. And I'd really like to explore this connection between us. So yes, I'd love to go on a date with you."

A radiant smile lit up Roseanne's face as she squeezed Jisoo's hand. "I'm looking forward to it."

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a final burst of colors across the sky, Roseanne and Jisoo's shared moment felt like the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. The admission of their feelings had deepened their bond, and the promise of a future together filled them both with hope and anticipation.

With the sun now set and the world wrapped in the soothing embrace of twilight, they sat side by side, hands intertwined, watching the stars emerge one by one in the velvety night sky. In the stillness of the moment, their hearts beat in unison, the rhythm of their emotions creating a melody that was uniquely their own.

After several delightful dates that had solidified their connection, Jisoo and Roseanne found themselves in a beautiful place-they were officially a couple, their hearts intertwined in a journey of love and discovery. Every moment together felt like a treasure, and each day seemed to deepen their bond.

On a bright and sunny morning, Roseanne stood outside Jisoo's classroom, a wide smile adorning her face as she waited for her girlfriend to step out. As the door swung open and Jisoo emerged, Roseanne's eyes lit up, and she playfully greeted her, "Good morning, sunshine!"

Jisoo's face broke into a radiant grin, her eyes sparkling with affection. She eagerly stepped into Roseanne's waiting embrace, their bodies fitting together perfectly. Roseanne couldn't resist the urge to twirl Jisoo around a little, eliciting a joyful laugh from her.

"You're in quite the cheerful mood today," Jisoo teased, her arms wrapped snugly around Roseanne's neck.

"Well, how could I not be when I have the sun itself standing right in front of me?" Roseanne replied with a playful wink.

Jisoo chuckled, her cheeks tinged with a becoming blush. "Smooth talker."

Roseanne leaned in and pressed a soft, lingering kiss to Jisoo's lips, savoring the sweetness of the moment. When they finally pulled away, Jisoo leaned in again, their noses touching in a tender and affectionate gesture.

"You always know how to make me smile," Jisoo whispered, her voice a gentle caress.

Roseanne's heart swelled with affection as she gazed into Jisoo's eyes, her fingers brushing against the side of Jisoo's face. "And you, my dear, have a smile that could light up the darkest of days."

Their noses nudged together once more before they intertwined their fingers and started walking, their steps in sync as they strolled side by side. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them, wrapped in the warmth of their affection.

As they walked, Jisoo rested her head against Roseanne's shoulder, her heart content and at ease. Roseanne's presence was a constant source of comfort and joy, and every moment spent with her felt like a precious gift.

"You know," Jisoo began with a mischievous glint in her eyes, "I think I might start calling you my flower."

Roseanne raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "Oh really? And why's that?"

Jisoo's smile turned affectionate as she gazed at Roseanne. "Because just like a flower turns towards the sun, I can't help but turn towards you, no matter where I am."

Roseanne's heart fluttered at Jisoo's words, her love for the girl beside her growing stronger with each passing day. "Well then, my sunshine, I promise to be your constant source of light and warmth."
