The Royal Dinner
Over few weeks my mother could not stop looking for evidence that I ran away from my party, I wondered what she was trying to prove. Time passed and we received an invitation from Kasaria.
it read, "His grace, King Julius Duras Of Pesteracia and his royal family has been specially invited for a royal dinner with King Adam Grimwall of Kasaria and his royal family.
This was my death sentence. I'm sure this dinner was only to fix a date for the wedding. The dinner was two nights away, my mother tried to prepare me as much as I can to me the so called " perfect bride" . I got magic training, curtsy training, and many other princess stuff. I could not escape yet, or else I would get my mother the evidence she'd been looking for. I don't normally wear gowns but here I am two nights later in a pesteracian royal silk ball gown. It was as uncomfortable as it looked. Lisa got me ready and " boom", I became a princess.
" sweetheart you look magnificent" My mother said.
"Thanks mum" I replied.
" Tonight you will show Kasaria what it is to be a princess of Pesteracia" my mother said.
"Yes mum" . I said.
She snapped her fingers twice, of course I knew what this meant. " show off practice time yeah?" . I made a ball of ice and water on each of my hands, went to my window, shit the ball of ice to the sky and it started snowing then shot the ball of water and it rained.
" wonderful Aleera, now be my escort for the dinner today " she said.
" no mum I'll come with Lisa in my carriage, right behind ya". I said .
" language Aleera " she said.
I rolled my eyes as she left. My own mother treated me like her toy. I will never be the perfect princess and my mother knew that. I always wanted to fight for my kingdom, in a war or something. But I was the daughter and not the son, my younger brother Philip was to inherit the throne. While I was the heir bearing slave to them.
Leaving Pesteracia was my dream but not to Kasaria. I wanted to travel the twelve seas, see the world, study my magic more and maybe find love somewhere. My dreams were crashed by this affair. Dreams will always be dreams. Kasaria was not as bad as I thought. It was very beautiful and also hot, hotter than I expected. I was not used to the heat so I used my magic to solve the problem.
We got to the castle it was very huge two times ours. The carriage stopped. A very loud trumpet was blown.
" The royal family of Pesteracia" The announcer shouted. My mother did her look on me. I knew what that meant. I made an ice _ water carpet for us to walk on to where King Adam and his family were. My mother was such a show off. King Adam was amazed, he clapped. My mother and father smiled. I walked to where the king and his family was.
" Your majesty, her grace, my betrothed, I am Princess Aleera Duras of Pesteracia, I am honoured to have this dinner. I said.
"She will do Julius, a fine work you've done on her. King Adams said.
" My honour your grace" My father said.
I was just a project to my Parents, I thought. It hurt me badly, I developed more hatred for my parents and King Adam.
" Child, how beautiful and graceful you are , walk with me would you?" Queen Beth said as she hooked her arms with mine.
" don't mind my husband dear, men will always be men I'm sure you'll get Ivor under your control soon just like I did with my husband" Queen Beth said.
I immediately liked her . I had comfort with her. Maybe Kasaria was not going to be that bad. She gave me a tour around the castle. She showed the courtroom, she said once I become queen I'd have a place there. Pesteracia never allowed women into the courtroom. She showed me my chambers, although still in furnishing it looked beautiful already. I had peace with queen Beth.
" can I call you mother,my lady?" I asked
" Of course child" she answered
" Now I'll leave you two" she said as she smiled and left.
" two?" I thought.
Then I saw the prince approaching.
"I guess this is the part where we take a stroll and pretend we are already into each other" prince Ivor said.
" Harsh, your grace" I said in a playful tone.
we hooked our arms and we started taking a stroll
" are we not like supposed to be at dinner?" I said
" you really don't know how arranged weddings work do you?" he asked
" of course I don't I don't have any older siblings and I already don't like you don't make it worse" I said
He smiled as we continued the stroll. I thought of what made him smile. He was silent after the smile for long.
" I don't want to love and I'm sorry I won't be able to love you not now not never" he said.
" I must say, you are really straight forward and I also don't want to be in love with you because as you know I'm the hybrid my mother laboured for me for a day and half she almost died two people with different powers can't be together" I said
" and yet here you are" he said
" my mother was in love, she didn't know when I happened. she had hope that I could be born" I said.
Prince Ivor was intrigued by my story. He already knew that if we have a child together, the child would be a tribrid, having fire, water and ice. But my life will be in danger during labour. I couldn't afford that. I vowed never to bear a child.
" we can't have a tribrid so I guess this marriage will be convinient for both of us". he said.
"Yes of course we'll be married but only just for our families " I said.
He nodded and smiled. He obviously had a thing for smiling. I won't deny it but rumors about his beauty doesn't do him justice. He had the most precious smile. I hope I won't fall for him because he won't reciprocate it.
We got to the dinner table and both our families were discussing and laughing very seriously.
" there they are already in love just like us right Adam?" queen Beth said.
" Yes dear" King Adam replied.
" join us dear" my mother said.
" Your wedding has been fixed for five days after now" my father said.
It was sooner than expected but I wasn't that sad anymore about it. Queen Beth has already started treating me like a daughter and as for Ivor we've already made a deal. I continued my dinner, even the food was good. what could go wrong?
